After returning to the Osborn clan estate, a weighty silence settled over the grounds.

The cultivators and elders went their separate ways—so heading off in search of food or a mont's rest, others withdrawing early to ready themselves for the decisive day to co.

In the end, only Robert and his father remained in the dimly lit main hall, the bustle of their exhausted clan fading into silence behind closed doors.

John Osborn took the responsibility of leading the clan seriously, and it was evident. "Co," he said quietly, gesturing toward his private quarters. Robert followed him, saying nothing.

Inside the flickering light of John's chamber, both n sat, their faces drawn with seriousness.

John's keen stare and intense expression could capture anyone's attention.

"Tomorrow, it is just us and the Jas clan," he said, his voice low but filled with urgency.

"If we lose, things get worse. Our resources are already scarce—without the market, it will beco even harder for our cultivators to grow stronger. We cannot keep up if we keep losing ground."

He paused, rubbing his temples, then continued, "But if we win, we claim the market and boost our influence—but you know the Jas clan will not give it up quietly.

"They will push back—and if we are not careful, this could spiral into sothing worse.

"It is not just about holding a title. It is about showing that we can still protect and lead our people." Robert paused for a mont, letting his father's words sink in as he sat there in silence.

It was not just pressure from the clan he felt, but the growing unease of what choices lay ahead.

After a mont, Robert spoke, his voice steady. "If we want to stay strong, we will need to build alliances, call in old favors, and find ways to strengthen the clan from the inside."

We can no longer rely solely on the old ways. It is ti to prepare, whatever tomorrow brings."

The room was quiet again, the lamplight dimming as it cast long, uneven shadows on the walls. They both realized that tomorrow's events were about more than just a battle—it could very well determine the future of the Osborn clan for a long ti.

Once the conversation with his father wrapped up, Robert quietly exited the chamber, the echoes of their discussion still swirling in his mind.

As he made his way down the dark corridor toward his room, a thought struck him with sudden, electrifying clarity—a possible solution that could tip the scales in the Osborn clan's favor.

He recalled how difficult it was to obtain three-line pills these days—most could only refine the common, low-grade kind. But with the aid of his system, he was now capable of refining pills of much higher quality.

If he succeeded in crafting three-line pills while others still struggled with basics, it would give him a serious advantage—and a way to profit from it.

Perhaps more importantly, he could use these rare pills to bargain with the Grey Shadow Hall for new alliances or trading terms. If the Grey Shadow Hall supported them, even the Jas clan would hesitate to act recklessly.

Without delay, Robert fetched a set of jet-black clothes from his system, clothing he had worn on the first day to enter the Gery Shadow Hall. He draped himself in shadow, blending into the night, and slipped silently from the compound using Shadow Step—nothing more than a faint blur beneath the moonlight as he made his way toward the center of the city.

The journey took him half an hour, crossing mostly empty streets where just a handful of cultivators lingered.

As Robert stepped inside the cool entryway of Grey Shadow Hall, he approached the receptionist, Alima, a woman he recognised from previous visits. She gave him a brief, startled glance as he quietly said, "I need to speak with Elder Devlin Lie."

Alima nodded, recovering quickly from her surprise. "Please wait here for a few monts. I will check if the elder is available," she replied.

She did not say anything more as she made her way up the narrow staircase to the top floor, where Elder Devlin Lie's private chamber was situated.

Alima knocked softly at the heavy wooden door. From within ca a short reply. "Enter."

She slipped inside quietly. Elder Delvin glanced up from his desk, his expression far from pleased at the interruption, and Lady Sarah sat nearby. Sarah glanced up, her expression shifting as Alima stepped into the room.

"What is it, Alima? It is late," she said, her voice edged with both curiosity and a hint of impatience.

Alima dipped her head in a brief bow. "Miss Sarah, Elder Delvin—Robert Osborn has arrived. He wishes to et with you."

Both Delvin and Sarah exchanged a look of shock. Delvin's stern deanour shifted, curiosity gleaming in his eyes. He had seen Robert's skill before—especially the young man's unique swordplay and his mastery of movent.

The stories he had heard from Sarah and others rang in his mind: the so-called Osborn clan's 'failure', which had surprised them all. And then there were the pills—Sarah had recounted how Robert managed to produce five-line pills, a rarity even greater than the unavailable three-line variety in Magical City.

"Bring him to us," Sarah said quickly, her composure returning. "Right away, Alima."

Alima gave a short nod and retreated from the chamber, retracing her steps down the hall to bring Robert for the eting that, she guessed, might change the fortunes of several clans.

Robert made his way into the large chamber, being swiftly escorted by Alima.

Inside, Elder Delvin and Lady Sarah stood, their gazes fixed on him as they waited.

The air was thick with anticipation.

Delvin's sharp gaze was fixed on Robert. "You've made quite the impression with your skills, Robert Osborn."

"So, what brings you here tonight? I doubt this is just a casual visit."

Robert bowed his head slightly, then t their gazes steadily. "Elder Delvin, Lady Sarah, I co with a proposal—one that could strengthen not only the Osborn clan but the Grey Shadow Hall as well."

He took a mont to let his words resonate, allowing them to truly settle in.

"I can give you one Soulflare Pill," Robert started with a steady voice, "a special elixir designed to help you break through your barriers and advance to level 4." "I will also put up three-line pills for auction every month—a steady source of support to help Grey Shadow Hall cultivators grow stronger over ti."

Sarah and Elder Delvin exchanged brief, thoughtful glances. Delvin thought about how this advantage could really enhance his status in the clan, giving him more sway. While Sarah was deep in thought, she realized that this support could really boost her standing, giving her the chance to rise even higher within the clan.

Though their perspectives differed, both understood the value of this alliance. Delvin glanced at Sarah, hoping to catch a hint of their shared feelings without saying a word.

Sarah nodded slowly, then glanced back at Robert, her expression steady and evaluative. "So, what exactly do you want in exchange?"

Robert t her eyes, unwavering. "My clan needs allies. Tomorrow's battle will be fierce. We know the Jas Clan will not surrender the marketplace so easily—they will fight tooth and nail to hold it. If you back the Osborn Clan, you strengthen your position as well. After all, the Jas Clan will not go against the Grey Shadow Hall.

There was a beat of silence as his words settled between them. The room was heavy with a weight that ca from unspoken ideas and the potential that hung in the air.

It was not just about the effectiveness of pills or montary wins; it was a deliberate arrangent made with future hurdles in mind.

Both Delvin and Sarah recognised the slim but vital window to reshape the balance of power.

Finally, Sarah gave a decisive nod. "Alright, Robert. We will carefully weigh your offer. Tomorrow's battle will show us which side is truly worthy."

With his head lowered, Robert's eyes sparkled with gratitude, tempered by a strong sense of purpose. The stakes were at an all-ti high, and this alliance had the potential to change everything in ways that were hard to predict.
