"It's a miracle I'm still alive. Thankfully, I listened to you and wore the tactical bullet-proof vest, otherwise, I would have been a goner. That guy really went after an old thing like , truly unpredictable. A pity for the warrior who took the bullet for . Anyway, never mind that now. What's the situation? Speak up, don't hide anything, I can handle it." Nuoqi said with difficulty, his eyes coldly fixed on Cas, like a wounded wolf plotting revenge.

"One ard helicopter was shot down, but fortunately, another one took off in ti, discovering the enemy's hiding place beneath a ground fissure where we've never been before, unaware of the situation below. The enemy should still be down there. I suggest we imdiately encircle the area with troops to prevent their escape." Cas quickly responded.

"I didn't expect it, indeed a tough opponent. He laid snares for an ambush halfway through. I thought he was an upright man, but it turns out he also has a cunning side. Such opponents are hard to figure out, difficult to deal with. But this is good; the latter half of life won't be so boring." Nuoqi frowned as he muttered to himself.

"General?" Cas prompted.

"No rush." Nuoqi took a breath, stabilized his emotions, and continued, "A shot ruined all my deploynts behind. It's fate. However, their luck is about to run out too. Imdiately have the ard helicopter take off, bomb the fissure, and arrange for the troops to attack downward to annihilate the enemy."

"Yes." Cas replied joyfully, eagerly saying, "Can I lead the team personally?"

"Sure, go ahead. In case of unexpected incidents on the battlefield, you can make decisions on your own without reporting. I need to take a nap. Who knows how long I'll sleep, don't miss the opportunity. If anything happens in the future, I'll have your back. Go wash away the sha and prove yourself; you have only this one chance." Nuoqi said, closing his eyes slightly.

"Thank you, General." Cas replied joyfully, saluting respectfully, and turned to leave.

Shortly, Cas assembled a thousand troops and a squadron of Snow Bear warriors. The ard helicopter once again took off toward the fissure, while Cas led the troop in quick march on the ground. Soon, they received a report from the helicopter that two missiles had been launched, but the fissure showed no retaliation, asking whether to continue.

Upon hearing this, Cas beca suspicious. Learning that black smoke was still coming from the fissure, he ordered the helicopter to continue bombing the smoking area until all missiles were expended and the aircraft returned. He considered collapsing the fissure beneficial but uncertain if the smoking area was the enemy's hideout, and strictly ordered the troops to accelerate their march.

The ordinary troops' marching speed was relatively slow, so Cas had to proceed with the Snow Bear Squadron first. Three hours later, Cas and his n reached the site, observing the long-bombed fissure imdiately commanded the troops to disperse and monitor, then ordered the helicopter to refuel and return for support.

As soon as the helicopter arrived, Cas signaled the troops to tie ropes around surrounding trees and began to infiltrate below but saw no retaliation. Realizing sothing was wrong, he quickly instructed them to speed up. Upon reaching the bottom of the fissure, they found no one, but discovered a dozen frozen rcenary corpses. They promptly reported this situation to Cas on the ground.

Upon receiving the report, Cas's face changed dramatically. He ordered those below to search, soon finding the entrance blocked by stones. Learning of this, Cas was furious, glanced coldly around, aware the enemy had escaped; the cave must have an exit, but surrounding is vast snowfield, and the exit could be anywhere. It's night now, searching everywhere would be too late, the best way is to open the cave and track the exit. He shouted, "How long to move the stones?"

"Hard to say, looks very deep, needs at least an hour." soone quickly reported.

"Damn it, move the stones imdiately!" Cas heard and was enraged, shouting loudly, switched the walkie-talkie frequency, prepared to talk to General Nuoqi, but thought better of it realizing he might still be asleep, should not disturb, sighed helplessly, saw reinforcents arriving, imdiately told the leading officer, "Deploy a company's n to assist, others spread out searching for the cave exit, found a cave inside but blocked by stones."

"Understood." The leading officer promised, imdiately deploying a company's troops below to assist, others spread out as groups, in designated areas to search, with each group including two Snow Bear team mbers.

After the troops dispersed, Cas noticed dawn had broken, the first ray of sunlight slowly rose, dispelling the vast night's darkness, the land gradually brightened, yet Cas felt increasingly heavy-hearted. He had contacted headquarters several tis; satellites found nothing suspicious, no suspicious exit within a ten-kiloter radius.

Cas realized he missed the best mont. The opponent likely escaped during the night, the rising black smoke rely a distraction, a deceptive trick. Face tense and silent, those around recognized Cas's bad mood, dared not provoke him, silently continued searching.

About an hour later, the cave was opened, Cas descended the fissure, charged into the cave, saw traces of past habitation, realized this was the opponents' hideout, but the people had left. With flashlight, discovered the cave was deep, gritting his teeth, instructed the troops to search inside.

Half an hour later, Cas found the exit, looking at the canyon and dense forest outside, the ground blanketed in snow, unable to find traces of anyone's passage. The canyon runs east to west, Cas was sure the opponents escaped from here, but to the east or west? Pursuing the wrong direction ans wasting ti.

"What should we do?" A commanding officer asked quietly, frowning with an angry expression.

"Going east leads into our country's heartland, dostic reinforcents can arrive quickly, unfavorable to the enemy, but beneficial too. If they infiltrate quietly inside, it ans they can find a place to hide and return by other channels within just three days. If they disperse, two per group, in the vast forest like hunters, harder to identify, with a 60% chance of escaping." Cas muttered as if to himself.

"What about west?" The previous commanding officer pondered aloud.

"Going west takes at least ten days. We only need three days to trace them, leaving seven days for pursuit. Just by mobilizing more helicopters to assist, they can't escape, with only a 20% success rate of escape." Cas analyzed seriously.

"Each has its pros and cons. Which way will they go?" The officer asked, puzzled.
