Max simply stared at her.
After grumbling for a bit, she walked over and waved her hand. A mattress appeared on the ground. She flopped down on it and leaned back on her hands, gazing at the sky.
Max watched her for a mont. She was beautiful but acted completely unladylike, which on its own was quite charming.
Shaking his head, he sat down beside her.
Both stared at the sky in silence for a while before she finally spoke.
"You have been visiting the Trade Mountain?"
This surprised Max a little, but then he rembered that she had seen the talisman he had created during the exam.
So, if she had co across one of the talismans he had sold on the Trade Mountain, it would be no surprise that she knew this.
"Yes." he nodded.
"Don’t go there again." she said.
"Why?" Max asked, his expression turning solemn.
Ryuna shifted her gaze from the sky and Max and in a serious tone, she told him, "People have realized it’s you who is selling those unique fire elental talismans. Now, if you go again, you will be in danger."
Max’s brows furrowed.
"I know you are using the random teleportation and concealnt talisman to leave the Trade Mountain and escape the trail, but now that they know who you are and where you live, they just have to wait near this place and you’ll be caught." warned Ryuna.
"I understand," Max nodded, then he looked at her and asked, "Where do you sell the talisman you make, Ms. Ryuna?"
"Resource Hall." Ryuna answered before shaking her head, "If I could sell your talismans, I would have already asked you to give them to . But I can’t. In fact, no one other than the creator of the talismans can sell them to the Resource Hall."
"Oh? I didn’t find this rule in the information packet." said Max, a little surprised.
"It’s not an official rule, just a tacit understanding." answered Ryuna. "But no one dares to violate this understanding."
"Because of the Hall Master?"
Ryuna chuckled, "Yeah, everyone thinks it would anger Hall Master, but they don’t know the Hall Master doesn’t give a jack shit about anything as long as people don’t fight and get killed in the Talisman Hall and the soone doesn’t hold back the Talisman Masters’ from practising their craft."
Max’s eyes flashed.
After a mont, he asked, "What should I do then? I need to sell them to earn Mana Stones."
Ryuna gave him a peculiar look which then turned into one of appreciation.
"Just give them to . I’ll take care of them." she said.
"Would this make things difficult for you?" he hesitated. He didn’t want to owe any favors, much less cause trouble for his benefactors.
"It might." Ryuna candidly accepted, then shrugged, raised her hand above her head, "But I’m already this deep into trouble. This little bit won’t make any difference."
Max stared at her for a long mont, then he said, "Let say this again, whenever you need help, call . I’ll do my best to help you."
Ryuna’s lips curled up, "Alright, Mr. Grand Elder’s favorite."
Then, Max gave her the 17 talismans he had created in the day. As she examined them, she couldn’t help but click her tongue, "These are almost reaching the pinnacle of mid-grade Tier 4 Elental Talismans. Your talent really makes one feel inferior."
Max just smiled in response. Once she had put them away, he asked, "I’m heading to the Violet Peak. Do you want to co along and have a al?"
"Thank you, but I should head back now." Ryuna said and swiftly departed, leaving Max with a slightly stunned look on his face.
’She was... blushing?’ he thought. Because of how open and brash her personality was, he hadn’t expected her to beco flustered over his casual dinner initiation. After all, it wasn’t like he had asked her out for a date.
...
On the way to her residence, Ryuna stopped in place and placed her hand on her chest, feeling her heart beating.
"What’s going on? Why did I beco flustered?" she muttered, then she touched her cheeks, "He didn’t see blushing, right? How embarrassing!"
Suddenly, her eyes flashed, and she gritted her teeth, "It’s all because of that damned girl. Her romantic fantasies must have affected ."
Hu!
She heaved a deep breath, then took out a talisman and activated it.
Buzz!
An invisible stream of energy washed over her. Imdiately, her blushing cheeks beca normal along with her increased heart rate.
After she had cald down completely, her brows furrowed, "No, my conviction isn’t so weak that her stories would affect . It’s sothing else. Don’t tell he did sothing?"
Killing intent flashed in her eyes for a brief mont at the thought before she shook her head, "No, it didn’t seem he did anything, nor his invitation had any deeper aning."
Suddenly a figure silently materialized beside her and a gentle voice sounded, "What’s troubling you, little Ryu?"
"Aish! You scared , Grandma." Ryuna jumped up and put away the talisman she had taken out on instinct.
This woman was old, had grey hair and was hunched back. With her hands behind her back, her frail body and no extraordinary aura around her, she looked nothing but an old woman nearing her end of days.
She smiled faintly and asked, "So, what was it? Did that little guy do sothing to you?"
"I... don’t think so." Ryuna shook her head.
"Oh?"
Seeing her grandma was really curious, Ryuna proceeded to tell her about her abnormal experience just now.
After she finished speaking, the grandma said, "I’m sure it has sothing to do with him."
Before Ryuna could say anything in response, she grabbed her wrist and they both disappeared from the place without a trace.
...
Swoosh!
Max left the Talisman Hall’s territory and headed toward the Core Hall, but suddenly, his hair stood on end without any warning which made him stop in his tracks.
Swoosh!
His Bloodline Sense burst out and scanned the area around him, but he found nothing.
Quickly retracting his Bloodline Sense, he frowned, ’What was that?’
After staying put for a mont, he continued toward the Core Hall. Only this ti, there was a grave look in his eyes.
