"Where's the gunfire coming from?" Luo Zheng was startled, quickly standing up, staring sharply at the direction from which the gunfire erged. Mountain Eagle rushed forward to check. The sound of gunfire was a bit far, at least a thousand ters away, but in this prival forest, it was clearly audible. Gunfire here signaled danger—if not Pot Lid Head, then Bloodsucker, both formidable presences that must not be underestimated.

Everyone entered combat mode, dispersing imdiately. The already lit bonfire was promptly extinguished. Luo Zheng listened for a mont; the gunfire was becoming more intense. His expression shifted slightly, tiger eyes furrowing as he commanded, "Follow ." With that, he charged ahead, chambering a bullet as he ran.

Quickly, they reached a ridge, taking in the full view. In the valley ahead, gunfire erupted violently from one side sparsely and the other with no less than thirty personnel. The gunfire wasn't in bursts but rather rhythmic single shots that created a rapid-fire effect. This was no ordinary skill set. Luo Zheng's expression grew heavy as he looked towards the valley, gripping the sniper rifle tightly, swiftly raising it to observe through the sniper scope.

Everyone else went on high alert, bracing themselves for battle. After a while of observing, Luo Zheng noticed the dense forest obscured much of the view, but the gunfire was drawing nearer, evoking suspicion. He promptly instructed everyone to secure favorable terrain, preparing for combat. Luo Zheng himself concealed beneath a large tree, kneeling, aiming ahead, awaiting patiently.

After a mont, through the sniper scope, Luo Zheng saw six people retreating hastily. Instead of climbing the ridge, they sprinted along the mountain's waist, possibly sensing an ambush above. Luo Zheng scrutinized them: Westerners, perhaps part of the Pot Lid Head Special Warfare Group.

Judging by their gear, each person's equipnt cumulatively exceeded two hundred thousand Sam dollars. Such lavish gear was exclusive to Sam Country Special Forces. Additionally, their running speed and precise Bullet Avoidance Steps indicated rigorous training beyond ordinary military competence, suggesting a high likelihood of being Pot Lid Head.

Seeing that Luo Zheng hadn't issued an attack order, everyone remained calmly observant, waiting. After a while, so thirty-odd individuals charged up, hollering. Judging by their speed and route, they were clearly well-trained. Their seamless dodging and shooting movents were evidently skilled as well. Among them were Caucasians, Yellow Race, and even Black people, hinting strongly at Bloodsucker.

Luo Zheng knew that Bloodsucker's make-up was complex, comprising elite retired Special Forces worldwide, absorbing none below this tier—hence maintaining their top-four ranking in the rcenary world. Watching them seamlessly pursue without being shaken off by formidable Pot Lid Head sparked his interest significantly. After the group pursued up, he remarked to Lan Xue, "Let's chase up as well."

"Sure, know yourself and the enemy, and you'll be invincible in every battle," Lan Xue agreed without hesitation.

The team imdiately trailed the pursuing troops' tracks, maintaining distance to avoid detection, following for so ten minutes. Pot Lid Head, perhaps annoyed by the chase, launched a counterattack from a ridge. With the high ground and sudden counterattack, their precise shooting imdiately took down three pursuers.

Luo Zheng observed ticulously, discovering the three were taken out by snipers, indicating Pot Lid Head had more than three snipers. He promptly signaled the team to conceal themselves and avoid getting involved, waiting for the right ti. If possible, being the latecor catching the prey wouldn't be bad either.

The two forces clashed fiercely; both sides brought out their true skills, quickly reaching a stalemate. The thirty-odd pursuers dispersed swiftly, utilizing surrounding trees for cover, initiating precise counterattacks. anwhile, the pursued party didn't falter, relocating after each shot. Three snipers positioned themselves at different locations, with others suppressing with firepower, sniping and killing.

Luo Zheng heard the sound of Barrett guns, pondering it might be the sa attacker from that night. The distance too far; with the trees, saw a monkey mistaken as him. In the dim light, from afar, mistaking the monkey for a human was understandable. Astonishingly, the enemy hit the monkey's heart position. Although the monkey was nearly split in half, the pinpoint shooting skills were comndable.

Luo Zheng noted Barrett's gun wasn't often fired, but each shot resulted in soone being severed in two or exploded heads, with the least impact breaking limbs—an imnsely ferocious presence. In barely five minutes of fighting, Barrett had claid three pursuers, while the other two snipers—not using Barrett but still effective—took out two more.

After losing five comrades, the pursuers cald, recovering from the initial surprise of the counterattack. They imdiately organized a powerful counteroffensive: three firepower personnel focused on a sniper, with the remaining twenty-odd splitting in three groups—one frontal attack, two flanks—with rapid maneuvers.

Thus, Pot Lid Head's situation grew tense. Although fighting fiercely, the increasing threat forced another retreat after ten more minutes of engagent. Yet Luo Zheng noticed no losses on their side. Besides the five initially fallen pursuers, none had suffered further injury.

Both forces were not to be underestimated. Astonished by the scene, Luo Zheng quickly ordered the team to continue tailing, awaiting an opportunity. Both sides, having reached a blood frenzy, were bound to settle a score. From the earlier battle, Pot Lid Head evidently had a slight edge over the pursuers, yet nothing pronounced. If the pursuers were Bloodsucker, this team rightfully held the rcenary world's fourth-ranked title.

Observing quietly without firing, everyone followed closely, lying in wait. Luo Zheng knew these two factions, having reached a heated conflict, refused to relent, enjoying watching tigers fight from the mountain while trailing the pursuers for an opportunity. They ran wildly, and half an hour later, amid dense woods, exhausted, both the escapees and pursuers, seemingly in mutual understanding, paused for rest without further aggression.

Luo Zheng, repositioning with his team, concealed themselves five hundred ters away to avoid detection. He quietly crept closer, seeing the exhausted pursuers collapsed on the ground immobile. Yet Luo Zheng dared not be careless; for those long-struggling on death's brink, sensing danger prompts them into combat readiness, negligence would only cost him his life.

Silence enveloped the woods as the wind intensified, rustling leaves; the air thickened with a rotting corpse odor—likely so animal carcass. Luo Zheng even felt irritable, took a deep breath to calm himself, his gaze steely ahead, suppressing his murderous intent.
