A Demon with several heads and long claws that looked like spears sat near a Law Well for the Law of Minor Lightning. It had been here for a while, focusing on prehending the Law of Minor Lightning.
But then, it turned around and looked at a newer. It was a weird pillar with a hammer.
The Demon became a bit aggressive since the newer was stealing its Energy. As a warning, one of its heads lightly hit the pillar in an effort to push it away.
At least, that's what it looked like from the outside.
"Hey, what's up guys?" Kyle transmitted.
"Glad to see you're still alive," Sebastian answered. "We're doing well, but trying to make this thing stronger is weird."
Kyle had been on his way to the east since he would be advancing soon, and during his journey, he had noticed Sebastian and Star Genesis inside their own little Demon Car.
Of course, after around 1,800 years, the Demon Car was no longer little. It had already bee a Peak Primal.
When Kyle had seen them, he decided to catch up with them, which he did by entering the Law Well. A quick scuffle between two Demons wouldn't raise any eyebrows. After all, they were not sending out any serious attacks.
The little shove would only last for half of a second, but with their thought speed and voice transmission speed, half of a second was more than enough time to talk.
"I can imagine," Kyle answered. "I mean, my guy is also an Elemental, but your guy is just a human, albeit without a Center or mind. How does advancing even work?"
"Weirdly," Sebastian answered. "The first Three Realms were not an issue. In fact, being a Transcendent also wasn't difficult. Fun fact: The Demon Car received its own Core Spark, which is actually an unexpected boon."
"I used my Law of Spacetime Lightning to advance, and wouldn't you know, the Core Spark turned into one working with Spacetime Lightning. Technically, the Level of my Law of Spacetime Lightning is now 5.5 as long as I filter it through the Core Spark. Have you ever seen a Transcendent with a Level 5.5 Law?"
"Huh, that's actually crazy," Kyle answered. "Your Demon Car is probably the most Legendary Mortal or Transcendent ever."
Sebastian laughed. "Yep, it's fucking hilarious. Of course, getting through the Transcendent Realm wasn't difficult. Just had to absorb a bunch of Energy. Also, I can say for certain now that there's nothing beyond the Legendary Realm, unless the Cosmos expects someone to prehend a Level Six Law as a Transcendent."
"Probably not," Kyle answered with a snort.
"Getting through the Primal Realm is somewhat weird. The Clusters are all here, but it's weird. The Minor Clusters are not an issue. The first Major Cluster also isn't a problem since it's related to the body, but the other Major Clusters are a problem. Like, two of them are for the Center and the mind. How are they supposed to fuse with me? I mean, I'm its Center and mind. Long story short, we're skipping those."
"I have no idea how to advance inside the pression Realm. I'm supposed to be pressed more, but I'm already pressed. Well, just gotta experiment and find a way," Sebastian transmitted.
"As long as it works," Kyle mented. "I've also been busy. I got some interesting information, which might interest you."
Kyle told Sebastian about the subtle concept transmission of fear and the Demons with Infused Laws.
"Wait, so, we can infuse our Demons with Laws?" Sebastian asked.
"Looks like it. The Demons that did just that are still alive. Most likely, the Demons don't view that as an issue, unless there's some kind of filter later, but I don't think there is one. Seems like most of the management seems to work automatically via the root network."
"That's good to know," Sebastian transmitted. "That means I can use a bit more power without arousing any suspicion."
"Do you even need to do that?" Kyle asked with a snort. "You're a Spirit Lord controlling a Primal."
"I don't need it, but it's still fun," Sebastian answered with a smile. "Anyway, we also have some things to report, but it's better if you hear it from Star Genesis."
"Hey, Kyle," Star Genesis transmitted with a neutral voice that hid a bit of excitement.
"Hey, what's up? Everything working out?" Kyle asked.
"As well as it could," Star Genesis answered. "Sebastian and I have gotten used to each other. To be honest, I thought that he was just a reckless asshole that doesn't care about anything, but that's not true. His moral pass and his ideologies are actually pretty thought out and logical."
Kyle smiled. "That's good to hear. I was afraid that you two would start to hate each other after a while."
"I thought so as well, but that fear was unfounded. In fact, after talking with him for a while, I actually realized that the Cult isn't so bad."
"They're not?" Kyle asked in surprise.
"The members of the Cult are just different existences," Star Genesis transmitted. "They mit horrendous atrocities inside the Cosmos, but if you put yourself in a truly neutral position, you actually realize that this is nothing strange."
"We are beings made of Energy. They are beings made of a mix of Energy and Death. We hate and fear Death instinctively, but that's because it's our antithesis. It's fundamentally not patible with us."
"We wouldn't feel bad about killing armies of mindless zombies made of Death, and that's how beings made of Death feel about killing us. They're not the same as us. We don't even consider beings made of Death as truly living beings, and they feel the same towards us."
"From a neutral perspective, we're both just different forms of existence. Do I want to support the Cult? No. The Cult wants to kill everything I love and cherish. They are the enemy of my very existence. However, that's just nature."
"Sebastian told me a bit about this concept of disease and infection from Earth. A sick human would consider the disease as something abhorrent that must be eradicated, but the disease is technically also alive. From the disease's point of view, the human is attacking it just for existing. It doesn't even want to kill the human necessarily. It just wants to do what all life does, multiply and grow."
Kyle was surprised when he heard Star Genesis talking about the Cult in this way. She was obviously still the Cult's enemy, but she also understood them.
"That's similar to how I feel," Kyle answered. "Like, sure, the Cult is invading Cosmoses, but how is that weird? If we view the Cult and the Cosmos as people, wouldn't they just be two people vying for resources? It's like how Major Crushers fought each other to consume their Centers to bee Advanced Crushers. The conflict is just scarcity mixed with ambition."
"Correct," Star Genesis transmitted with a smile. "Anyway, Kyle, before we get to the interesting part, I want to tell you something."
"I thought about many things, and I've decided to accept your offer. When all of this is done, I'm willing to explore some... possibilities between us."
Kyle's heart rate increased.
"But now's a bad moment," Star Genesis added hastily. "We need to talk about the important things."
