As ti ticked by, Luo Zheng knew everyone was infiltrating upward. He looked back a few tis but didn't see a single figure, which greatly reassured him. If he couldn't even find them, the enemy surely couldn't either. He patiently waited, thinking of the two brutally murdered ard police officers, filling his heart with an overwhelming murderous intent. He couldn't help but glance at the nearby underground tunnel. A chilling murderous glint flashed through his sharp eyes, but he instantly reined it in, silently continuing to lie in wait for everyone to arrive.
Half an hour later, Lan Xue sneaked up, lying beside Luo Zheng to take a few peeks. Luo Zheng pointed towards the nearby stretch of the tunnel. A section was exposed, and during the day it was guarded, but at night it was quiet, likely aning everyone had crawled into the tunnel.
There were only ten minutes. Luo Zheng glanced at his watch, finding the timing just right, and swiftly contacted everyone. After confirming that all were in position, Luo Zheng sighed with relief and signaled to Lan Xue. Lan Xue nodded understandingly, and the two crouched down, using both hands and feet, charging forward swiftly under the cover of night like prowling hungry wolves.
The hidden position wasn't far from the tunnel. The two crouched down, using both hands and feet, running in intervals, stopping when the searchlight passed and continuing forward afterward, unknowingly reaching the section of the trench where the tunnel was exposed. Luo Zheng signaled Lan Xue to cover him, then pulled out the Tiger Teeth combat knife, clenching it in his mouth, crawling forward cautiously.
There was no reaction from the trench at all. Luo Zheng, both puzzled and cautious, slowed down, climbing up to inspect and found it empty; not a soul was present. The trench was about one and a half ters deep and two ters wide, reinforced with cross-beams on both sides, looking quite sturdy. Luo Zheng, curious, jumped down to survey, pondering that since this section was unmanned, the tunnel entrance should be at the other end connected to the trench. He looked up instinctively.
The other end neared the military camp. Luo Zheng couldn't help but speculate: "Could it really be as I guessed, the tunnel connects to the camp, with support readily available for the trench? Is the trench, circularly distributed, the first line of defense for the prison?" Thinking this, Luo Zheng felt a sudden realization, pondering as he spoke through the earpiece: "Xue Er, co over."
Quickly, Lan Xue crawled up, rolling into the trench with a flip. The two crouched, avoiding the searchlight. Luo Zheng quietly shared his analysis, with Lan Xue nodding in agreent. The two crouched and proceeded along the trench, with the trench providing cover, no worry about being detected by the searchlight.
The trench was circularly distributed, about three hundred ters in length, with nobody present along the way. The ground was solid and contained debris, indicating frequent visitation. The two alternated cover, unknowingly reaching the other end, where indeed there was a tunnel entrance, reinforced with cross-beams, looking quite solid. Inside, there was light, and two n stood guard at the door, smoking, with cigarette embers flickering red in the night.
Luo Zheng quickly signaled Lan Xue to stop, observing closely. After confirming it was only the two of them, he sighed with relief. Lan Xue reversed the grip on her Tiger Teeth combat knife, ready to strike, but was restrained by Luo Zheng. Even with only two guards, a forceful attack would be noticed; it needed to be handled cleverly.
Lan Xue looked at Luo Zheng in puzzlent, slowly retreating two steps, leaning against the trench, leaving it to him. Luo Zheng removed his camouflage, taking off the outer camouflage combat uniform and the Dragon Tooth battle blade, then gently removing the camouflage pants, revealing the black ninja clothes underneath. With the mask on, only his eyes were exposed, making the look even more convincing.
For mobility, everyone wore ninja clothes underneath the extrely bullet-resistant tight suits as a reserve. This ti, Luo Zheng had everyone bring the Dragon Tooth battle blade, which was forrly a captured Japanese sword. Seeing this, Lan Xue couldn't help but laugh. This was indeed a good idea to confuse the enemy. Confusing them for just two seconds was enough for Luo Zheng to kill the two enemies.
With everything ready, Luo Zheng threw Lan Xue a glance. Lan Xue nodded understandingly, attaching a suppressor to her pistol as a precaution. The suppressor could lessen, but not completely mute, the sound of bullets exiting the barrel. Luo Zheng planned a silent tactic; 'silent' aning no noise whatsoever, including the faint gunfire of a 'silent' pistol.
Luo Zheng checked the ti; precisely ten minutes had passed, and asked in a low voice: "Mountain Eagle?"
"Positioned." Mountain Eagle's faint voice ca through the earpiece.
"Action." Hearing the affirmative position response, Luo Zheng didn't hesitate to give the order to all teams. He strapped the Dragon Tooth on his back, walked directly forward, holding the Tiger Teeth reversed in his hand, secretly preparing for battle. Lan Xue followed closely and took cover, just in case.
Soon, Luo Zheng strode up, getting noticed by the two sentinels with about ten ters' distance remaining. The two shocked sentries aid their guns, cautiously watching the newcor, seeing him resembling a ninja, resisted the urge to fire. They exchanged confused glances as Luo Zheng walked forward briskly now.
The enemies' hesitation reassured Luo Zheng inwardly. With a bold front, he approached, shouting in Japanese: "You, co over here."
The two guards couldn't understand a word Luo Zheng was saying, becoming even more confused. Luo Zheng seized this opportunity to advance several more ters, arriving in front of them. Everything went more smoothly than imagined. One guard stepped forward, bowing low and rambling in the local dialect, displaying obvious subservience.
Seeing this, Luo Zheng grinned mischievously, striking swiftly, knocking out the man with a hand chop. With a forceful kick-off, his body shot across, seizing the other guard before he could react, clamping a hand over his mouth. The reverse grip of the Tiger Teeth combat knife cut a terrifying arc, swiftly plunging into the man's temple, destroying his nervous system, before deftly twisting several degrees to pull it out. The man's body went limp, dead on the spot.
Finishing with that guard, Luo Zheng looked over to see Lan Xue, like a leopard, leaping up, slitting the unconscious guard's throat instantly, again a one-hit kill. The man's legs twitched briefly before stilling. The two quickly concealed themselves in the shadows at the entrance, observing carefully.
The tunnel stretched deep, lit by a dangling bulb, reinforced with beams, its end unseen, and devoid of people. Luo Zheng resisted the impulse to venture in for a look, exchanging glances with Lan Xue. He swiftly retrieved three button bombs, checking the ti. Several minutes had passed. With no gunfire around, everyone's actions seed to be progressing smoothly. He sighed inwardly in relief, whispering: "Report your status."
"Watchtower secured, two machine gun posts secured," Snow Leopard reported in the earpiece.
"Two dark fortresses cleared, third will take three more minutes," Ghost Hand replied softly, a hint of heaviness in his tone. Suddenly, he shouted urgently: "Detected an anomaly."
