The sudden events caught the enemy by surprise. They all stopped their attack, staring in amazent at the scene. Only a handful of those in the know showed expressions of excitent, urging their troops to accelerate the assault. The opportunity was rare. Jackson, witnessing the scene, smiled and said softly with a cold grin, "Old friend, you have no chance." With a wave of his hand, all the reserve forces charged forward, ready to decide the outco in a single battle.

The second-line trench was about thirty ters from the front-line trench. The Hook Tribe had been instructed beforehand that if the enemy didn't trust and counterattacked, they should rush to the front-line trench as quickly as possible to assist in defense. If the enemy chose to trust and did not attack, they would slow down a bit, waiting for the people inside the front-line trench to counterattack before charging down.

Luo Zheng watched the scene with a cold gaze, silently timing everything. The people in the front-line trench had ducked down to change magazines, ready to launch the counterattack. The enemy, after a brief hesitation, surged forward again, especially the ones in the rear, rushing fiercely along the pathway. Without the threat of bullets, these people moved incredibly fast. The previous twenty or so elites suddenly accelerated their pace towards the mountaintop, drawing ever closer to the front-line trench.

As those twenty or so elites drew within thirty ters of the front-line trench, Luo Zheng glanced at Hook. Understanding the cue, Hook shouted sothing through the walkie-talkie. The Hook Tribe's ard forces, charging down from the second-line trench, suddenly stopped firing but sped up their advance towards the front-line trench. In case the plan failed, they would still have a place to take cover.

The gunfire overhead ceased. Those hiding in the front-line trench knew it was ti to counterattack. With a furious roar, they erged with murderous intent, launching a fierce barrage at the enemy in front. Rockets, bullets, button bombs, all launched almost simultaneously, roaring in the anger of the Death God, charging at the enemy.

As everyone engaged, those twenty or so elites were rely fifteen ters from the front-line trench. With no cover in between, they instantly beca pri targets. A barrage of intensive gunfire swept towards them. Their faces changed dramatically as they dived to dodge, avoiding the initial spray of bullets but unable to dodge the rapid successive shots. A re fifteen ters; even the fastest or the most elite couldn't escape being gunned down.

In an instant, nearly half of the twenty or so elites were gunned down before they could even retaliate. A few fierce ones, knowing there was no retreat, launched a counterattack in rage, attempting to breach the fifteen-ter gap but were caught by the descending Hook ard forces from the second-line trench. In elevated positions, dozens almost simultaneously attacked, riddling them with bullets.

The enemies in the middle of the passage also faced intensive gunfire, with button bombs thrown at them, taking out many as they had to dive and dared not move rashly. As for the reserves coming up from behind, they received focused attention from dozens of rockets. Mixed within the reserves, Jackson, seeing the rockets whistling towards them, realized it was a trap and his face changed dramatically, shouting orders for a retreat, but it was too late.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!" Nurous explosions went off, taking out a significant portion of the reserves.

Jackson lay flat on the ground, horrified by the scene, knowing he was defeated, defeated due to overconfidence. He had believed that controlling the Hooks ant he could force them to betray at a critical mont. The assault had been sowhat smooth monts before, at least progressing ahead, and victory seed only a matter of ti, especially once the opponent's ammo ran out. With a persistent push, victory would have been his.

Unanticipatedly, at this critical mont, Hook had struck out, and Jackson had chosen to trust him. The front-line trench was on the brink, and it seed entirely reasonable for Hook to betray at this ti. Jackson regretted bitterly, wishing to slap himself. How could he have bet victory on the hands of an enemy on the battlefield? Even if the other side had a weakness under his control.

Regret was too late. All rockets were unleashed in one go, and button bombs were flung with abandon from the trench, precisely landing in the passage. Jackson watched this, heart-wrenching with regret. If he hadn't forced the attack, they wouldn't have reached the hundred-ter line and fallen victim to the button bombs, given their limited throwing range. Seeing his twenty or so elite warriors being shot down, Jackson, enraged, almost passed out. Half of them were his brothers in life and death.

The defeat was spectacular and certain. Jackson knew he was beaten and suddenly rembered a previous conversation with Luo Zheng, when he pompously declared his rcy. Thinking back now, he realized what a fool he was. The other side knew his plan to have Hook betray him from the start.

The mountaintop launched a full-scale counterattack, with countless people charging out of the trenches, rushing madly down the mountain. Jackson knew there was no chance left. Watching his brothers fall one by one, his eyes flushed with red madness. With a surge of fury, he grasped a light machine gun, suddenly stood upright, and opened fire on the oncoming attackers, shouting hysterically, like a wounded tiger making its last stand.

"Puff!" A stray bullet whistled over, hitting him directly in the thigh, tearing away a large chunk of flesh. Jackson staggered a few steps, bracing against a tree, nearly falling. He tried to lift his gun again, but the pain in his thigh was severe, as if all his strength had been sucked away. Glancing down, he saw his leg was terribly mangled, with white bone showing through. The injury was severe; this leg was likely lost.

Without a leg, he couldn't continue being a warrior on the battlefield. It would be better to die. With furious eyes and gasping heavily, Jackson struggled to raise his gun again, firing once more, attracting soone's attention. It was Lang Sen.

Lang Sen, running fast, was at the forefront of the charge, fighting vigorously, nearly hit by the bullet. Turning around, he saw it was Jackson. Lang Sen, once captured by Jackson's n and asked to convey a ssage, knew Jackson was a big fish. Instantly, an idea sprang to mind, and he charged up, firing bullets at Jackson's arm.

With his thigh wounded, Jackson couldn't dodge quickly enough, and his arm was hit by bullets, causing him to drop his gun. He collapsed on the ground, a look of despair in his eyes. With his uninjured hand, he quickly drew a dagger and fiercely stabbed it towards his heart. Even in death, he wanted to die by his own hand, not by an unknown enemy. This was the pride and dignity of a strong man.

Losing to Luo Zheng didn't make Jackson feel injustice, only endless self-reproach, hating his overconfidence, hating his arrogance. If there was a chance, Jackson would have loved to spar with Luo Zheng again, but that opportunity was lost. So he chose death, to conclude this and give an account to his fallen brothers.

Lang Sen hurriedly ran over, and seeing the scene, quickly swung his gun to knock the dagger out of Jackson's hand. Having caught such a big fish, Lang Sen didn't want him to die just like that.
