At the foot of the dim mountain, everyone lay hidden in the dense bushes, closely watching the squad coming down. With sharp eyes slightly closed, they suppressed the battle intent simring within, avoiding alarming this enemy unit. They gripped their rifles firmly, standing ready for battle, each like a lurking Fierce Beast of ancient tis, waiting for the perfect mont to strike and deliver a deadly blow to their prey at any ti.

Luo Zheng didn't move. Everyone watched the enemy forces drawing nearer, forced to hold back their urge to attack, lying tightly against the ground to avoid exposure. Not until the squad passed by laughing and chatting did they slowly raise their heads from the bushes, coldly watching the other party vanish into the distance. Finally, they looked towards Luo Zheng, who signaled for them to continue hiding, and they all knowingly settled back down, patiently waiting.

Ti ticked away second by second. The moon gradually erged from the clouds, and the silent wilds were void of any sound. This deathly silence combined with the black night pressed heavily upon them. Without professional training or without knowing many comrades were around, they couldn't bear this soundless oppression.

The wind picked up, gently brushing by, making the bushes sway with a slight rustling sound. If it were dayti, this sound would be inaudible; but on this deathly silent night, the rustling was distinctly clear, as if sothing was approaching. Looking back, there was nothing but endless blackness, intensifying the already existent oppressive feeling.

For seasoned veterans, death isn't frightening, but such voiceless pressure was unsettling, tornting enough to make one want to rush out and shout, firing wildly into the soundless, colorless night to chase away the unease within. This eerie oppressive sensation is only understood by those who've truly lurked in the wild at night. Everyone hoped the battle would start soon, ending this feeling of unease, even if it ant dying in battle.

In a thick forest by the distant dirt road, the scholar faced a similar problem. They've waited for over half an hour without any signs of anyone passing by. Who would co to this base in the middle of the night? Who from the base would leave easily? Without anyone coming, how was this battle to be fought?

Soon, an hour passed, and the scholar was sure all units were in ambush positions, just waiting for gunfire from his side. Without a target presenting itself, the battle couldn't proceed. With a stern face, he looked at the squad leaders beside him and commanded, "Forget it, no more waiting. We fight even without the enemy. Your squads go down, dig holes, and bury bombs to blow up this road section. Make so noise; it doesn't have to be big. We'll pretend."

"Understood." The nad squad leader replied, determined eyes flashing sharply. He waved his large hand, leading his squad down to the dirt road, picking up shovels to dig. After a dozen minutes, they had dug three holes in a triangular formation, each over a ter deep and approximately half a ter in diater. They tossed in Button Bombs and so grenades, which were plentiful from seizures, so they used more.

The scholar also led others down, with no enemy present, lurking in the forest was unnecessary. Seeing it was ready, he said, "Brothers, advance along the dirt road to support the other ambush team. Let's withdraw."

Just as he finished speaking, a flash of white light suddenly appeared in the distance; car headlights. The scholar was taken aback, then delighted, shouting, "Wait, business has arrived, everyone take cover in the mountain, make camouflage on the ground."

"Yes." Everyone rushed up the mountain to hide. A squad remained to clean up the site, piling the dirt on the road's side and covering the holes with pieces of fern. At first glance, it wasn't obvious; in the dead of night, the driver would never suspect the road had been tampered with and would not pay attention.

The squad responsible for aftermath also rushed into the woods to hide. Everyone waited excitedly. All the effort wasn't in vain; such bright lights in this dark mountain must be visible to other units too. Prepare for battle, the scholar sighed in relief, whispering, "Brothers, stay sharp and focused, aim well, we aren't rushing, take it easy."

Soon, a truck wobbled towards them on the uneven dirt road with many bends, moving slowly. Everyone waited patiently. Seeing it was just a single truck, the scholar lost interest, telling a nearby squad leader, "Detonate the trap when the truck hits it; save the bullets."

"Not curious about what's on the truck?" The squad leader chuckled.

"Not interested," the scholar remarked indifferently.

The truck slowly rolled up, its engine rumbling noisily in the quiet night, the incandescent headlights glaring, swaying as it unknowingly reached the minefield. The squad leader sneered and pushed the remote control without hesitation.

"Boom!" The Button Bomb was remotely detonated, triggering the grenades inside, producing a massive explosion as if the entire silent night was blasted open. The truck was flipped over, a ball of red light flashing with an all-devouring montum, smoke filling the air, quickly swallowed by the darkness.

"Charge, kill!" The scholar, seeing the success, was elated, shouting excitedly.

Everyone picked up their weapons and charged down, switching on their flashlights. Since the fight had begun, there was no need to hide, and they swept down like the wind, flashlights scanning everywhere. Reaching the truck's rear, they lifted the canvas, revealing a dozen or so warriors lying haphazardly dressed in Yue Country uniforms, all apparently dead or dying from the bomb.

"Finish them," the scholar, arriving, shouted joyfully at the sight.

Everyone aid at the heads of those inside the truck's compartnt, shooting, executing them all. Soone jumped up and threw the bodies down. The scholar shone a flashlight, seeing it filled with burlap sacks, he asked incredulously, "Open it."

A warrior drew a military knife to cut open a sack, revealing the white rice inside. The scholar was montarily stunned, then realized—it was a supply truck, and exclaid joyously, "Great, bring down five bags, quickly withdraw."

The truck, set ablaze by the explosion, had a fuel tank ready to blow, eliminating any prolonged stay. They quickly tossed down five bags, each over a hundred pounds, totaling over five hundred pounds. Swiftly retreating with the rice, they had run less than a hundred ters when a massive explosion rocked behind them. Looking back, they saw the entire truck consud by flas, its supplies now useless.

"Move faster," the scholar shouted excitedly, directing the team along the dirt road. Five minutes later, they arrived at an ambush point, swiftly ascending the hill to rendezvous with another team. All spread out and concealed, the scholar observed the enemy base buzzing with voices and flickering lights, knowing they attracted attention, and was overjoyed, shouting, "Business has arrived, everyone prepare. The grain-carrying brothers head to the back mountain, find a spot and bury the grain there."
