Early the next morning, as the sun leaped out from the horizon, its reddish glow sprinkled warmth and vitality onto the world. People, having rested through the night, began pouring out of their hos—so heading to work, others to study or exercise. The quiet city once again beca bustling. Sunlight stread through the windows and fell around the eting room, bringing a sense of tranquility and harmony. Luo Zheng, who hadn't slept all night, quietly gazed out the window, secretly relieved that the perilous night had finally passed.
"I'm going to handle so matters. If there's anything, look for the guards outside." Steve gave Luo Zheng a glance, filled with suspicion, before leaving. Steve also hadn't slept well that night, worried that Luo Zheng might take action, which would be detrintal regardless of whom he hard. A calm night brought Steve so relief as well.
"Go ahead." Luo Zheng waved his hand, agreeing casually, while his mind was filled with thoughts of revenge. The so-called State Preceptor of Yin Country used venomous snakes to kill, resulting in the deaths of three corporate representatives. The whereabouts of the Yinxiang Group's head were unknown, and the person who died at their ho was still unidentified. Now another staff mber was killed, resulting in several fatalities. This vengeance must be exacted; otherwise, where is the national pride? What is the mission of a soldier?
Luo Zheng sat quietly in the eting room for a while, familiarized himself briefly upon returning to his room, and then escorted the Chairman to breakfast. As planned, there would be a half-hour break after breakfast, followed by a business negotiation eting where so contracts would be signed. However, they were to withdraw in the evening. Whether the plan would proceed as initially intended, Luo Zheng didn't know, nor did he plan to inquire. After breakfast, he escorted the Chairman to their residence for a rest.
Just as they settled down, Zhongnanhai's bodyguards announced Steve's arrival, who seed very agitated. Luo Zheng froze, imdiately realizing sothing was wrong, subtly allowing everyone to let him through. He went to the living room to greet him, seeing Steve stomping in angrily, and Luo Zheng approached and asked, "What's going on this early in the morning?"
"The Yin Country delegation had an incident. Three people died, two of whom were staff mbers, along with a high-ranking official. The cause of death is unknown. Tell , what on earth happened?" Steve, seeing no one around, rushed to Luo Zheng and whispered angrily.
"Oh? Really?" Luo Zheng paused, secretly overjoyed. This venomous snake recognized scents, not people, and he was glad to have collected so interest. Yet, he maintained a serious expression and asked, "How should I know why they died? You should be asking them, shouldn't you? Are you suspecting us?"
Steve indeed suspected Luo Zheng and his team, but he specifically monitored things last night and secretly briefed the surrounding guards. He hadn't noticed anything unusual; no one left—how could they act? However, thinking of the clothes Luo Zheng particularly ntioned, Steve was sure sothing was fishy here. Without evidence, he couldn't act directly, so he continued in a consultative tone, "You surely know sothing; tell ?"
"I truly don't. Our people were all in their rooms, as you know. How could they act? By the way, how did the deceased die?" Luo Zheng asked sternly, dissatisfied. It concerned national image; this couldn't be admitted to.
Others ca up to inquire, and upon learning of the deaths within the Yin Country, everyone speculated on the cause but no one made it explicit. They expressed so sympathy and left, leaving Luo Zheng to deal with Steve alone. Holding back laughter, Luo Zheng maintained a sorrowful expression and said gravely, "Mr. Steve, our people died without reason, and now the Yin Country delegation also has casualties. Although the cause is unknown, there seems to be an issue here. You better investigate; otherwise, we can't explain to the deceased."
"Alright." Steve looked at Luo Zheng doubtfully. His instincts told him that the person before him knew the inside story, but with the other party staying silent, he couldn't force it. Thinking for a mont, he continued to probe, "The situation with the Yin Country representatives is similar to your deceased, with no apparent cause of death; it's rather bizarre. If it were you, how would you investigate?"
"This is not my country. You should be responsible for the deceased. Ours, Yin Country's, a total of four lives, I hope your side gives us a reasonable explanation. You'd better find out quickly; otherwise, if the perpetrator strikes again, more people could be hard. How will your country face that?" Luo Zheng said discontentedly, kicking the ball back to him, deciding not to assist further.
"Oh? Alright then." Realizing Luo Zheng's unwillingness to help, Steve helplessly agreed and swiftly left with a grim expression. So many casualties ant the end of Steve's career, bringing endless trouble to his country; he needed to discuss redial actions with the President quickly.
After sending Steve off, Luo Zheng checked the ti and swiftly went to the second floor and knocked on the Chairman's door. The Chairman saw Luo Zheng coming and smiled, "You've co at the right ti. Hong ihua just inford of the situation. Well done, it's at least so vengeance for the comrades who died gruesoly, but it's still not enough. National dignity must be washed clean with enough enemy blood. The Yin Country is Sam Country's accomplice, severely blocking our western region and recently being active on the borders. With tensions high, we must teach them a significant lesson."
"Yes, once I send you back to the country, our Fourth Squadron will imdiately take action," Luo Zheng replied earnestly.
"Alright." After a brief mont of contemplation, the Chairman agreed.
After a short discussion, they went downstairs where everyone was ready. With Zhongnanhai's bodyguards escorting, they left the residence. The host country's guards ca to protect, and everyone proceeded to the Congress Building. The Chairman and so high-ranking officials headed upstairs while Luo Zheng and others were blocked outside.
"The Yin Country representatives are here," Lan Xue whispered, tugging at Luo Zheng's sleeve.
Luo Zheng turned his head and indeed saw a group of people dressed in Yin Country attire coming over. They were serious and silent, quietly arriving at the Congress Building's entrance. Luo Zheng noticed several pairs of eyes locked on him, radiating a cold aura. He sneered disdainfully and glared back unflinchingly.
This was the host country. Steve, with a large number of guards, was on standby. Both sides couldn't engage openly and could only exchange glares, silently provoking each other, trying to incite the other side to act first. However, Luo Zheng was exceptionally calm and wouldn't fall for their trick. Sneering disdainfully, he made a throat-slitting gesture at one of them and then raised his middle finger.
The other party's face turned livid with anger, about to rush forward, but was held back by two people on either side, thus avoiding a direct confrontation. These reactions from the Yin Country made Luo Zheng realize there was indeed sothing fishy about them. He guessed that it was due to the clothes with scents reaching their residence. Everyone knew this in their hearts but didn't speak it out loud, yet the hatred brewed within.
The high-level Yin Country representatives went upstairs, leaving a middle-aged man to walk toward Luo Zheng with a stern face. Luo Zheng snorted coldly, eting him without losing an ounce of montum.
