At the foot of the hillside, nearly a hundred ard mbers were charging towards the summit at high speed, their formation scattered and hard to define. Luo Zheng was shocked to discover that his retreat was blocked. Combined with enemies swarming from two other directions, he was surrounded. A bitter feeling filled his heart, and a fierce determination surged within him. Since there was no way to retreat, he had only one option left—fight to the death.

At this mont, Luo Zheng was like a wounded lone wolf, gasping for air, his chest heaving from lack of oxygen. His cold eyes radiated a bloody murderous intent as he indifferently watched the approaching enemies. Enemies from three directions seed to have reached so tacit agreent, spreading out across the mid-slope and quickly forming a circular encirclent with no way out. They were determined not to cease until their objective was achieved.

The nearest enemy was less than two hundred ters away, with others still at the base of the mountain. Luo Zheng took a deep breath, forced himself to calm down, and then aid his cold barrel at the nearest enemy. He decisively struck, downing three n. The enemy quickly took cover and did not rush to attack.

Luo Zheng was well aware that he couldn't cover all directions. As soon as his gun fired, the hiding enemy would wait, while enemies from other directions would take the chance to rush towards the summit. The enemy could afford to wait; he could not. Fortunately, from his elevated position, his field of view was broad. He soon spotted an enemy whose leg was exposed. Luo Zheng aid without hesitation and fired.

A scream rang out as the enemy tumbled out from cover. Luo Zheng seized the opportunity to fire another shot, killing the enemy. Afterward, the enemy hid again, making it hard to find another target. Luo Zheng rushed to another side where he saw the enemy frantically charging upwards. A fierce grimace appeared on Luo Zheng's face as he pulled out two grenades, pulled the pins, and threw them with all his might.

After launching the grenades, Luo Zheng didn't bother to look at the outco. The explosion would definitely force the enemy to take cover, and there would be no further opportunities, so it was pointless to waste ti watching. Instead, he rushed to another side and threw two more grenades at the enemies desperately climbing upwards.

In the midst of this, Luo Zheng noticed that the terrain in this direction was a lot steeper, with fewer enemies climbing up—around thirty people. A plan ford in his mind. He took cover behind a rock, where he placed the last five grenades he had and picked up his sniper rifle.

"Whizz!" Luo Zheng fired and blew up the leading enemy.

Once again, all enemies took cover, not daring to show themselves. Luo Zheng slung the sniper rifle over his back, checked the AK47 with a full magazine, then picked up a grenade. He pulled the pin and threw it towards the enemy's hiding places. The powerful explosion upended the hiding enemies, their screams echoing across the mid-slope, making one's heart tremble.

Then, like a cheetah, Luo Zheng dashed down the hill. After running about ten ters, he threw a grenade at a spot where the enemy was taking cover ahead of him.

The explosion thoroughly intimidated the enemies, who all hid behind cover, not daring to peek out. No one noticed that Luo Zheng had already sprinted down the slope. As he ran, he threw three more grenades, blasting an opening. He gripped his AK47 and charged forward like a tiger descending a mountain, his firearm roaring in his hands.

The enemies had not expected Luo Zheng to choose a frontal counter-charge; they were all stunned. By the ti they reacted, Luo Zheng had already charged forward, leaving the enemies in front with nowhere to hide. He targeted each one accurately; his bullets t flesh, but by the ti the enemies on the sides ca to their senses, it was too late. Luo Zheng broke through the blockade, not looking back as he sprinted, practically leaping downwards, his speed so fast they could not aim properly.

Angered and humiliated, the enemies started firing at the direction in which Luo Zheng was running. The dense hail of bullets created a barrage, and just as Luo Zheng leapt down from a high platform, while in mid-air, he suddenly felt the looming threat of death, his hair standing on end. His body twisted strangely to reduce the downward force, and he tumbled down, but it was still a bit too late. A bullet whizzed past his shoulder, leaving a cut as sharp as a knife's.

A fiery, acute pain swept over his head; Luo Zheng knew he was injured and was furious. Hearing the continuous gunfire behind him, he dared not look back. Upon landing, he couldn't stabilize himself, but kept rolling and scrambling downward. An erging, elevated platform before him led to a ninety-degree slope. Without a second thought, Luo Zheng let himself roll down.

In mid-air, the wind whooshing past his ears, Luo Zheng, realizing he hadn't hit the ground yet, knew he was in trouble. His body twisted strangely once more, and finding himself vertically suspended in mid-air, head down and legs above, he entered free fall. His eyes were locked downward as he calculated the distance. The mont before hitting the ground, his knees buckled and his body arched.

After his feet touched the ground, Luo Zheng dared not borrow any montum, nor forcefully stabilize himself. Instead, he quickly leaned his body to one side, rolled, and continued to fall, cushioning the earlier impact. During the roll, his body collided with the stones on the ground, sending waves of pain through him, especially at the wound, which was excruciatingly painful.

After tumbling down a steep slope, a gentler slope lay ahead. Luo Zheng gritted his teeth, enduring the severe pain, his forehead slick with cold sweat. As the speed of his tumbling slowed, he quickly stabilized his form and got up, continuing to sprint forward without looking back. It was crucial to escape the encirclent, as even a minute's delay could be life-threatening.

There were many small hills ahead, none too high; Luo Zheng sprinted over them. After a while, he felt a steep decline in his physical strength and had to slow down. He gasped heavily, calming his overworked heart and lungs. His icy gaze swept around, vigilantly sensing his surroundings.

Suddenly, a gorge appeared ahead, about twenty ters wide with a river flowing along it between lush forests twisting eastward, its end not visible. Arriving at the edge of the gorge, Luo Zheng looked down and saw the steep cliffs, over a hundred ters high, and instantly dismissed the thought of descending. He looked around: the landscape was open, no place to hide. The night was deepening, and enemy reinforcents would soon arrive. What to do?

Just then, distant and dense gunfire faintly reached him. Luo Zheng abruptly rembered his brethren still engaged in battle with the ambushers. The prolonged lack of outco indicated that the situation was not optimistic. Gritting his teeth, he turned and sprinted eastward along the gorge, like a completely enraged cheetah, emitting endless fighting spirit.

While running, he suddenly felt a twinge in his brow, as if pricked by a needle, a shock ran through him. Luo Zheng halted abruptly, his body strangely throwing itself to the side just as the fearful roar of a sniper bullet tore through the air beside him, the realization he was targeted by a sniper making his hair stand on end, his heart squeezing as if grasped by a hand.

A wave of deadly aura enveloped him; Luo Zheng was inwardly horrified. He hadn't sensed the sniper while clashing with the East Yi Yun mbers earlier. The realization that a sniper was lying in wait here was terrifying. With the terrain around him open, there was nowhere to hide. Luo Zheng felt as if he could sense the scent of death, an overpowering despair overtaking him.
