The Walker Clan Hall was quiet, but it was not peaceful. The silence felt controlled, asured, almost deliberate. Lamps burned low along the stone walls, and the guards outside stood straight without speaking. Nothing in the hall suggested panic. That was the way Zilton Walker preferred it. When the power was steady, it did not need noise.

Only two people were in Zilton Walker's study room. Zilton Walker sat behind a wide wooden table carved from dark wood. Across from him stood a man dressed in plain grey robes. His face was ordinary, easy to forget. His presence was steady and restrained. Nothing about him demanded attention.

That was intentional. No one in the Walker Clan knew this man's true role, or that he existed in the Walker Clan. He was not listed among the elders. He did not attend any public etings. He did not train in the courtyards with other cultivators. To most, he did not exist. Only Zilton knew his purpose.

He was sent to keep watch on the Osborn clan and assess their strengths and weaknesses so they could plan accordingly. You have returned, Zilton said calmly.

The man inclined his head in acknowledgent. Yes, Clan Head.

Zilton's gaze remained fixed on him. Report.

The man did not speak imdiately. He gathered his thoughts carefully before answering. I followed every move of the Osborn clan for the past two months. They have grown stronger. I have also planned the beast attack in the magical city; the strong was Soul Manifestation Realm (level 2).

The air in the chamber grew colder, though neither man moved. I wanted to observe their reaction, the man continued. Zilton leaned back slightly but did not interrupt him.

The Osborn Clan did not panic during the beast attack. The clan head and his wife responded first. They moved with control and clear coordination. John Osborn, Zilton said quietly.

Yes. Soul Manifestation Realm, Level 2, but I do not know if he is in a low, mid or high stage. His foundation is stable and has good control. And Mary Osborn. She has broken through recently. Her Soul Manifestation Realm, Level 1, low stage. Her aura is steady but still new.

Zilton's fingers tapped once against the table before becoming still again.

Were others present, he asked.

Yes, there were at least three other Soul Manifestation Realm cultivators who did not show their faces in the battle. They remained hidden. Zilton's eyes sharpened. Hidden strength.

Yes.

The study room remained silent for several breaths. Zilton stood and walked slowly toward the window. Moonlight filtered through carved lattice patterns, casting long shadows across the stone floor.

In two months, Zilton said slowly, they have not reacted to our earlier losses. No, the man replied. "No, the man answered, they did not accuse us.

No.

They did not retaliate.

No.

Zilton ceased walking; however, they are strengthening themselves.

Yes.

Zilton turned back toward him. And Robert. The man paused slightly before answering the clan head.

He does not rush into battle. He observes first. In the forest incident, he did not engage directly when faced with superior numbers. He manipulated the environnt. Spirit beasts were drawn into conflict.

Zilton's expression did not change, but his jaw tightened slightly. You believe he shaped the battlefield. Yes. He does not rely on pride and arrogance. He relies on positioning.

Silence settled again, heavier this ti. The spirit stone flowed, Zilton said at last. Confird.

The man nodded once to confirm: Extraction is taking place within the Osborn clan. Hidden. That is sothing that only very few people seem to know the source.

Zilton's eyes darkened. So they have secured a spirit stone vein.

Yes.

And their defences, Zilton ask. The person replied that they were strengthening the defences. Hidden formations within the compound.

The guard rotations were adjusted. Discipline has raised their level of cultivation. Zilton slowly took his seat again. They grow in silence, he said.

Yes.

They do not seek confrontation.

No.

Zilton folded his hands together. That is more concerning than open hostility. The man did not argue. Open enemies could be crushed. Silent ones required patience.

If left unchecked for another year, the man said carefully, the Osborn Clan will no longer be minor. Zilton did not flinch at the statent. About Robert.

He is central to their growth. Can he be removed quietly? Not at present. He is cautious and Observant of the enemies. He did not leave the Osborn clan for two months.

Zilton remained silent for several monts, weighing possibilities that would never be spoken aloud in public halls.

The elders do not know you were sent, he said finally. They do not. And if you are exposed. No one will connect to the Walker Clan. Zilton nodded once. That assurance was the reason this man stood in front of him now.

Return to Magical City, Zilton instructed. Do not provoke them further. No beasts. No open testing.

Yes, Clan Head.

I want more information about the Osborn clan. Spirit stone output. Hidden cultivators. And

Robert's limits. Understood. If a clean opportunity presents itself, Zilton continued, you act.

Yes. And if not. I continue observing. The man bowed slightly and turned toward the door. His steps were calm and unhurried. He looked like an ordinary traveller leaving a quiet eting.

When the chamber door closed, Zilton remained seated. The Walker Clan elders believed the Osborn Clan had survived by fortune. They did not know about the spirit stone extraction. They did not know about the hidden Soul Manifestation Realm cultivators.

They did not know that Zilton had already begun testing them months ago.

Zilton stared at the dark window for a long ti. If we allow them ti, he thought, they will not remain small.

Outside, distant thunder rolled beyond Celestial Brook City. A storm was forming sowhere beyond the mountains. Inside the Walker Clan Hall, the air felt heavier than before.

Zilton Walker did not fear the present. He feared what the Osborn Clan might beco in the future.

And far away in the Magical City, Robert Osborn remained unaware that careful eyes still watched from the shadows.

The conflict had not ended. It had only grown quieter.
