Chapter 615: Persona
The person who appeared with Swamp Dragon was a young man with white hair.
The Energy around him moved like he didn't exist.
It was like he wasn't even there.
Kyle knew what this ant.
This was soone who was purposefully not absorbing any Energy.
The reason for that was simple.
If they absorbed Energy passively, it would essentially consu all the Energy in the surrounding planets, creating a violent Energy vacuum that could end an uncountable number of lives.
The sa thing would happen if a Primal entered a Tertiary World.
They would consu so much Energy that the equilibrium would be broken.
For soone like this person, only the Immortal Dinsion would be able to support them.
This was soone in the Tenth or maybe even Eleventh Realm.
The Universe or the Void Realm.
Soone like this was not supposed to be in the Main Dinsion.
But there were ways around that.
The young man looked at the three of them before focusing on Swamp Dragon.
"You have beco a Unique Transcendent," he said slowly. "Are you willing to join the Array of Stars?"
Swamp Dragon looked at Warp Space.
Warp Space had failed.
There was still a chance that she could beco a Unique Transcendent.
She still had about a century left.
If she accumulated more experience and got through another True Battle, she might be able to join the Array of Stars as well.
But then, Swamp Dragon looked at Kyle.
There was no way Kyle could join the Array of Stars.
He had less than a year left, and that was simply not enough to finish condensing his Complex Law.
Kyle would never beco a Unique Transcendent.
Swamp Dragon had to make a choice.
He was loyal to his teammates, but…
Hadn't all of them joined to beco mbers of the Array of Stars?
Just because they might not be able to join didn't an that he shouldn't.
Additionally, could he even help them?
If he could, he would.
Sadly, there was no way he could help them.
Comprehension relied on the person.
"I'm sorry," Swamp Dragon said.
"Don't be!" Warp Space shouted. "We're all here for the sa thing. I'm happy that you managed to fulfill our dreams."
By now, Kyle had recovered quite a bit. "Go ahead," he said with his croaky voice. "You deserve it."
Even though he knew that he couldn't change anything, Swamp Dragon still felt guilty.
He sighed once and looked at the young man.
"I'm willing to join."
The man nodded once. "The Array of Stars thanks you for accepting our invitation," he said.
Swamp Dragon perford a short, polite bow.
Then, the man looked at Kyle without saying anything.
Warp Space noticed the man's expression. "teor Hamr might not be a Unique Transcendent, but he has the power of one! Isn't that enough to join?"
"It's fine," Kyle said as he slowly stood up. By now, his body had recovered fully.
Then, he looked at the young man. "Sir, I wish to withdraw from the Star Seeking."
When Swamp Dragon heard that, he felt even more guilty, even though there was no reason to. After all, it wasn't his fault.
Warp Space gritted her teeth.
The young man remained silent for a couple of seconds.
"According to the rules of the Star Seeking, I can't accept you into the Array of Stars," the man said.
"However, I can personally recruit you."
'This is the mont,' Kyle thought as he channeled certain emotions.
Acting wasn't about faking emotions. It was about feeling real emotions.
One just had to amplify certain parts of one's personality to summon the emotions.
It also helped to essentially fool oneself.
Kyle's goal was to join the Array of Stars, but he wasn't supposed to imdiately join.
And in order to facilitate the necessary emotions, Kyle relied on his pride and sense of fairness.
"I'm not a Unique Transcendent," Kyle said. "I don't want special treatnt. I don't want any handouts."
"I am not a Unique Transcendent. I did not get the increase of 20% of my Energy, and I will not get the best reward after advancing."
"I bit off more than I can chew during my comprehension, and I've failed."
"I wish to withdraw from the Star Seeking."
The other two beca frustrated.
Why wasn't he accepting?!
This was a unique opportunity!
He could join one of the biggest powers in existence!
"Are you giving up?" the man asked.
"Yes, I want to withdraw!" Kyle answered.
"Are you giving up on becoming a Unique Transcendent?" the man rephrased.
"Of course," Kyle answered. "I'm still a Fulfilled Transcendent. My advancent bonus will still be substantial, and as soon as I'm a Primal, I will condense my Complex Law. As far as I know, Laws are not a major focus of the Primal Realm."
"My Laws are already significant for a Primal. That gives far more ti to beco a 12/12 Primal. Just because I've failed now doesn't an I will fail again."
The man continued looking at Kyle without a change in expression. He saw no hesitation in Kyle's eyes.
There were no regrets.
That was the truth.
After all, Kyle still had an entire century of longevity left.
When he left the Star Seeking, he would simply condense his Complex Law, beco a Unique Transcendent, and beco a Primal.
Kyle had everything already planned out.
When he had realized that he wouldn't be able to finish his Complex Law before the longevity of his persona ran out, he had co up with a plan.
He was supposed to act like he didn't want to join.
The reason was that his persona had enmity with an organization.
His cover story was that he only entered the Star Seeking to get enough power to take his revenge.
That was also why his persona tried to learn such a difficult Complex Law.
His persona never wanted to join.
He didn't need to beco a Unique Transcendent.
It was better to create a Law that would be extrely powerful even in the Primal Realm.
Unlocking the first couple of Clusters in the Primal Realm wasn't difficult.
Kyle would advance quickly, and when he finally had the power to take his revenge, he would do so.
After he was free from his sworn vengeance, his priorities would shift, and he would want to join the Array of Stars as a 12/12 Primal.
This story would make his persona more realistic.
