After a round of discussions, aside from infiltration and surprise attack, only strong offense remained, or one could use the tactic of luring the enemy out of their cave, like Sam Country did, eliminating them one by one. However, in the face of absolute strength, no tactic could succeed imdiately, requiring a lot of ti to slowly peel away the opponent's claws. But ti was very scarce for everyone, leaving little available ti for grinding down the enemy.
With no good tactics in mind, the food was cooked, and everyone started to share it. Luo Zheng tore a rabbit leg and walked over to Cheng He, who was deep in thought, sat down heavily, and handed over the rabbit leg, saying, "Why were you so angry during the retreat?"
Cheng He didn't hesitate, took a bite, and swallowed it in a few gulps, with a sullen face and said nothing. Luo Zheng didn't mind, finished off the other rabbit leg in his hand, took a sip from the canteen, and passed it over. Cheng He shook his head and said, "During the fight earlier, I saw my forr captain, he was the one who brought here."
"So you got angry?" Luo Zheng said calmly, his eyes like torches, staring at Cheng He as if he could see through his thoughts. Seeing Cheng He's bitter nod, he continued, "Your life no longer belongs to you, but to the country. Before finding the activation device, you cannot die."
"Okay." Cheng He agreed, his gaze becoming firm.
"You've lived in the cave before. How did you escape back then? Is there any other way to enter the cave?" Luo Zheng asked seriously, looking at Cheng He.
Cheng He pondered for a mont and then said, "When Pot-lid Head launched an attack on Bloodsucker headquarters, three squads left, and the cave went on high alert, increasing their strength. Perhaps because I promised to join them, there was no guard, and I sneaked out while patrolling with a squad, but I was discovered. I fought and ran, and you know the rest."
"The cave? It only has one entrance?" Luo Zheng pursued further.
"Uh-huh, I found only one entrance. It's big inside, and I didn't cover all the areas. The cave is a naturally ford cavern, with good ventilation, presumably not just one exit, I just don't know. There are many hidden posts around. Even if one goes to search, they would be discovered." Cheng He quickly replied.
"Could the hidden post positions have cavern entrances? Such places allow the sentinels not only to defend but also to retreat into the cavern at critical monts, using their familiarity with the terrain to kill the intruders?" Luo Zheng analyzed seriously.
"Hiss? That could be possible. If that's the case, it could be utilized. Why not, we try to find a way to sneak up there tonight?" Cheng He agreed.
Luo Zheng didn't answer but analyzed it instead. Naturally ford caverns are caused by crustal movents and can't have only one entrance. There must be other cracks that are perhaps hidden or covered by grass and trees, making them hard to find. Large-scale searching might easily alert Bloodsucker, what should be done?
"Report, an indigenous person was captured." A voice broke Luo Zheng's contemplation.
Slightly surprised, Luo Zheng looked in the direction of the voice and saw Zhang Bin escorting a tall, burly man over. The man was shirtless, with long hair cascading over his shoulders and only wearing coarse cloth shorts. He looked like a lion, his skin dark, muscles bulging all over, indicative of inherent great strength.
"Huh? Binzi, what's going on?" Luo Zheng asked in surprise.
"I was on sentry duty around and found this person sneaking around, so I brought him over," Zhang Bin explained.
Luo Zheng stepped over, looking at the person, judging from his outfit and ethnicity, he sure looked like a local. After considering it, Luo Zheng said, "Forget it, let him go. We shouldn't provoke the locals, it wouldn't be good for us."
"Oh? Yes!" Zhang Bin stood tall, agreed, and signaled for the person to go with him.
The indigenous man suddenly lifted his head, looking at Luo Zheng with surprise, with a peculiar look in his eyes, as if confirming sothing. Luo Zheng also noticed the anomaly, looking at the man in surprise, he felt a bit familiar and said, "Xue Er, doesn't this person look a bit familiar?"
"Familiar?" Lan Xue looked over in surprise, noticing that indeed, the person seed a bit familiar.
At this mont, the man started speaking excitedly in gibberish, making various gestures, startling Zhou Gang into aiming his gun, fearing any aggressive moves. Luo Zheng, however, didn't feel any hostility from the man, but rather a sense of joy, and quickly signaled Zhou Gang not to act recklessly, curiously looking at the man, and switched to speaking in a common international language, "Do you recognize ?"
The man, still gesturing passionately, ntioned sothing about caves, explosions, and fires, not very clear. Suddenly realizing sothing, Luo Zheng carefully examined the man, finding him increasingly familiar and said astonishedly, "Ghost Hand, Mountain Eagle, you two should co over and have a look."
Ghost Hand and Mountain Eagle quickly ca up, sizing up the man. The man, seeing Ghost Hand and Mountain Eagle, started speaking excitedly and urgently as if he knew them. Luo Zheng, deeply puzzled, searched through his mory of people, suddenly thought of sothing, and said, "Doesn't he look like soone we t once at Hook Tribe, a guy nad Lang Sen known for hiding and reconnaissance?"
"Huh, he does look a lot like him. It's been over half a year; didn't expect he'd bulk up so much," said Ghost Hand in surprise.
"Does seem like it," Mountain Eagle agreed.
"He certainly looks like it. He seems to have recognized us too, inviting us over," Lan Xue reminded.
"Hmm, seems so. Everyone, pack up and follow him," Luo Zheng decided quickly. It's quite a pleasant surprise to encounter old friends here, with familiar locals on hand, the situation changes. As he spoke, he made so hand signals, signaling for the man to wait while they prepared to follow.
The man nodded repeatedly with delight, and soon, everyone got ready. Luo Zheng signaled for the man to lead the way, as they headed forward. Cheng He tried catching up to Luo Zheng to ask a few questions, but repressed his curiosity. Even Zhou Gang and others were curious but didn't ask. Luo Zheng offered no explanations.
Along the way, the man kept speaking enthusiastically, unfortunately no one understood. After half an hour, realizing the communication barrier, he resignedly stopped talking, leading everyone at a quicker pace. After about two hours, they arrived at a valley, and the man howled ahead like a hungry wolf.
Soon, responses echoed from within the valley, and the man signaled for everyone to continue walking into the valley.
