"Soone tried to sneak in and stepped on a trap, triggering a button bomb. By the ti we got there, they had already retreated, leaving a large pool of blood on the ground, but no one." Ghost Hand quickly explained.
"It seems the enemy is still active and hasn't rested. Since the Sam Country representative said to cease fire, they shouldn't be acting recklessly as it's against their interests. Could it be Arctic Bear Country?" Luo Zheng said in surprise.
"That's very likely. Arctic Bear Country and Sam Country have always been at odds and have generally diocre relations with other countries. Compared to Sam Country, their interactions are less friendly. In other words, Arctic Bear Country's previous involvent in the competition was purely for the activation device. Given how much ti has passed, the activation device has likely been secretly delivered. If Arctic Bear Country is involved in the conflict, their goals are likely twofold: to prove their national strength and defend their status, or to rescue the two prisoners." Other countries would follow Sam Country's instructions and wouldn't act before a ransom. Only Arctic Bear Country is likely to act without Sam Country's order to rescue their own.
"Makes sense. Should we pursue them?" Ghost Hand asked, looking at Luo Zheng.
"Not yet. Firstly, they are formidable, and we may not catch them. Secondly, there might be more enemies lurking nearby. If we move out, they might infiltrate overnight. We must increase vigilance to guard against enemy infiltration." Lan Xue suddenly said with a serious expression.
"Agreed. Xue Er, stay hidden inside and watch the prisoners. Ghost Hand, do you know where Hook is? Let's go." Luo Zheng agreed.
"Hook, Hook, do you copy?" Ghost Hand didn't imdiately answer Luo Zheng's question but instead called through the earpiece. Soon, Hook's voice ca through the earpiece, saying he was resting in the room and would co over soon.
"No need to co right away. Increase alertness imdiately, double the sentries, arrange guards on the square, and guard against enemy infiltration." Luo Zheng imdiately instructed.
"Understood," Hook promptly agreed.
"Let's go and take a look," Luo Zheng said to Ghost Hand. They walked out of the wooden house and arrived at the square, where they saw the wounded all hanging their heads low, listless and resting with closed eyes.
Perhaps sensing soone coming, all the prisoners slowly opened their eyes. Seeing it was Luo Zheng and Ghost Hand, they imdiately showed angry and fierce looks. Luo Zheng let out a cold laugh indifferently and said to them, "You are prisoners of war, and prisoners should have the awareness of defeat. If not for your slight value, you might have already beco a pile of bones. I have good news for you; your country will soon co to ransom you back."
"Bastard, I'll definitely kill you," a prisoner said fiercely.
"Oh, really? Many have said that, including your Snow Bear Special Forces, and they all died under my gun. "Understood." Hook was taken aback, quickly caught on, and his gaze towards the prisoners beca unfriendly. He imdiately added a team of guards, encircled the prisoners, and shouted so local words, everyone cocked their guns.
Seeing this display, Luo Zheng couldn't help but smile wryly at Hook. Hook said bitterly, "If soone cos to rescue, we'll shoot them all dead. To hell with the ransom, these people are butchers, criminals who slaughtered our tribal warriors. If not for arming the tribe, by our rules, these people would be killed to avenge our fallen warriors."
"All for the tribe's future," Luo Zheng patted Hook on the shoulder. "You're a good tribal chief; your tribe will prosper under your leadership. By the way, are there any other tribes willing to co and help?"
"Not yet," Hook said helplessly. "They are all fence-sitters who won't co easily until the war outco is clear. We still need to win a few battles to show our might. Then they'll naturally co over, as they also do it for survival, which I understand."
"In a harsh survival environnt, one can only survive by relying on mighty forces. It's the law of the jungle, understandable but unacceptable. Forget about them. "Boom!" Suddenly, a massive explosion sounded, echoing distinctly in the night.
Luo Zheng looked towards the source of the sound, which was from the back mountain, his face turning cold. He said icily, "Seems like the enemy hasn't given up. Let's go, grab weapons. We're heading out to check."
"Yes," Ghost Hand and Hook responded almost simultaneously, their eyes turning sharp, the enemy's repeated provocations making them angry, murderous intent brewing.
