In the gray night sky, the parachutes descended lower and lower, closer and closer, silently and eerily, like angels suddenly falling from the sky. Luo Zheng could see clearly, there were people on the parachutes, as well as supplies. He breathed a sigh of relief. The absence of an enemy ambush at this ti indicated there were indeed no enemies around. Luo Zheng got up and quickly walked over to greet them.
Quickly, the parachutes landed one after another, and everyone quickly packed up their chutes. Luo Zheng noticed that Fu Di was the closest to him and was montarily stunned. Then he snapped back to reality and greeted him joyfully. Fu Di, noticing Luo Zheng, had not yet had ti to fully pack up his parachute, promptly saluted, looking at Luo Zheng with admiration, saying, "Hello, Leader."
"Don't salute on the battlefield, it attracts enemy fire. It's a rule. Are you getting used to it?" Luo Zheng said with a smile.
"I'm doing okay." Fu Di imdiately put down his hand and smiled awkwardly.
"Are you alright?" A pleasant voice shouted joyfully. A figure ran over, it was Lan Xue. Despite the many people around, she hugged Luo Zheng tightly, very tightly, as if afraid of losing him. Everyone knew their relationship, so no one dared to intervene. They quickly packed their belongings.
"Don't worry, I'm fine. Are you okay?" Luo Zheng's heart ward as he hugged Lan Xue.
"As long as you're okay, I'm fine." Lan Xue felt Luo Zheng's care and was reassured. She gently pushed away from him, looked around, and returned to the calmness and vigilance of a soldier, asking, "Is everything okay here?"
"Not necessarily, we all need to leave quickly." Luo Zheng replied.
"Brothers, quickly pack your things and prepare to evacuate." A voice ordered sternly, it was Wu Jin. Luo Zheng turned to see Wu Jin approaching, looking excited, saying, "Sorry to interrupt your mont, what's next?"
"There's a crevice over there. Let's hide there and wait for the right mont." Luo Zheng pointed to the side.
Wu Jin glanced in the direction of the crevice, comprehended, and nodded, "Carry on." He then ran off, shouting to everyone, "Follow , camo the ground so the Russians don't spot us right away."
"Yes." Everyone murmured in response, using parachutes as brooms to cover their traces. As soon as the parachutes swept over the ground, it looked level. Everyone moved to the edge of the crevice. Wu Jin shone a flashlight to check below, then surveyed the surroundings, saying, "Tie the ropes together; it looks deep. A single rope won't suffice. Lower the gear first, then people climb down quickly."
"Yes." Everyone whispered their responses, springing into action.
Luo Zheng, seeing Wu Jin's effective command, felt relieved. He looked around at everyone, seeing Ghost Hand, Snow Leopard, and Mountain Eagle approaching, and quickly greeted them. The brothers exchanged smiles, nodded tacitly, and embraced. Their unspoken understanding, forged in life-and-death situations, reassured them all. They knew each other's minds without words, a camaraderie that had repeatedly helped them triumph over enemies and survive the battlefields.
"I feel reassured with you guys here," Luo Zheng sincerely said.
"Nonsense, how could we rest easy if we didn't co?" Ghost Hand said earnestly.
"You're always pulling stunts, playing the hero alone. How can we not worry?" Snow Leopard said in a deep voice.
"We don't want our captain secretly shedding tears all the ti." Mountain Eagle also complained.
Luo Zheng, feeling the brotherly bond, laughed. The tension of recent days dissipated, and he felt invigorated, saying, "With brothers, there's no fear. Let's join forces again and wreak havoc, avenge our brothers from the First and Third Squadrons."
"Right, well said." Wu Jin quickly ca over, approving loudly.
"Captain." Luo Zheng greeted warmly.
"Hold on, although I am your captain, I must announce an order from above, Ghost," Wu Jin shouted.
"Present!" Luo Zheng snapped to attention, responding seriously.
"After a thorough decision from above, you've been appointed as the overall person in charge of this operation. Everyone at the front line and rear, including , will follow your lead." Wu Jin said seriously in a low voice.
"What?" Luo Zheng looked at Wu Jin in surprise.
"What? Not willing? No guts?" Wu Jin huffed, dissatisfied.
"Yes!" Luo Zheng imdiately saluted and accepted.
"Give the orders then." Wu Jin urged, satisfied.
"Mountain Eagle, your team will cover the rear. Camouflage the vicinity well. We will stealthily lie in wait for Shadow to arrive. Everyone else, head down imdiately. Note, Snow Fox is below. After descending, walk about five minutes to the left to find a cave where Snow Fox is. Don't get confused." Luo Zheng quickly said.
"Yes." Everyone whispered their acknowledgnt and swiftly took action.
Before long, everyone began climbing down with agility like monkeys. A warrior brought over a backpack and a sniper rifle. With both hands occupied, he couldn't salute but nonetheless snapped his feet together, stood straight, and solemnly said, "Commander, here's your gear."
"Wei Jun? You passed the selection; congratulations, welco aboard." Luo Zheng noticed it was Wei Jun and warmly responded.
"Thank you, Commander." Wei Jun replied gratefully.
"Don't call Commander. We in the Fourth Squadron don't stand on ceremony. Just call Ghost." Luo Zheng smiled, taking his gear and weapons, and continued, "Thanks for the effort. Off you go."
"Yes." Wei Jun saluted gratefully and turned to leave.
Before long, Ghost Hand and Snow Leopard led people down the crevice. Mountain Eagle stayed to cover traces around, ensuring they weren't spotted, then each found a spot to hide, waiting for Shadow's arrival. Luo Zheng and Lan Xue hid together. After turning off his earpiece, Lan Xue, suspicious, looked around and asked, "Is Shadow's mory loss serious? Will it affect the future?"
"I don't think so. His survival and combat instincts are sharper than ever, making him a king in this snowy forest, just losing so past mories. But I feel he's gradually recalling so things. With proper care later, it should be fine." Luo Zheng said earnestly.
"That's good, otherwise Ye Laixiang would suffer." Lan Xue breathed a sigh of relief.
"No, he rembers that part very well." Luo Zheng laughed, then suddenly his eyes sharpened, and he lowered his voice, "They're here, be cautious. Sothing's off."
"I see them too. It seems soone's behind them. Could it be the enemy? Prepare for battle." Lan Xue also noticed the figures running through the night, her expression tightening. She quickly said, turning her earpiece back on and whispering, "Stay hidden, wait for my signal to engage."
