Attacking the palace is definitely an extrely challenging task. Yuanfei Zuo, being experienced, clearly understands the benefits of attacking the palace, but he also feels uncertain. Without an ideal plan, Yuanfei Zuo would rather cancel the idea and place his hopes on Luo Zheng, who also feels uncertain and starts to ponder.
The moonlight is like water and silk, gently enveloping everyone, taking away the restless killing aura from them. Luo Zheng's heart gradually calms down. He closes his tiger-like eyes slightly and starts to think quietly. Understanding Luo Zheng's thinking habits, Lan Xue gestures to Yuanfei Zuo to keep silent as he seems about to ask questions, and everyone waits patiently.
The wind blows gently, carrying a hint of earthy fragrance. The quiet wilderness around them echoes with the chirping of unknown insects, adding a touch of vitality to the gray bleak wilderness. The four stand silently in the square, saying nothing, letting the wind brush against their faces, making their thoughts clearer and sharper.
Not knowing how much ti has passed, Luo Zheng suddenly recalls the ti he protected General Liu's family in Beijing and has a sudden idea, linking these thoughts together and simulating them in his mind. Gradually, a plan forms unconsciously in his mind, making him reveal a relaxed smile.
"Thought of a solution?" Lan Xue asks softly and concerned.
Yuanfei Zuo and Xinzi also look at Luo Zheng with concern. Luo Zheng smiles and says, "I have an idea, but it needs validation. Give a map of the Capital City's underground network, including water, electricity, gas, and communication grids. Also, shouldn't I take a bath and change clothes? I can't keep wearing clothes stained with blood, right?"
"That's my oversight, I'll arrange it right away and also prepare so supper, please follow ." Yuanfei Zuo gives Xinzi a look, and Xinzi apologizes and goes to prepare. Yuanfei Zuo leads Luo Zheng and Lan Xue into a complex of buildings, passing through several corridors, seeing many sentries along the way, as well as hidden sentries, truly heavily guarded.
Unconsciously, they arrive at a separate room in the backyard, with people guarding around. Yuanfei Zuo claps his hands, and four hidden sentries erge from the darkness, line up respectfully looking at Yuanfei Zuo. He waves his hand to signal everyone to disperse. Once it is clear there's no need for alert, Yuanfei Zuo pushes the door open and politely says to Luo Zheng, "Apologies, but you two will temporarily stay here, please."
Luo Zheng and Lan Xue exchange a glance and walk inside. The room is over a hundred square ters, a three-bedroom one-living-room suite, simply decorated without any luxury items, but equipped with all necessary furniture. Yuanfei Zuo greets them and says he will also go wash up and return, then closes the door and leaves.
After Yuanfei Zuo leaves, Lan Xue looks at Luo Zheng with concern and asks, "Do you have a plan?"
"Yes, we'll talk later." Luo Zheng nods, calmly inspecting the surrounding rooms. Not seeing any caras, he locks the door and enters the bathroom, carefully checking it as well, confirming there's no surveillance before taking off his clothes for a shower. After the wash, he wears back his tight-fitting clothes, equips the signal device, weapons, and other gear, sees a bathrobe and n's clothes in the cabinet, picks up a piece and puts it on, then exits the bathroom.
Sitting in the living room was Lan Xue, who rises and also goes into the bathroom. In an unfamiliar environnt, neither dares to let their guard down, they take turns showering to ensure that if sothing happens, soone can handle it. After sitting down, Luo Zheng contacts the troops. Upon learning the details of what happened with the Ghost Group, he knowingly smiles.
Soon after, Lan Xue finishes showering, wears a loose bathrobe, and keeps her equipnt on, not daring to set them aside but they are hidden under the robe. The ninja clothes she had worn before are stained with blood and have been left aside. Sitting diagonally across from Luo Zheng, she looks at him and asks, "You're in a good mood, what's up?"
Luo Zheng doesn't speak imdiately—who knows if there are listening devices in the room? Instead, he points at his ear. Lan Xue understands, quietly activates her signal device, and puts on the invisible earpiece. Through the earpiece, Lan Xing informs her of the events. Upon hearing them, Lan Xue knowingly smiles as well.
At that mont, soone approaches outside, soon followed by knocking and Yuanfei Zuo's voice, "It's and Xinzi, can we co in?"
Luo Zheng gets up to open the door, seeing Yuanfei Zuo and Xinzi both in kimonos. They seem to have showered as well, appearing less fierce and more approachable, with food baskets in hand containing so marinated dishes and sake. Luo Zheng steps aside, letting them enter. Yuanfei Zuo and Xinzi politely exchange greetings as they co in, placing the dishes and wine on the coffee table. Luo Zheng closes the door and says, "Looks quite a feast, I'm really hungry now."
"Let's chat over eating," Yuanfei Zuo says courteously, pouring drinks for everyone.
Xinzi quickly takes a laptop from the basket, pulls up several images, and hands it to Luo Zheng, who inspects them carefully. They are maps of the underground network. After viewing for a few minutes, Luo Zheng sets the laptop aside, looking at Yuanfei Zuo who is quietly waiting beside him. Yuanfei Zuo smiles excitedly and says, "Co, drink a little, let's chat over eating."
"You eat first; I need to process so treatnt," Luo Zheng casually says, his mind full of the blueprints he just saw. Yuanfei Zuo and Xinzi exchange a glance but don't dare move, patiently waiting. A few more minutes pass before Luo Zheng's eyes suddenly open from a slightly closed state. He smiles and says, "Alright, let's eat a bit first, then talk."
Upon hearing Luo Zheng has a plan, everyone suppresses their curiosity and starts eating. After casually having so food, Luo Zheng opens a bottle of mineral water and takes a few sips, clearing his throat to draw everyone's attention and gradually lets his expression turn serious before saying earnestly, "Attacking the palace requires solving two primary problems: how to attack and how to retreat."
"Indeed, the palace is heavily guarded. Before we even get in, we risk being entirely shot dead. Moreover, when ti drags on, reinforcents will arrive. If we don't solve this problem, the success rate won't reach even ten percent. After a successful attack, if retreat isn't swift and we get caught, identity exposure would be troubleso as well," Yuanfei Zuo concurs.
"We have two approaches: indirect attack and direct attack. Currently, direct attack seems incredibly difficult, best kept as a simple backup. An indirect attack seems more feasible," Luo Zheng says seriously, nodding.
"Two approaches? Tell about them," Yuanfei Zuo asks eagerly.
"Indirect attack doesn't involve direct close combat but rather using the underground network to quietly infiltrate near the palace and use poison. This shouldn't be too difficult for you ninjas, right?" Luo Zheng explains, deliberately pausing and looking at Yuanfei Zuo.
"Of course, that's not a problem. How exactly do we proceed?" Yuanfei Zuo says confidently. Ninjas have three major skills: sword skill, safety, and using poison.
"Then it's easy. Let's proceed this way," Luo Zheng breathes a sigh of relief and smiles.
