Now reading: Chapter 110 110: Top Ten Battle (Part 4) from Strongest Family System, a Action novel by AjithChettiyar.

A quiet wind swept across the Grand Competition Grounds, lifting faint curls of dust from the edges of the stage. The crowd had grown restless after three explosive battles, leaning over the railing, murmuring in electric anticipation. Every person sensed the shift—three contenders had already been eliminated, and the ranking was beginning to twist in ways no one had expected.

The elder rose into the air once more. His dark sleeves drifted like shadows caught in a slow tide.

When he spoke, the noise vanished instantly.

"Number Nine… and Number Seven."

The arena trembled—not from qi, but from thousands inhaling at the sa mont.

Two nas followed.

"Harvey Walker."

A thunder of cheers erupted instantly.

And then

"Rachel Clark."

Another wave of sound rolled across the stands, different in tone—hopeful, desperate, mixed with fear of what might co next.

On the Walker side, Harvey stepped forward with asured steps. He wore no aggressive expression, just an unwavering confidence. His presence felt heavy, like iron kept at a perfect temperature—controlled strength, shaped by arrogance.

Spirit Root Level Five.

Peak Stage.

Son of the clan leader.

The strongest Walker in this generation.

His aura did not scream.

It pressed.

Rachel Clark approached from the opposite side, her sword in hand, the flat of the blade reflecting the sinking glow of the day. Her posture was steady and refined—shoulders square, chin high. Her brown hair drifted softly across her face as a breeze passed, but her eyes remained unwavering.

Spirit Root Level Five.

Peak Stage.

Daughter of the Clark Clan leader.

Their last hope.

Two peak geniuses.

Two heirs.

Two clans bound by pride, standing at the edge of a single battle that would shape the reputation of their families for years.

Standing atop the stage, they faced each other.

Harvey tilted his head slightly. "You ca prepared."

Rachel's sword lowered to her side. "I have to. This is the only chance the Clark Clan has left."

A flicker crossed Harvey's gaze—not pity, not hesitation. Sothing closer to respect.

"If you want to carry your clan's hope, then co with everything."

Rachel nodded once.

The elder lifted his arm.

"Begin."

Rachel moved first.

Her foot pressed into the ground with a soft crunch, qi gathering along her legs in subtle, spiraling patterns. Her body beca a streak—light, thin, cutting through the air like a cold wind tearing through winter branches.

Harvey answered with one step.

A golden ripple spread from his foot, steady and quiet but powerful enough to crack the stone under him.

Rachel's blade shot forward.

A piercing line of silver qi cut the air with a sharp whistle.

Harvey t it with his sword, raising it in a precise, clean block.

CLANG!

The sound rang across the stage like a struck bell.

Rachel did not pause—she flicked her wrist, redirecting the force and sliding past Harvey, her blade tracing a downward diagonal ant to slice behind his ribs.

Harvey stepped back a fraction, just enough to escape the edge. Not an evasive leap—simply a shift, as if he had predicted her angle from the mont she moved.

He countered with a short, efficient thrust.

Rachel parried it, a spark leaping between the blades.

Movent blurred.

Sword shadows intertwined.

The match accelerated instantly, both fighters pushing past the limit of what ordinary spectators could follow.

"Clark movent is beautiful this year!"

"No—Walker precision is terrifying!"

Breaths in the arena grew shallow.

Rachel exhaled sharply. Frost gathered along her blade, qi swirling upward like faint white smoke.

"Sword Art—Falling Frost Line."

She plunged downward.

A thin white arc sliced from above—quiet, clean, deceptively simple.

Harvey rotated his wrist, deflecting the slash with a circular motion, his body flowing with the strike instead of resisting it. The footwork he used—Golden Wind Drift—absorbed the force and returned none of it.

Rachel slid backward, surprised.

She tightened her stance.

Her breath steadied.

"You are reading too clearly."

Harvey gave a small shrug. "You leave tiny hesitations before shifting styles. Not enough for most people to catch… But enough for ."

Rachel gritted her teeth.

She stepped sideways—lightning-quick.

Her sword carved a whipping line, cutting through the space Harvey had just occupied.

He leaned, letting the wind of her slash skim past his throat.

The crowd gasped.

Rachel swung again—faster, tighter, more desperate, her qi cold enough to sting the nearest spectators. Her blade traced elegant arcs, weaving together in a pattern ant to trap Harvey's footwork.

She struck from the side.

Harvey stopped retreating.

He stepped into her attack.

Their blades collided again, but this ti Harvey twisted his sword in a spiral motion, locking Rachel's blade angle for a heartbeat. In that instant, he swept his leg to disrupt her lower stance.

She staggered—

but caught herself, spinning back into guard.

The crowd roared.

This was not a contest of cultivation.

It was a technique.

Understanding.

Experience.

Two peak-level geniuses exchanging the purest form of combat mastery.

Rachel inhaled. Frost began gathering around her arms, the air chilling in a quick radius around her.

Her sword rose.

"Winter's Vein—Third Pattern."

Ice surged outward.

A line of freezing qi cracked the stage as it raced toward Harvey.

Harvey grounded his feet.

Golden light poured down both arms, thickening around his sword until it resembled a blade of pure sun-forged tal.

He slashed downward.

"Walker Art—Sunfall Break."

A golden arc crushed through the frost wave.

Cracks were spidering across the stone.

Energy roared outward, pushing Rachel several steps back.

She tasted blood at the corner of her lip.

But her eyes did not falter.

"If I fall here… Clark Clan has no one."

Harvey stepped forward, her blade pointed at her chest. "Then show what burden you carry."

He moved.

She t him.

A storm of gold and silver filled the air.

Their swords clashed high-low—

angled-parallel.

Each collision flared with qi, shaking the platform.

Rachel slid beneath a golden sweep and countered with a rising thrust.

Harvey parried, twisting his wrist to redirect the force harmlessly aside.

Her breath grew uneven.

He did not look winded at all.

Rachel's foot slipped.

It was tiny—barely noticeable—but Harvey saw it instantly.

Her center of gravity tilted.

Her guard loosened.

Her retreat path narrowed by half a step.

Harvey's eyes sharpened.

The opening was there.

He advanced with a controlled burst of speed—no recklessness, only intent.

Rachel swung desperately.

Her blade shone with frantic frost.

He deflected it smoothly.

Then—

The final strike.

A quick, tight movent—nothing dramatic.

Just a clean slash across her guard, followed by a palm strike to her shoulder, imbued with golden qi.

BOOM—

Rachel flew backward, rolling across the stone until her body slowed near the edge of the platform. Her sword skidded out of reach.

She tried to stand.

Her legs trembled.

Pain shot across her ribs.

"I… can still—"

Her knees buckled.

She fell.

Silence blanketed the arena for half a breath.

Then—

"WINNER—HARVEY WALKER!"

A tidal wave of cheers exploded outward.

"WALKER CLAN DOMINATES AGAIN!"

"No Clark Clan in the top five this year!"

"that is… terrible for them."

"Walker Clan keeps getting stronger!"

The Clark pavilion sank into heavy stillness. Even Evan, still pale from defeat, lowered his eyes.

Losing was one thing.

Losing all entries was a humiliation that would echo for months—maybe years.

The elder's voice deepened, carrying a gravity that made every disciple straighten.

"Prepare yourselves. The final match for the Top Ten will now begin."
