Two weeks later, one morning, Fourth Squadron eting room.
All the core mbers of the Fourth Squadron were present for this eting, and the agenda had only one item: assassinating the State Preceptor of Yin Country. Everyone sat quietly, with straight backs, eyes fixed on the electronic big screen ahead as Lan Xing explained seriously while typing on the keyboard: "Gentlen, according to intelligence reports compiled by relevant departnts, we've finally identified this individual as the State Preceptor." When in work mode, Lan Xing showed none of his usual quirky character.
On the electronic screen appeared a person dressed like a Lama, looking kindly and wise, a typical high monk image. Yet, everyone avoided judging by appearance and instead engraved the person's facial features deeply in their minds. Luo Zheng also studied the individual calmly, asking skeptically, "This person does have a certain appearance that could deceive many followers. Not simple. Where is he now?"
"Intelligence indicates he is cultivating in a monastery, built in a desolate snowfield, unknown to any roads, only a rough area known." Lan Xing quickly agreed, typing briskly on the keyboard to bring up satellite aerial images, which gradually zood out to reveal a large area of plateau and forest.
Seeing this scene, Luo Zheng's expression grew grim, asking, "Is the information reliable?"
"The information is reliable; it is said to be the birthplace of their sect, also considered the headquarters. Only high monks qualified may cultivate here. However, no one knows the exact location, making it mysterious, with no more data available." Lan Xing explained sowhat reluctantly.
Luo Zheng nodded in thought, everyone pondered, and after a while, Luo Zheng suddenly said, "Yin Country can probably guess we would retaliate. The State Preceptor hides here, thinking we can't find the place. Given the limited intelligence, the area is too vast; finding it indeed won't be easy. Aside from plateau snow mountains, it's just primitive forest—harsh conditions, not fit for survival. We must find it quickly, strike swiftly."
"If the target hides in a monastery, defense should not be abundant. We don't need many people, provided there's an exact location for the monastery. Hit swiftly and leave, prolonged ti is unfavorable for us. Any way to find the exact location?" Lan Xue pondered, looking at Hong ihua.
"Since high monks have practiced here, they must know the route. Find one who went and inquire; let the National Security people handle this, they know what to do." Hong ihua suggested.
"They've already tried; everyone is very stubborn, choosing death over telling. National Security has no better thod, already approached three people, generating heightened attention in Yin Country; inconvenient to take further action. The Military Intelligence Departnt has also made no progress recently. More importantly, we don't know who has practiced there and who hasn't. The three we know are already deceased, suspect targets are hidden." Lan Xing quickly explained.
"It seems they are already wary, which is unfavorable to us." Luo Zheng's expression darkened, brows furrowing, pondering while continuing, "First, we must ensure there aren't ambushes around. Second, narrow the scope as much as possible, reduce search ti. Third, this mission is very special; too many people risk exposure. Let's use our original squad." Saying this, he looked at Lan Xue.
Lan Xue knew Luo Zheng referred to the original squad of five people. Though everyone had beco officers, the original squad's cohesion remained in their hearts. Ghost Hand, Snow Leopard, and Mountain Eagle smiled knowingly, a deep bond of comradeships welled up, fists clenched secretly.
"I disagree, we must take one more team along, Mountain Eagle's squad, all snipers, useful for combat." Hong ihua quickly said, voicing the first opposition of the eting.
Luo Zheng knew Hong ihua was out of concern, but she wasn't very familiar with battlefield affairs. Luo Zheng shook his head and said, "We'll discuss this matter again later. The first two points I ntioned must be completed within three days; action in three days. Regarding the operation plan, I have a question: is there an airline in this area?"
"There is a route." Lan Xing quickly answered.
"Then it's settled. We'll take a civilian flight; parachute to the designated location upon arrival. This way, we can carry more materials and equipnt; drop them from the air then hide well, just in case. Check whether the target area is during the day or night?" Luo Zheng imdiately said.
"At dusk, around five o'clock." Lan Xing quickly provided the answer.
"Coordinate with relevant departnts to pass through the area at night. Sam Country's spy satellites will certainly monitor the region; find the ti when their satellites are off-course and drop to avoid exposure. Moreover, we'll travel as regular passengers, but our identities cannot appear on the roster to avoid investigation. If the flight is unfavorable for parachuting, it must be modified accordingly; let relevant departnts cooperate." Luo Zheng instructed, prioritizing the mission without considering how his plan might delay others' travels.
"Yes." Lan Xing fully agreed.
"After the drop, we'll search for the target location on foot, this process could be long or short. The climate there is harsh, terrain complex, magnetic field disorderly; whether contact can be made is uncertain. Therefore, we must plan for the worst. If contact cannot be made, all actions must be spontaneous, especially retreat. Any thoughts?" Luo Zheng said with a grave face.
Looking at the region's complex terrain, everyone knew Luo Zheng speaks the truth. Such a place could certainly lose satellite contact, aning no intelligence support. Fortunately, everyone was used to fighting without intel, without worry, all pondering. After a while, Ghost Hand suddenly suggested, "To the west is close to other countries, south is the sea, north is also other countries. I propose going south, let the nuclear submarine pick us up ho."
"No, Yin Country's fools may be dim-witted, but they might guess we're going south. West and north an being trapped at the border, east is the route ho, certainly heavily ard. I suggest running straight into their territory, then find the Embassy or Consulate for assistance." Mountain Eagle suggested.
Conflicting opinions, everyone thought they were reasonable, finally looking at Luo Zheng. Luo Zheng thought for a mont and said, "This issue is sowhat premature now; no one can predict what may happen on the battlefield. Don't forget Yin Country is already alert, which is our real concern. Thus, this mission shouldn't have too many people, but material equipnt must be plentiful, prepare for a long-term battle."
"Yes." Everyone heard this rationality, agreed, but none were afraid, their eyes flickered with deep fighting spirit.
