Luo Zheng was well aware of the poison attack plan; as he watched the shaky television footage with panicked people faintly visible, he suddenly realized and laughed, "The poison mice have struck. Yuanfei Zuo truly has advanced poison skills, being able to control the timing of its activation. That person who mastered poison techniques must be eliminated; otherwise, it will be unfavorable to us."
"Unseen poisoning of mice and controlling the virus activation ti is indeed impressive; this person must be taken out. At the ti when Yuanfei Zuo proposed this person, I didn't believe it. With the dense underground palace pipelines and so much water, how could the toxicity be controlled? Now it seems Yuanfei Zuo has many unknown experts; he claid to have three Chrysanthemum Ninjas, but I think there are more, and he's keeping so from us." Lan Xue reminded seriously, her eyes focused on the screen with a hint of worry.
"In a collaboration, there's bound to be so withholding; isn't that the sa for us? I reckon Yuanfei Zuo will arrange for soone to assassinate at the hospital. It's ti to inform Shijing Kong." Luo Zheng stated, his tone becoming icy, his gaze on Lan Xue continuing, "I'm planning to have a Sniper infiltrate nearby and lie in ambush, and snatch the chance to eliminate the target. What do you think?"
"I think it's feasible." Lan Xue replied knowingly, contemplated for a while with a serious face, and continued, "We won't need too many people, just you and would be convenient."
"That's good too." Luo Zheng agreed after so thought.
As the two were tidying up and getting ready to head out, the television screen changed, showing a scene of reporters crowding around Shijing Kong. They stopped and looked on in surprise as Shijing Kong coldly said, "Ladies and gentlen, I do not know who attacked my residence, nor who kidnapped my grandson, but I trust the governnt and the Pri Minister to seek justice and bring the culprit to the law. For now, please allow to return and assess the situation. Thank you."
Imdiately, a group surged forward, pushing past reporters, escorting Shijing Kong away. The reporters did not resist, stepping aside one by one. A reporter appeared in a scene close-up, passionately narrating, "Dear viewers, this is a live report from our station at the hospital. Last night, Mr. Shijing Kong's ho was attacked by unidentified assailants, resulting in injuries that led to his son's hospitalization. Within two hours, Shijing Kong's only grandson was kidnapped, suspected to be a revenge attack."
"Ah—!" The reporter suddenly scread and took off running wildly, the cara shaking as the caraman followed, creating a chaotic scene. Luo Zheng was shocked, quickly sat back on the sofa, continuing to watch. Soon, the reporter, still terrified, shouted at the cara, "Dear viewers, just monts ago, Mr. Shijing Kong was assaulted by an unknown assailant; he was injured, unconscious, and escorted back to the hospital. Our station will continue to follow up on this event."
The scene switched to show the hospital entrance teeming with panicked citizens. No perpetrators were in sight, nor was any pursuit happening. Luo Zheng looked at Lan Xue regretfully, his face darkened as he said, "This event is suspicious; what do you think?"
"Yuanfei Zuo's n wouldn't publicly assassinate; it's too crude. I suspect Shijing Kong staged this performance himself, with unclear motives." Lan Xue said seriously.
"Makes sense." Luo Zheng agreed, mirroring Lan Xue's thoughts, and focused on the TV screen in frustration, as no valuable footage appeared to assess the situation fully. With a serious expression, he said, "It appears Shijing Kong might be faking his death to cover for a retaliation. Who would suspect a critically injured, comatose person to mount a covert counterattack? His counter-attack is likely starting, which caught us completely off guard."
"After being attacked continuously, no one can remain unruffled; Shijing Kong has held out well. Any new ideas you have?" Lan Xue asked softly.
"Let's disguise ourselves and head to the scene," Luo Zheng suggested.
"That works, I'll go fetch sothing from the ambassador." Lan Xue replied quietly and hurried off.
Soon, Lan Xue returned, carrying two silicon masks, two sets of embassy uniforms, and two identity cards, stating, "The hospital surely is on high alert; having these public, legal docunts ans we don't need to worry about checks. We can go under the pretext of visiting a patient without bringing weapons."
"That's good." Luo Zheng agreed, with their skills, they don't need weapons for protection or taking lives. However, Luo Zheng still strapped a belt around his waist, inside of which was clay-made spikes, non-tallic, difficult to detect but harder and sharper than regular tal, great for killing.
The two disguised themselves, changed into the work uniforms, took the identity cards, and left their room, heading outside the embassy to hail a taxi directly to the hospital. Along the way, they remained silent, switching taxis twice to ensure they weren't being followed before arriving at the hospital entrance.
The hospital entrance was already under police blockade. Everyone entering had to pass security checks, with personnel wielding tal detectors and bomb detectors. Citizens were cooperative, knowing mishaps implicate everyone. Luo Zheng noticed soone at the entrance with two wolf dogs and several covert-looking plainclothes officers feigning casual observation but actually paying close attention to the entrance crowd, likely law enforcent.
Lan Xue approached, linking her arm with Luo Zheng's, snuggly leaning close. They didn't need to pretend to be a couple, looking very natural; even skilled officers couldn't discern truth from false easily. Luo Zheng calmly noted the surroundings, queued to enter the hospital.
"ID cards!" A policeman approached and inquired.
Luo Zheng and Lan Xue handed over their work IDs, which the officer checked and returned, his tone more polite, after all, they were Ministry of Foreign Affairs staff, deserving different treatnt. He courteously said, "Sorry, please undergo the checks, thank you for your cooperation."
Luo Zheng nodded silently, spreading his arms as a policeman approached with a tal detector. After finding no tal, they allowed him to proceed. A few steps further, another officer checked with a bomb detector and cleared him; Luo Zheng smoothly entered the hospital.
Lan Xue followed closely, also entering without issue. They calmly joined the queue at the registration counter, attempting full imrsion in their act while secretly observing the surroundings, noticing many suspicious figures within the crowd vigilantly examining everyone, the air subtly filled with a murderous tension.
