In the vast wilderness, clouds drifted lazily across the sky and a gentle breeze was intoxicating, yet the intense gunfire from the valley was shocking, adding a eerily deadly atmosphere to this ancient and peaceful wasteland. Crouched on a bare hillside, Luo Zheng lay in ambush, wearing a grey-brown camouflage suit, his body curled up as if he lded with the surrounding environnt. Had it not been for the occasional blink of his eyes, who would have guessed a person was lying in wait here?

As ti slowly passed, Luo Zheng began to admire the enemy across from him. There had been no movent for such a long ti; were they waiting for comrades to co to their rescue? Their endurance and patience were awe-inspiring. Facing such a formidable opponent, Luo Zheng's determination to eliminate the adversary only grew stronger. If he were to let the tiger return to the mountain, who knew when it might turn back to bite?

Behind him, the sound of gunfire in the valley grew clearer, an effect of its nearing proximity. Luo Zheng tensed up. Could it be that the enemy was charging over? If that was the case and without Monk and Scholar to assist, what about Gardener who was suppressed by gunfire in the valley? And what about the Farr, who provided covering fire for Gardener?

With this thought, Luo Zheng knew he could not wait any longer. He needed to quickly take care of the strong enemy in front. Slowly he stowed away his sniper rifle and took the AK47 from his back. After checking the magazine, the thirty-round magazine was full. A qualified sniper must be proficient with various firearms.

Luo Zheng estimated the distance and, considering the terrain ahead, a bold assault plan ford in his mind. The distance was about thirty ters; attacking from above, he could charge down in one fell swoop. Of course, there were two positions en route that could provide cover in case of ergency. At any ti, a sniper must prioritize his own safety. Only by ensuring his safety could he better support his teammates.

Once the route was determined, Luo Zheng calculated his ammunition. He would shoot while charging, using his bullets to suppress the enemy from retaliating. For the first ten ters, he could go a bit slower, five bullets would be enough. For the next ten ters, ten bullets should also suffice. With the remaining ten ters, and fifteen bullets left in the magazine, even if ten bullets were used to suppress, he would still have five bullets left for effective fire on the strong enemy.

For added insurance, Luo Zheng took the last grenade he had on him and hung it on his chest within easy reach, ready for use at any mont. After making all these preparations, Luo Zheng knew he could not wait any longer and suddenly dashed forward, his eyes locked tightly on the enemy's concealed position behind the earthen mound. Perhaps sensing the impending danger, the enemy raised his gun barrel and fired blindly, relying on instinct.

This counter-attack tactic seed useless, but its effectiveness varies from person to person. For an expert, especially a rcenary who constantly walks on the edge of death, they have incredible intuition and are extrely sensitive to danger. They can sense the location of the threat, and since blind firing lacks pattern, not even the shooter knows where the next bullet will go. The erratic bullets are hard to dodge, creating an unexpectedly deterring effect.

Luo Zheng had anticipated this possibility. Despite having the upper hand and charging downhill, he couldn't be careless. Seeing the enemy's gun barrel move, he instinctively fell backward to the ground, his body sliding forward. Tilted his head slightly and with his gun aid at the enemy's, he decisively fired two shots in rapid succession.

"Pop, pop!" The bullets struck near the enemy's gun barrel, which quickly withdrew. However, several bullets fired in the enemy's ferocious burst passed nearly a ter above Luo Zheng's head. The scorching trajectory of the bullets was unnerving. Had he not been prepared and dropped to the ground in ti, he would have certainly been hit.

The sudden change in the sound of gunfire alerted the enemy that sothing was amiss. Coupled with the shuffling noise as Luo Zheng's body slid downhill, the enemy knew that danger was upon them. Ignoring everything, they once again fired upwards. Luo Zheng didn't hesitate to return fire. With a bizarre twist of his body, he turned his sliding motion into a roll, accelerating his descent.

After rolling for over ten ters, Luo Zheng hid behind a mound of earth, silently counting the enemy's bullets. From the sound of the gunfire, he could tell they were using an M16 automatic assault rifle, which has an effective range of 600 ters and is suitable for advancing into battle, with a magazine capacity of 30 rounds. Counting to 30, Luo Zheng suddenly leaped up and charged down the slope.

Changing magazines took ti, even for the most skilled gunman it required a second or two. For Luo Zheng, that ti was enough to dash more than ten ters. At this critical mont of life and death, Luo Zheng burst forth with unprecedented speed, almost leaping down like a Golden Eagle on a hunt. With just a couple of bounds, he covered twelve or thirteen ters and hid behind another mound.

By then, the enemy's gun barrel was spewing flas once again. Luo Zheng took cover behind the raised earth, hearing bullets whizzing by with clear intent. He had perhaps overestimated this guy's abilities. Gritting his teeth, he pulled out a hand grenade. After removing the safety pin and waiting for one second, he threw it. A distance of about ten ters posed no difficulty.

The grenade traced a beautiful arc and landed accurately near the enemy. Luo Zheng didn't wait for the explosion and had already dashed out of cover, charging toward the enemy's position with guns blazing, blocking off any possible escape routes in anticipation of the enemy's evasion. The grenade's explosion would take a second—a second in which a skilled fighter could leap out five or six ters and lie flat to avoid the shrapnel flying in all directions from the blast.

As he ran, Luo Zheng spotted a dark figure flinging itself from behind cover, like a startled tiger, swift as lightning. Coincidentally, his gunfire ant to secure the area was already trained on that trajectory, and his cold eyes sparkled more chillingly, peppering the surrounding area with intense fire.

Almost at the sa ti, the grenade exploded, the powerful blast sending mud flying all around and filling the air with smoke. Luo Zheng slowed his charge but not the firing of his gun, continuing to aim at locations where the enemy might attempt to flee, shooting round after round in what seed like a rhythmic lody without any pause.

To turn single shots into a burst required extraordinary gun sense and skill!

After emptying an entire magazine, Luo Zheng rolled onto the ground and quickly changed the clip, his eyes intently fixed on the gradually dispersing smoke. His eyes shone like bright stars in the night sky but carried a cold murderous aura. His youthful face showed resolute determination, and his gun barrel was aid steadily, without a single tremble.

Shortly after, Luo Zheng saw a person—or rather, a body—lying about five or six ters away from the blast. To be precise, riddled with at least three bullet wounds, bleeding profusely. The body was motionless, but Luo Zheng still didn't let his guard down. These experts had strong vitality, and to be absolutely sure, Luo Zheng calmly aid at the person's head.

"Bang!" A shot to the head.

Luo Zheng let out a sigh of relief, glancing over at another enemy who was motionless at a distance. With such a large wound in the abdominal area, nobody could survive. After taking down two tough enemies, Luo Zheng felt no joy. Concerned that his comrades were still facing life and death danger, he quickly scoured the battleground, emptied the weapons and ammo from the bodies, and didn't forget to check the back of their necks. Both had a lifelike wolf head tattoo.
