At dusk, the snowy canyon was a vast expanse of white, devoid of any green. Tall tree branches occasionally released snowballs blown off by the wind, producing a rustling sound, adding a touch of vitality to the deathly silent white canyon. In the distance, a person wearing a white cloak moved cautiously forward. After sprinting a short distance, they stopped by a snow pile to observe, their body nearly blending into the snow, with a steel gun held horizontally at shoulder level, exuding a chilling aura of murder. If they hadn't been exposed by their movent, they would have been impossible to detect.
Perhaps finding nothing unusual, the person raised their arm and pushed forward twice before hugging the gun and continuing to advance. Moving quickly, like a hungry wolf, they rushed to a nearby big tree and squatted down to observe again. Shortly after, another person erged from behind, dressed similarly, moving with equal caution, stopping occasionally to observe the surroundings.
Luo Zheng observed this scene cautiously from his concealnt beside the snow pile, greatly shocked. These two seed to be searching for sothing. Could they be unaware of the observation post on the mountain top? The surrounding view was relatively open, which made it easy to expose oneself after leaving cover. He didn't move, patiently lurking on the snow-covered hillside, his gaze cold as ice, attentively watching the people erging from the canyon.
Then, Luo Zheng noticed more people appearing behind the two, his expression growing increasingly solemn. He squinted slightly, restraining his murderous intent, using his peripheral vision to occasionally glance at the exposed individuals. This casual observation thod minimized the risk of alerting them. After a while, even more people appeared in view, spread out over a significant length.
The person in front was getting closer. It was only then that Luo Zheng could see clearly that the person was not one of their own, but a Western Caucasian, tall and robust-looking. A pair of blue eyes on his high nose emitted a chilling murderous aura, indicating that he was not a simple character.
The people in the back followed along. Luo Zheng counted ten in total, moving cautiously ahead along the canyon, their intentions unclear. Watching the team gradually leave, Luo Zheng pondered whether they might be coming to track him down. Should he kill them or not?
After so thought, a sudden inspiration struck Luo Zheng, finding it worthwhile to eliminate this team and create panic. Being alone, he was a small target, easy to hide anywhere without being found. By getting rid of this team, he could put pressure on the enemy and make them send out more people to search the periter, making it easier for him to infiltrate deeper.
Having decided, Luo Zheng began deliberating his plan. This team was not simple, and silently eliminating them all would be extrely difficult without a plan. His gaze instinctively turned towards the direction the enemy was moving, still within the canyon. Associating this with the way they marched, a bold and crazy plan erged in his mind.
With no one around, Luo Zheng quickly retreated, sprinting in a circuitous route toward the direction the enemy was heading in the canyon. Since the enemy moved cautiously due to concerns about an ambush, Luo Zheng let loose his speed, running wildly through the hillside woods like a hungry wolf chasing prey. Before long, he managed to circle to the front.
Directly heading down into the canyon would leave footprints on the snowy hillside, exposing himself to the enemy. Luo Zheng's cold gaze scanned the surroundings, quickly and carefully cutting two branches as thick as his arms, binding them with vines to create simple stilts. He tested the stilts, finding them workable, and let out a sigh of relief.
Estimating that he was nearing the distance where he could be detected by the enemy, Luo Zheng quickly rushed down the hill. Once he reached the spot where the enemy could notice him, he switched to using the stilts to continue downhill. Descending on stilts was tricky business; he couldn't move fast, or he'd fall. Each step had to be firmly planted. Having grown up in the forest, Luo Zheng found using stilts no issue at all.
The descent led to a snow cave. After pulling up, the surrounding snow collapsed, covering up, making it hard to distinguish without careful observation. The distance covered was over a ter, which was too far for a normal human stride; even if the enemy noticed sothing strange in the snowy hillside, they wouldn't think it was caused by humans. Luo Zheng cautiously descended into the canyon.
The canyon was full of shrubs and trees, not very spacious, giving a clear view of everything without anywhere to hide. Luo Zheng calmly surveyed the surrounding terrain, considering the possible routes the enemy might take. Soon, he chose a spot among the bushes and stepped forward on his stilts.
Arriving at the site, Luo Zheng hid the stilts in the snow, covering up the tracks sowhat, then pulled out his Tiger Teeth combat knife, quickly cutting away the weeds inside the bushes to create a hidden spot to crawl into. Snow on top of the bushes hadn't moved much, making it impossible to see that soone was hiding inside from outside.
Luo Zheng, hidden among the bushes, quickly adjusted his breathing, patiently waiting. After about ten minutes, he saw an enemy cautiously approaching, gripping his gun tightly. He chambered a bullet, ready for action, his tiger-like eyes focused, suppressing the murderous intent inside to avoid alerting the enemy.
After a while, an enemy ca forward, cautiously observing all around, soon discovering the unusual pit in the snow on the hillside. Although it wasn't large, rather subtle, it slightly differed from the surrounding flat snowy hillside. This person scrutinized the scene carefully, noting that these small pits were irregular, spaced far apart, not resembling human footprints, but more like tracks left by so large animal that hadn't been fully covered by snow.
For safety, this person still approached to check closely but found nothing suspicious, finally moving forward with reassurance. The others who followed also noticed the unusual snow, but seeing no danger from the scout ahead, they felt less worry, checked briefly, and moved on.
Calm and hiding in the bush, Luo Zheng held his breath as the third enemy passed by only two ters away. When this one moved away, Luo Zheng finally let out a long breath and started breathing deeply. Soon, the tenth enemy approached. Luo Zheng settled his breath for a while before taking a deep breath, observing the soldier cautiously.
This enemy moved relatively fast, heading right towards where Luo Zheng was concealed, scanning left and right, looking solemn, curiously studying the bush Luo Zheng hid in a few tis. The bushes were dense and broad, over a ter high, covered with snowflakes, showing no outward signs of hiding anyone.
The enemy increasingly neared, startling Luo Zheng. He continued holding his breath, cautioning himself to stay calm, not to act rashly. As the enemy approached, Luo Zheng quickly grasped his mouth, his gaze narrowing into a dangerous, needle-like pricking stare, worried about leaking killing intent and alarming the foe. He hastily shifted his gaze away, avoiding direct eye contact.
Soon, the enemy reached the bush beside Luo Zheng's hiding spot and stopped, knocking so snow off the bushes with the butt of his gun. Snow cascaded down, much of it falling onto Luo Zheng's head. Luo Zheng stayed motionless but gripped his gun tightly, his finger resting on the trigger.
