The enemy's strange movents made Luo Zheng extrely vigilant. After observing for a while, he noticed small enemy units beginning to stir, which puzzled him. He couldn't understand the enemy's intentions. Charging with twenty or thirty n was undoubtedly a suicide mission; they couldn't breach our defenses. To attack, they would have to rely on numbers and concentrated firepower, launching a relentless assault. What were they planning by sending small units?

"The enemy is starting probing attacks," Lan Xue noticed the situation as well, saying solemnly.

"Probing?" Luo Zheng was taken aback, then suddenly understood. The enemy was unaware of their ammunition situation and sent people to test them, confirming if they were still in the valley. Seeing the small units dispersing cautiously and advancing slowly, fearing being sniped, confird his judgnt, making him smile.

Luo Zheng didn't take these few people seriously. After watching for a while, he saw their cautious deanor, taking a few steps and stopping to observe. If not for an officer's urging, they wouldn't have dared to advance. Their morale was gone. He secretly breathed a sigh of relief, his gaze falling on the distant wooden boxes, getting an idea. He shouted, "Mountain Eagle, take out the ones sneaking up. Ghost Hand, Snow Leopard, charge up quickly and assist Mountain Eagle in taking out the enemy. Check the wooden boxes to see if there's any ammunition."

"Yes." The nad personnel imdiately responded.

Mountain Eagle quickly found a hiding spot and set up the sniper rifle. With one shot, the small unit imdiately dropped to the ground immobile. Ghost Hand and Snow Leopard charged left and right, rifles raised to their shoulders, continually shooting at visible targets while running, like leopards attacking.

Seeing soone counter-attacking, the small unit panicked and started fleeing. A Lieutenant erged to command but was taken out by Mountain Eagle. The others, seeing this, panicked even more, retreating wildly. Precise shooting and continuous explosions completely shattered their courage.

Ghost Hand and Snow Leopard didn't pursue. They hurried to the wooden boxes to inspect. The boxes had also been impacted by the explosion shockwaves, making them unstable. Fortunately, the bullets were stored in pouches inside. They quickly slung a few remaining ammo pouches over their shoulders and, finding no more ammunition, swiftly retreated.

Returning to the back of the valley, Luo Zheng glanced at the ammo pouches, sighing internally. The recent battle consud two-thirds of their ammo, with only enough bullets left to hold out for a while. Luckily, supplies and equipnt were airdropped, carrying quite a bit; otherwise, they couldn't withstand the previous high-intensity consumption.

"Distribute the ammo evenly and find a place to defend," Luo Zheng forced himself to stay calm and said loudly, raising his binoculars again. Seeing another small squad probing up, he couldn't help but smirk. He turned to Lan Xue and said, "The enemy is trying to stall us, buying ti for reinforcents."

"It takes ti for the main force to arrive. They're probably using this tactic to confirm our presence, trying to trap us in this dead valley," Lan Xue said softly.

"Confirm our presence?" Luo Zheng was startled, then suddenly thought of sothing, his expression changing dramatically, frowning as he pondered while observing the surrounding terrain.

"What's the matter?" Lan Xue asked, surprised at Luo Zheng's reaction.

"Your words reminded . They just need to keep harassing us, preventing any rest, continually forcing us to exhaust ammunition. By morning, if they launch a fierce attack, we'll be unable to fend it off. Fatigue tactics, siege tactics—it seems the enemy has grown smarter, knowing the cost of a direct assault is too high, changing strategies. It seems the enemy has switched commanders," Luo Zheng said gravely.

"It's like their tactical style has changed, not as aggressive as before, but this tactic is very disadvantageous for us," Lan Xue said bitterly.

Just then, Mountain Eagle fired again, taking down an enemy trying to sneak up from afar. Ghost Hand ca over, handing a pouch of ammo to Luo Zheng and another to Lan Xue, saying helplessly, "Boss, Captain, these are the only two packets of sniper bullets left. Ghost Hand and the Snow Leopard Brothers will use the 95-style assault rifle bullets."

"Alright," Luo Zheng accepted the ammo pouch and secured it, glancing at the horizon. The sunset hues had vanished, and night had fallen. The sky beca overcast, and the wind grew colder. The weather looked like it was going to snow. Luo Zheng, with a bitter expression, turned to Ghost Hand and said, "This ti, it was my misjudgnt, a command error that dragged everyone down. Do you bla ?"

"Bla you?" Ghost Hand looked at Luo Zheng in surprise, not understanding why Luo Zheng said this. Seeing his guilty expression, Ghost Hand realized and said nonchalantly with a smile, "How can we bla you? We killed so many enemies; it was worth it. If you can pull off another trick, like leading us to break out overnight, that would be perfect. Even if we die in battle, it would be worth it. Just so you know, I'm not freezing to death in this valley; I can't afford that sha."

"Breakout?" Luo Zheng looked at the small units retreating again, his eyes lighting up as he thought and said, "Tell Snow Leopard and Mountain Eagle to stay alert, eat so rations, and conserve energy. We'll talk after dark."

"Got it," Ghost Hand replied cheerfully and went away, seeing that Luo Zheng had made up his mind.

"Do you really plan to break out overnight?" Lan Xue asked softly.

"Yes, or wait here to die?" Luo Zheng retorted, his eyes glancing at the surrounding peaks, ntally noting a route. He continued softly, "We won't break out from the front, we'll climb over the mountain. The enemy keeps sending small units to harass us, trying to delay us to see if we're still here. With this weather, it will snow soon. By then, they won't be able to attack either, only block the valley to prevent us from escaping. Front assault costs are too high; we'll go over the mountain."

"That might work," Lan Xue glanced at the steep mountains around, her expression changing slightly. She said softly, "If the enemy doesn't frequently probe our presence, we could take the chance to escape. The problem is here the mountain is steep, and the slopes are snow-covered with no support points; it's very hard to climb up. Do you have any ideas?"

"We brought Dragon Tooth Long Swords and special ropes. Insert the swords into the ice layer under the snow for anchorage, tie the rope to the sword handles; this will provide support. Grab the ropes, and it will be much easier to climb. Space the swords every hundred ters. This distance ensures that tensioning the rope keeps it stable, and people can hold on without swinging. Five swords make five hundred ters, enough to climb up. Have Ghost Hand, being nimble, prepare it," Luo Zheng instructed seriously.

"Alright, I'll go with him—a few more hands make things faster. It's getting dark soon, and it's too dangerous to do it after dark, easy to fall," Lan Xue said, looking at the mountain.

"Very well. Take care, choose over there," Luo Zheng pointed to a slope, instructing seriously. He added, "Though steep, it's relatively sheltered from the wind. It's less likely to sway people while climbing. Also, the rocky slopes will provide better anchorage points." Luo Zheng's back injury prevented him from doing high-intensity tasks; otherwise, he wouldn't let Lan Xue go.
