Two people who once admired each other have beco irrevocable mortal enemies. Jackson glared at Luo Zheng with resentnt, trying hard to suppress the anger in his heart and force himself to calm down. As a qualified soldier, Jackson knew very well that impulsiveness would only lead to a worse defeat and, beyond that, served no purpose. His angry gaze gradually cald down, and his tightly clenched face relaxed a bit. He said coldly, "See you."
"See you," Luo Zheng replied without showing weakness. Watching Jackson turn to leave, Luo Zheng headed towards his own team, pondering every word and expression from Jackson earlier, becoming even more certain that his judgnt was correct.
After returning to the villa, Luo Zheng quickly gathered everyone for a eting. With a determined look, he glanced at everyone and recounted Jackson's words in detail, finally adding, "It's beyond doubt that Jackson is targeting us and he's prepared for this. From his words, it seems he already knows about the Viper incident."
"It makes sense. Otherwise, he wouldn't have said sothing like 'sleep with one eye open.' However, I feel like he's intentionally alerting us, not accidentally letting it slip. The aim is to keep us on high alert for the five-day summit. We cannot stay sleepless for five days—any lapse, and they'll seize the opportunity," Lan Xue reminded.
"Hmm, let the Squad Leader take command for the first three days, and we'll determine the plan for the remaining two days based on the situation," Luo Zheng said earnestly, glancing at Hong ihua.
Everyone was a little surprised to see Luo Zheng, then Hong ihua, wondering why the strategy changed. But they weren't foolish; after thinking it over, they understood the rationale, nodding knowingly without objection. Hong ihua pondered briefly and said, "It could be to keep us tense or to numb us. Either way, we must not be careless. Mountain Eagle, Snow Leopard, and Ghost Hand will handle security at the site overnight. We'll handle the day shift protection. Does anyone have any objections?"
"No," everyone stood up and said.
"We took out the Viper on the plane, but the enemy might not know the specifics, or even that we figured out the thod of the assassination. Of course, we cannot rule out the possibility that soone in the entourage has been bought off. Therefore, the Chairman's changed clothes are very important. Mountain Eagle, you must keep a close watch. If the Viper attacks, it ans the enemy is unaware that we know their thod. If there's no attack, then there's a bigger problem. The attack could co tonight, or even during the day," Hong ihua instructed seriously.
"Understood, I'll keep watch soon," Mountain Eagle quickly agreed.
"Try to capture the attacking Viper. At worst, you must kill it," Hong ihua instructed.
"Understood," Mountain Eagle readily agreed.
After discussing for a while, everyone dispersed to their tasks. Luo Zheng went to the Chairman's reception room while the Chairman rested to adjust to the ti difference in the inner bedroom. Luo Zheng lay on the sofa to rest, patiently waiting. The enemy could act at any ti, and excessive tension would only drain his energy, which was inadvisable.
Ti passed by without any unexpected happenings. By noon, the host invited them to a welco banquet, a high-profile state banquet held in a luxurious hall. The leaders of various countries t in another luxurious private room without any entourage, discussing matters unknown to others.
Luo Zheng sat with high-ranking officials in the outer hall, accompanied by high-ranking officials from the host country. Luo Zheng wasn't interested in political matters and sat with the staff, eating quietly without socializing. Just as he was half-full, soone ca over to greet him. It was the chief responsible for security from the host country.
For ease of work, eting and greeting the security personnel from various countries was reasonable. Hong ihua gave Luo Zheng a look, signaling him to step forward. Luo Zheng nodded in understanding, without being pretentious, stood up and was warmly welcod by the other party using an international common language, reaching out to shake hands with Luo Zheng.
A handshake was also a form of understanding, indicating closeness. Just as Luo Zheng was about to extend his hand, he noticed a familiar person approaching, hesitated, looked closely, and found the figure familiar but couldn't recall the na. Hesitating for a mont, the host's chief of security, waiting for Luo Zheng's handshake, changed his expression slightly, thinking Luo Zheng was unwilling to shake hands with him, an act quite impolite diplomatically.
The host's chief of security snorted lightly, turned around, and went to another table to shake hands and chat. Luo Zheng, however, stared suspiciously at the familiar person sitting at a nearby table, seemingly oblivious to his presence. Luo Zheng curiously pondered, who exactly was this person, and why did they feel so familiar?
Luo Zheng was just about to ask Lan Xue to help identify the person when suddenly, there was a commotion nearby. Startled, he quickly turned to look, only to find soone suddenly collapsing to the ground, convulsing, and foaming at the mouth. Standing nearby was the host's chief of security, and everyone around stood up, looking at the scene in astonishnt.
"Epilepsy?" Luo Zheng wondered, looking at the convulsing person on the ground and glanced at Lan Xue, who shook her head, indicating not to act rashly.
"Poisoned," Hong ihua whispered into Luo Zheng's ear.
"Poisoned?" Luo Zheng was shocked, glanced at Hong ihua, and then widened his eyes at the convulsing person on the ground, only to find the person kicked their legs twice and then stopped moving. At this mont, a large number of guards rushed in, looking solemnly at the motionless person on the ground, their gaze falling on the chief responsible.
Luo Zheng suddenly noticed the chief of security staring at his own hand, shocked, not directing the guards to deal with the situation, which was very unusual. Then, soone at the table suddenly pointed at the chief and shouted, "You killed our person; you are the murderer. Give us an explanation."
"I didn't," the chief defended in fright, but his words were weak, and beads of sweat appeared on his forehead.
"Still deny it? Our person collapsed after shaking hands with you. Show us your hand," shouted another person angrily, stepping up to the chief.
The chief quickly retracted the hand he had been examining. This evasive action shocked those around him. Perhaps realizing it was inappropriate, the chief hesitated, then still opened his hand, letting soone examine it. The person pointed to the ring and shouted, "Still say it's not you? There's a poison needle on the ring; if not you, then who?"
The chief's face turned gray and said nothing, perhaps realizing the gravity of the situation, his body softened, and he collapsed to the ground. Seeing this, the other guards looked at each other, not knowing what to do. Finally, two ca forward to support him, while the others surrounded him for protection, contacting their superiors.
