Kyle was carrying Selene as quickly as he could to the west.
He could tell that all of this had happened just re minutes before. After all, he had felt the Ether washing over the world when the Duchess of Twilight had appeared.
Several scenarios shot through Kyle's mind.
Most likely, the Transcendents would first focus on the capital and the military fortifications.
While they wouldn't kill the soldiers due to the loss of Karma such an action would incur, there were still things they could do.
For example, they could sense the layout of the enemy army with their advanced senses and give commands.
If there were another Transcendent on the enemy side, this wouldn't help a lot since the other side could do the sa.
But that was no longer the case.
'For now, they probably don't know where I am. They know that I exist, but they probably don't know where I live,' Kyle thought. 'This gives us so ti.'
'Actually, why am I even worried?' Kyle thought as he blinked. 'They can't even catch up.'
'Get to the World Peak, talk to the Chief, ask for asylum, easy peazy!'
Within two minutes, Kyle changed his direction and ran north since he had already reached the western parts of the forr Skysand Kingdom.
From ti to ti, he looked at Selene.
Ever since she had told him about what had happened, she had beco quite silent.
"Why did you get ?" Kyle asked.
No answer.
Selene looked just as absent as earlier.
"Hey, Selene," Kyle said.
"Yes?" Selene asked, shaking her head to regain her bearings.
"Why did you get ?" Kyle asked again.
Selene's expression beca uncomfortable, and Kyle just raised an eyebrow.
She seed to struggle to find an answer.
Or, more like, she was weighing whether or not to tell the truth.
When she saw Kyle's raised brow, Selene sighed.
"You were on the way," she said.
Kyle imagined a map of the world and realized that Selene was right.
From the central landmass, if one didn't want to travel over too much of the ocean, going to the half-finished land bridge and through the peninsula would be the fastest way.
Forest Haven Cradle was in the middle of the northern half of the peninsula, which put it directly in the way.
"You seed quite relieved earlier when you saw ," Kyle said. "It looked like you were directly coming for ."
"Please, I don't want to talk right now," Selene said with restrained annoyance. "At this mont, my entire family is probably being slaughtered."
"Oh, yeah, sure. Sorry about that," Kyle said.
Selene beca quiet again.
'Yeah, she's probably quite stressed,' Kyle thought. 'No idea how that must feel. Dude, if soone killed my mom or dad, I would probably thank them.'
'But yeah, not everyone has a fucked family.' The source of this content ɪs novel⦿fire
After about another minute of running, Kyle approached the World Peak.
Just 50 more kiloters-
Kyle stopped.
Selene nearly fell off when Kyle stopped.
"What?" Selene asked in shock.
"Yeah, of course it couldn't have been that easy," Kyle grumbled.
"What?! Speak in sentences that I can understand!" Selene shouted.
"Enemies," Kyle said. "I should've rembered that the frontlines would have collapsed by now."
Selene looked forward, but she couldn't see or feel anyone who could be a threat to her.
"They're fighting a couple of kiloters away," Kyle said. "I can tell by the Ether in the air."
Selene was trying to focus on the Ether, but she couldn't feel anything unusual.
The next mont, Kyle put Selene down and summoned his hamr.
"Let deal with it," Kyle said. "You just have to run straight to the World Peak."
Selene was trying to co up with several plans, but when she heard that Kyle didn't ask for her help, she beca a bit concerned.
"Kyle, this is probably 20% or so of the Winterfire Kingdom's entire army," Selene said.
Kyle just rolled his eyes.
"Just run forward. Let that be my problem."
Selene narrowed her eyes.
BANG!
But then, the entire world transford rapidly.
Kyle suddenly grew to a size of almost 50 ters. If he wanted to, he could beco much bigger, but that size seed to be just right.
Next, a humongous set of thick and black armor covered his entire body.
The ground around Kyle cracked and broke apart like he was standing on fine sand.
He was simply too dense and heavy for the normal ground to support him.
When Selene saw the armor, she couldn't believe it.
Why did Kyle put on such a heavy set of armor?!
Nobody could possibly move in that thing!
Not even a Transcendent!
Sure, tals could be stretched to a certain degree, but not to such an extent.
Either this armor was so stretched that it would only have the defensive capabilities of a Rank B Material, which wouldn't do a lot against Kyle's opponents, or it would be so heavy that Kyle couldn't possibly move.
Yet, the tal was insanely dense and powerful, and Selene could tell that.
So, how could Kyle possibly move in that thing? !
Was he just planning on slowly taking one step at a ti, hoping that nobody was strong enough to injure him?
However, before Selene could think any further…
BOOOOM!
Kyle's humongous form suddenly exploded into a fiery inferno!
Selene had to protect her eyes despite her significant power. The flas were that powerful.
Kyle's humongous hamr stretched over the tree line, the wind caused by the movent destroying all the trees in the surroundings.
The fire burned all the trees into ashes, leaving a black wasteland of ash behind.
"Just run towards the World Peak," Kyle transmitted to Selene.
Selene was still shocked.
The current Kyle was probably the most intimidating thing she had ever seen, but she still couldn't imagine what he could do.
His armor was still way too heavy to move.
BANG!
Then, Kyle suddenly vanished.
Selene blinked in shock.
What?!
Where did he go?!
Then, she saw the trees and the ground exploding in the distance.
A humongous trail of destruction had suddenly appeared…
It led to the World Peak!
And then, Selene could finally feel the familiar feeling of chaotic Ether that accompanied a desperate battle.
