The battle situation was extrely dire. Under the cover of the Mountain Eagle Team's ten snipers, everyone retreated swiftly. However, the enemy's marksmanship was too precise, and a few people at the back were still shot down. Mountain Eagle's warning shocked Ghost Hand, who signaled Bao Li to speed up the retreat. Ghost Hand covered the rear himself, watching the enemies charging up one after another like leopards, unaffected by the night. Ghost Hand knew they had encountered experts and suddenly rembered the button bombs in his backpack, feeling a rush of excitent. He quickly took off the backpack and retrieved the bombs.
"Co on." Ghost Hand leaned against the tree, speaking coldly and unmoved by bullets hitting the large tree, his expression grim. He stuck a button bomb onto a randomly picked-up stone, tossing it behind him in a terrifying arc in the darkness.
"Boom!" A massive explosion rang out, and Ghost Hand even heard screams. There was no ti to observe the situation behind; he pushed off forcefully with his legs and darted forward like lightning, running ten ters in an instant. He attached another button bomb to a tree, set it to explode in ten seconds, and darted forward again.
Up ahead, Bao Li was providing cover fire, ready to receive Ghost Hand. Seeing Ghost Hand approach, he didn't ask questions, just turned to continue retreating. Ghost Hand swiftly stuck another button bomb on a tree one ter high, set it for a fifteen-second explosion, and then dashed wildly backward.
Before Ghost Hand could take cover, another massive explosion sounded behind him. Ghost Hand dove forward in a tiger pounce, got up, and took cover behind a large tree. He looked back to see the red shockwave from the explosion engulfed by the night. Vaguely, Ghost Hand saw more people pursuing, unaffected by the explosion.
"Co on." Ghost Hand quickly stuck three button bombs together, setting them for a twenty-second explosion. He signaled Bao Li and the others to retreat quickly and rolled to the side to hide under a large tree. He quickly stuck the three button bombs to himself. Hearing another explosion sound, he knew the second bomb had also exploded.
Using the explosion as cover, Ghost Hand quickly retreated, catching up with Bao Li and the others in a few steps. He shouted for them to run faster. Bao Li also understood the situation and shouted in their dialect for everyone to turn and run. They couldn't spare any thought to counterattacking the pursuing enemies. As they ran, Ghost Hand felt countless bullets chasing after them, and even heard the angry shouts of the enemy behind.
Over a hundred elite soldiers were pursuing a tribal force of more than thirty n. If they let them escape, it would be a disgrace for these soldiers. Ghost Hand understood the emotions of the pursuing forces behind and did not slow down, shouting for everyone to hurry. Though he couldn't understand the language, he believed everyone got the idea.
"Boom boom!" Suddenly, two massive explosions sounded. Ghost Hand knew the last mine had exploded. He couldn't hide his joy, but he didn't look back. Pulling Bao Li along, he quickly retreated. If they didn't leave now, when would they?
Under the cover of the huge explosions, they managed to put a considerable distance between themselves and the enemy. They ran quickly through the woods, in the dim forest, moving like starving wolves. There were fifty when they ca, but less than thirty returned, almost half lost. This battle result frustrated Ghost Hand greatly, but he had no choice but to lead them in retreat for now.
While running, Ghost Hand spoke into the earpiece, "Mountain Eagle, what's the situation?"
"Enemy snipers are around. You retreat first; we're also retreating orderly." Mountain Eagle said in a lowered voice.
Ghost Hand didn't dare ask more, afraid to distract Mountain Eagle in battle. Snipers facing experts must not lose focus; a mont's hesitation could be life or death. Feeling the enemies continuing their pursuit behind, Ghost Hand was filled with rage, preparing to stay and cover the rear. Suddenly, he heard Luo Zheng's voice through the earpiece, "Hurry and retreat, lure the enemy over."
"Huh? Yes," Ghost Hand was startled, but quickly reacted. Luo Zheng had already made his move, urging everyone to accelerate their retreat.
After a while, they arrived at a gentle mountain forest area where the surrounding trees were tall and lush, the ground was bare of weeds and covered with fallen leaves, and the light was even dimr. With the naked eye, visibility was no more than two ters, even with night vision devices, visibility was low. Ghost Hand, Bao Li, and others rushed in.
"Stop and counterattack," Luo Zheng suddenly said through the earpiece.
Ghost Hand was surprised, looking back in astonishnt. From the gunfire sounds behind, it was clear only a small squad was rushing to the front, just three to five n, with the main forces behind. Ghost Hand imdiately understood Luo Zheng's intention, quickly taking cover, changing magazines, and looking at Bao Li.
Bao Li looked at Ghost Hand, surprised, not understanding the situation. Why stop when they were retreating smoothly? Suddenly, the radio crackled, and Bao Li quickly grabbed the walkie-talkie hanging on his belt and exchanged a few words in their dialect. He shouted a few commands to the thirty or so n beside him, who quickly scattered and set up their weapons.
"This should have been done sooner." Ghost Hand imdiately realized that Hook had explained the tactical intent to Bao Li through the earpiece, sighing in relief. Language barriers were indeed troubleso on the battlefield. Without knowing complex combat hand signals, it was challenging to engage in deep communication. Fortunately, Hook was there.
Everyone checked their weapons and ammunition, ready for battle. The enemies were approaching, but they didn't fire, looking instead at Ghost Hand. Evidently, Hook had given so guidance, and seeing Luo Zheng without further orders, Ghost Hand knew it was up to him to act. He calmly observed the enemies charging in.
There were only five enemies in a combat attack formation. Ghost Hand huddled back, leaning against a large tree, ears attuned, silently calculating the enemies' pace and distance. Bao Li and others knew Ghost Hand's skill and courage, facing the approaching enemies without panic, choosing to trust and wait patiently. Ghost Hand initially worried they might lose their nerve, but seeing this, he was relieved.
Soon, the enemies were about ten ters away. Ghost Hand didn't give an order; instead, he leaned out, his gun barrel instantly locking onto the enemy charging in the forefront. He calmly pulled the trigger, unleashing a three-burst shot, with bullets roaring out in a trident formation.
The enemy at the front twisted his body bizarrely and dropped to the ground, managing to dodge Ghost Hand's deadly strike. Ghost Hand didn't see clearly, but the gunfire was the attack order. At that mont, Bao Li and the others, who had been watching Ghost Hand, quickly pulled their triggers, firing at the suspicious positions ahead. It was hard to see clearly, so they fired based on instinct.
The enemy at the front fortunately dodged Ghost Hand's shooting but couldn't escape the barrage of bullets from Bao Li and the others. On the battlefield, such disorderly, unpatterned, and even purposeless shooting inflicted the greatest damage on well-trained soldiers and was a feared fighting thod of veterans. Human psychology could predict and judge shooting routes, but such random fire was unpredictable.
