The bright moonlight illuminated the vast snowfield, reflecting white light off the snow-covered ground. The sky was a murky gray, with visibility of about ten ters. There was no wind, and the forest was eerily silent, not even a night bird chirped. Luo Zheng lay in ambush on a hillside, hearing his own heartbeat, as he looked up toward the valley ahead. That was the Snow Bear Base Camp, brightly lit, as if it was dayti, with searchlights sweeping incessantly and patrols constantly patrolling the area.
After two infiltrations, the people at the Snow Bear Base Camp had beco even more vigilant. Luo Zheng wasn't sure if he could penetrate it again, but he had to try. He glanced at Shadow, who was making preparations. Mountain Eagle was patting snow onto Shadow, which made Luo Zheng bewildered. What kind of tactic was this?
Not long after, Shadow had ford a layer of snow on himself and began rolling on the ground, gradually turning into a giant snowball. Standing upright beca an issue, prompting a curious question: "Brothers, what are you doing?"
"The enemy has strengthened defenses; it's hard to crawl down now, you'll see soon." Shadow said casually, squirming inside the snowball. After a while, he said, "Co, help dig four holes, I need to extend my hands and feet."
Luo Zheng went up to help, estimating the positions, and carefully carved out four holes with his military knife. Shadow extended his hands and feet from within the snowball, lying on the ground, saying, "Alright, I'll go first." Then he started crawling down the slope using both hands and feet, the entire snowball sliding forward like a giant snow-covered rock.
"Is this even possible?" Luo Zheng watched in surprise as Shadow slowly crawled downwards. It quickly beca apparent to him; the mountainside was filled with large boulders resembling ancient fierce beasts in the dim light, and Shadow's snowball appearance was similar to the surrounding rocks. The only difference was its slow movent. No wonder Shadow chose this thod to infiltrate. Luo Zheng understood the reasoning and admired Shadow's tactical skills, muttering a silent praise.
About ten minutes later, Shadow reached the midway point of the hill, an area heavily scrutinized by searchlights. Soon enough, a searchlight swept over. Luo Zheng, tense, observed and found that Shadow had suddenly stopped moving. The searchlight only revealed a snowball, not the person hidden inside. His hands and feet were tucked underneath the snowball, with his head positioned at the rear, completely unseen by the searchlight.
The searchlight gradually moved off Shadow, who resud crawling downwards at a slow pace to avoid raising suspicion. This display of courage and skill left the Mountain Eagle Team mbers astounded and deeply impressed. Achieving this requires not only a calm mind but also superb skills, beyond the reach of ordinary people.
Seeing the searchlight pass over Shadow without detection, Luo Zheng breathed a sigh of relief. He glanced at his watch, estimating that Ghost Hand and Snow Leopard were busy setting up Button Bombs on their end. With Wu Jin overseeing and knowing Ghost Hand and Snow Leopard well, Luo Zheng wasn't worried about the bomb setup. He turned quietly to Lan Xue, who had followed him, asking with concern, "Your body hasn't fully recovered, can you manage?"
"I'll do fine. Another few days, and I'll continue my recuperation." Lan Xue felt warmth in her heart, answering softly.
"Yeah, let's end the battle quickly. If our captured brothers don't receive treatnt soon, it'll be troubleso." Luo Zheng whispered, looking through the gray night sky towards the base camp in the valley, where their captured brothers were. Unfortunately, he couldn't see clearly, so he raised his sniper scope for a careful observation. Seeing they were still there, he sighed in relief. Despite being badly injured, at least they were alive, which was a small consolation amidst the misfortune.
After a while, Shadow reached a low spot below the mountainside, stopping in the depression. Luo Zheng curiously moved his sniper scope to observe. He saw Shadow slowly climbing out of the snowball. He was preparing to abandon the huge shell, making Luo Zheng smile, "He's out."
"Yeah, in terms of combat skills and speed, none of us can match him. Don't worry." Lan Xue replied.
"Indeed, this guy is truly formidable. His ability to predict danger is also very sharp." Luo Zheng spoke casually, continuing to watch Shadow climb ahead. He wore a white cape, covered in snowflakes, concealing a person entirely. As long as he didn't move, you wouldn't detect a person beneath unless you got extrely close.
Through the sniper scope, Luo Zheng noticed Shadow paused several ters ahead as a patrol team approached, accompanied by guard dogs, alert and scanning the surroundings. Shocked, Luo Zheng knew that while people might not spot Shadow, the dogs certainly would. His expression tightened, and through the earpiece, he quickly said, "Units, be prepared for combat."
In the earpiece, the sound of people loading bullets echoed, adding a chilling aura to the frosty night. Luo Zheng coldly watched below, locking onto an enemy, readying for a snipe, only to discover the team was nearly at Shadow's location. Stunned, his finger slowly pulled the trigger, thinking that if Shadow were found, he'd have to forsake the mission to save him.
In the sniper scope, Luo Zheng saw Shadow lying motionless, unbelievably undetected by the patrol. Oddly, the guard dog unwillingly followed the patrol, seemingly scared of sothing. The patrol grew alert, cautiously observing the surroundings, weapons raised as they crept forward.
The patrol soon passed a re ter away from Shadow's position, and the guard dog's frantic pacing without a single bark surprised Luo Zheng greatly. Yet, a sense of relief washed over him, his finger moving off the trigger, as he spoke softly through the earpiece, "All clear, standby."
"Yes," ca the hushed response from the Shadow Team mbers in the earpiece.
The communication device had both satellite and Bluetooth connectivity. When satellite connection was unavailable, they switched to Bluetooth. This special forces Bluetooth could connect within a two-kiloter range, using a unique signal source that required specific codes to link, eliminating concerns about interception.
Watching Shadow continue forward to the wire fencing under the walls, Luo Zheng was impressed, "This guy is indeed extraordinary, even the dogs fear him."
"Probably because of his long association with wolves, carrying a wolf scent. Didn't you ntion he was in Wolf Valley?" Lan Xue analyzed quietly.
"Yeah, he ntioned it himself. He spends most of his ti in Wolf Valley, only occasionally hiding in cracks to evade capture. You're probably right. Not only does he live among wolves, but he's also eaten quite a few Wild Wolves, maybe carrying a wolf-like odor, frightening the dogs and keeping them from barking." Luo Zheng admired as he spoke.
"He's in, prepare for combat." Lan Xue coolly reminded, a glint of killing intent in her eyes.
