'We shouldn't have advanced so fast,' Kyle thought. 'Broken Spark was right in their decision. We should've just gone for the tribute. Then, I would have had a couple more centuries to grow stronger.'
'Although,' Kyle thought as he looked at his hand, 'if things hadn't gone like this, I wouldn't have beco this strong.'
'Dawnlight's threat was the reason I changed my plan. Without their attack, I would've just continued. I would have never fought a Divine Beast, and I wouldn't have integrated my Law of teor into my mind.'
'My Montum also wouldn't be nearly as strong as it is right now.'
Kyle thought back to the battle he had gone through.
It had been desperate.
Luckily, he had managed to fully condense his new Infused Complex Law, which had saved his life.
The power the Infused Law of teor granted him was… unexpected.
Kyle thought that it would just increase his thought speed, but there was actually more to it.
It also had an actual, tangible effect.
"You didn't miss much, " Swamp Dragon transmitted. "We have one loss and one victory."
"Sounds pretty good," Kyle answered.
Swamp Dragon looked at Kyle. "How do you feel?"
Naturally, Swamp Dragon was referring to Kyle's Complex Mind Law.
"Pretty good," Kyle answered, showing a slight smile. "I still think I'm mostly the sa. It's just that so of my doubts have vanished."
"That's good to hear," Swamp Dragon answered.
"All in all," Kyle transmitted, "I think this is a good change."
Kyle glanced over at the mbers of Dawnlight, who barely paid attention to his arrival.
There was no reason to pay attention to a dead man.
Kyle focused on one person in particular, his opponent.
Among the group stood a tall man with fiery-red hair. He was quite tall and muscular, and he carried a huge two-handed sword on his back.
The man noticed Kyle looking at him and looked back.
For just a mont, the two looked at each other.
Kyle still rembered how he had felt when he had heard about his future opponent.
Unsure and nervous.
Yet, as he looked at his opponent, his feelings changed.
'I'm antsy,' Kyle thought. 'I want to finally fight this guy! I can feel his extre power, but I also know one thing for certain.'
'I can win!'
'I have a real shot at winning, and if I actually win, my power will increase even more!'
'He represents a major hurdle on my path. If I can overco this hurdle, I will be closer to my goal!'
'Not sure if it's the Law of teor in my mind, but risking my life doesn't feel as ominous anymore.'
'Do or don't! There's no in between!'
'If I die, I was never ant to reach supre power, and if I win, I'm closer to my goal!'
'Freedom!'
'Maybe, it's a good thing that all of this happened.'
'Danger is a crazy good motivator! I should be in danger more often!'
"We are now going to reveal the winner of the third battle," the first referee said.
The Formation Arrays were deactivated, and the winner was released.
Another victory for Dawnlight.
Holy Smite was dead.
The mbers of Explosive Karma sighed, while the mbers of Dawnlight gave their congratulations to the victor.
"Fourth battle, Heavy Light, step forward," the referee spoke.
The next mont, a stalwart man wearing heavy armor stepped forward.
"I swear that I am still in the Compression Realm and that I haven't gone through more than four Compressions," he said.
The oath for Advanced Crushers was a bit different. After all, a Sage could also say that they hadn't gone through more than four Compressions, assuming they had advanced as an Advanced Crusher.
Dawnlight had two Advanced Crushers who were extrely powerful, and this was one of them.
Explosive Karma suspected that Heavy Light was also a mber of the Contrast Empire, but they couldn't be sure.
"Toxic Arrow, step forward," the referee said.
Swamp Dragon stepped forward and swore the sa oath as his opponent.
"Don't die on ," Kyle transmitted.
"I'll try my best," Swamp Dragon transmitted back.
The two combatants entered the arena, and monts later, the battle started.
Kyle looked at the arena for a while.
'I feel surprisingly calm,' he thought. 'I assud that I would be more worried about Swamp Dragon.'
'Swamp Dragon is inferior in almost everything compared to his opponent, except for his Montum. Montum is very useful in a battle, but it has a limit. It can destabilize your opponent's focus, but it can't stop them from attacking. Even the fearful and hasty strike of a child can kill a venomous spider.'
'I trust Swamp Dragon. I believe that he can win.'
Kyle closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
'And if he can't…'
'Actually, not sure about then. I an, it's a fair duel. Both parties consented, right? Am I supposed to go crazy and kill everyone because they killed Swamp Dragon in a fair duel?'
'Feels kinda unfair, but on the other hand, they killed my friend. I'm not a machine, you know?'
'I know it's kinda unfair and hypocritical, but I would really love to kill the guy who killed Swamp Dragon.'
Kyle looked back at the arena.
'There's no point in making any plans.'
'I'll just do whatever feels right when the ti cos.'
'For now, I just have to wait.'
Slowly, an hour passed.
"We are now going to reveal the victor," the referee said.
