Mrs. Pier had no suspicions, chatting warmly with Hong ihua. Although she was curious as to why Luo Zheng remained silent, she politely didn't ask further. Soon, there was a car horn outside. Mrs. Pier exclaid with delight, "My husband is back." She spoke while rising to greet him at the door.
Luo Zheng and Hong ihua exchanged a glance; Hong ihua nodded with understanding. Both of them waited calmly in the living room. Before long, Pier entered. He was tall and well-built, with a face of simple, honest expressions that matched the file descriptions perfectly. Luo Zheng watched the newcor with covert vigilance.
Mrs. Pier spoke enthusiastically, "This gentleman says he is your colleague, coming to see us. You chat, and I'll go prepare dinner. It's rare for them to visit."
"Colleague?" Pier glanced at Lan Xue in surprise, clearly not recognizing her, and beca quietly wary. His eyes swiftly moved to Luo Zheng who revealed his handgun but quickly hid it again. Pier's face stiffened, instantly realizing sothing was wrong. Despite his displeasure, he squeezed out a smile and said, "Alright, go ahead."
Mrs. Pier agreed and headed towards the kitchen. Pier worriedly glanced at his son focused on watching cartoons, his expression darkened, and he whispered, "Who exactly are you people?"
"We're here to ask you a few things. Once we have answers, we'll leave. You know the rules; we follow them. Otherwise, no one will have it easy. What do you think?" Hong ihua whispered.
"You?" Pier looked at Hong ihua with a livid expression, then at Luo Zheng whose hand was inside his coat. Pier knew a gun was hidden there. If he resisted, he might escape, but his wife and child couldn't. For his family's sake, Pier sighed quietly in resignation and said, "Don't harm my family, follow ."
"You know the rules and so do I," Hong ihua replied quietly. Special Agents aren't assassins; they won't harm innocents unless absolutely necessary. If the target resists, it's different. This is a rule respected by Special Agents globally.
The two followed Pier to the study on the second floor, not fearing any tricks. Pier dared not attempt any deceit. After securing the door, everyone sat down. Pier angrily looked at the two and said, "The fact that you found here shows you know well. Speak, what do you want to know? I must assess the consequences before deciding if I can divulge any information."
"Of course, we're only here for so information. As long as you cooperate, General Robert Pier, what do you think? We won't harm you or your family. Otherwise, we can't guarantee anything," Hong ihua spoke coldly in the international lingua franca, ensuring Luo Zheng wouldn't have the language barrier.
"You?" Pier stood up suddenly, looking at them in shock, full of disbelief. He also switched to the international lingua franca, scanning Luo Zheng and Hong ihua.
"Relax, you admitted it yourself. We found you here, naturally understanding you well. Sit and speak slowly. If I get nervous and pull the trigger, the consequences would be unimaginable. Why make it harder?" Hong ihua coldly cautioned, noticing Pier's wandering gaze and thoughtful expression. She sternly continued, "Best not harbor other ideas. We're surrounded by our people; killing your family would be easy."
"Alright, what do you want to know?" Pier realized his exposure when Hong ihua stated his full na and understood that the visitors weren't ordinary. For his family's safety, he abandoned resistance, sat down in defeat, and spoke reluctantly, eyes full of resentnt and helplessness.
"You're a wise man, that's good. We know your full na and naturally your other identities. Tell us, what movents has the Snow Bear Special Forces been making lately? Think before you speak; you'll only get one chance. I don't like being deceived or toyed with," Hong ihua said coldly.
"You're from Huaxia Country?" Pier caught on, asking with a cold face. Seeing Hong ihua's unimpressed cold smile without admitting or denying, he knew his guess wasn't off. Yet, this didn't matter anymore. He coldly contemplated, internally struggling; speaking the truth ans dire consequences, as the dostic KGB is formidable. Remaining silent implicated his family—what to do?
"Relax. No one knows we ca here. Once we get the intel, we leave imdiately. No one will suspect you leaked anything; it's just so information. No one will look for you again. Of course, if the information is inaccurate, that's another story. Speak, our patience is limited," Hong ihua, experienced and perceptive, saw through Pier's thoughts and coldly reassured him.
"How can I trust you?" Pier asked coldly.
"You don't need to trust us. Killing you and your family serves no purpose for ; it would expose us. Why create unnecessary complications?" Hong ihua said coldly.
Pier thought about this, realizing it made sense. Sighing in resignation, he said, "Alright, I hope you keep your promise."
"Of course, speak, preferably don't deceive ," Hong ihua said coldly.
"The Snow Bear has planned an operation code-nad 'Dragon Slayer' against you, hiring three major organizations: Bloodsucker, Reincarnation, and Wild Wolf, with a total force of fifteen hundred people. We contribute a thousand; the other three contribute five hundred in total. We've successfully ambushed you twice already, just waiting for your third deploynt," Pier stated solemnly.
"As far as I know, these three organizations aren't easily moved, and Reincarnation has a grudge against Snow Bear. What price did you pay?" Hong ihua asked in surprise.
"Reincarnation?" Pier asked surprisedly, looking at Hong ihua. "Reincarnation and Snow Bear have no vendetta, but Bloodsucker does. However, against massive interests, grudges are trivial. Especially rcenaries; they're together for profit. One billion US dollars per group is enough for them to risk their lives, additionally offering territory and weapons for their growth."
Hong ihua deliberately ntioned Reincarnation, but Pier corrected her, giving plausible reasons that seed credible. She asked further, "What about our people?"
"I don't know about that. I only manage files; I don't know frontline matters unless they report, but as the situation is ongoing, they won't report quickly," Pier said hurriedly, eyes filled with concern, fearing Hong ihua and Luo Zheng's wrath.
"Aside from these three organizations, are there others?" Hong ihua asked with a cold face.
"No," Pier confird, noting Hong ihua's doubt and quickly added, "Really, no others. At least, that's what the reported plan says."
Failing to uncover valuable intel, Hong ihua glanced at Luo Zheng, who appeared deep in thought. Seeing her look his way, he raised his brows and asked solemnly, "How do you scout opponent positions, and how do you avoid their surveillance?"
