After entering the tent, Luo Zheng glanced at the already lifeless corpse, quickly surveyed the inside of the tent, and found nothing special besides daily necessities and weapons. Luo Zheng picked up the military canteen next to him, shook it, found it still had water, opened it and sniffed, then used a small silver knife to test it. The water was warm, without any problems. Luo Zheng was overjoyed and drank it down in big gulps. Having not eaten anything warm for days, his stomach felt like ice and was very uncomfortable.

After the warm water settled in his stomach, Luo Zheng felt significantly better. He noticed bread nearby and tested it with the small silver knife. Finding no issues, he picked it up and devoured it. All the rations had been exhausted the day before, and traveling through the night had consud a lot of energy, leaving his body depleted. If he didn't replenish soon, it would be difficult to endure.

A few minutes later, Luo Zheng swallowed down two pieces of bread and drank all the hot water. He felt much more comfortable and a bit stronger. Rembering that Lan Xue was still outside enduring the cold and hunger, Luo Zheng dared not linger too long. He quickly exited the tent, glanced at a nearby tent where people were chatting, withdrew his military knife, loaded his gun, and dashed over.

The tent was large and filled with chatter. Luo Zheng arrived at the entrance, lifted the curtain, and saw a dozen people—so playing cards, so cleaning their guns, others sleeping. Murderous intent erupted in Luo Zheng's eyes, and he rushed towards those cleaning their guns like a Death God.

The principle of ambush is to first eliminate the most threatening targets, which were undoubtedly the ones cleaning their guns. The people inside the tent never expected that anyone would ambush them in this icy land. Weren't enemies supposed to be fleeing like beaten dogs? Off guard, they were caught by surprise by Luo Zheng, who fired bullet after bullet without pause, like a rapidly firing machine gun, quickly taking down those cleaning their guns.

At that mont, the others inside realized what was happening. Soone opened their mouth to sound the alarm, but Luo Zheng noticed swiftly and sent a bullet directly through the person's mouth and out the back of their head, tearing off a large chunk of skull. There was no chance of survival. After securing his hit, Luo Zheng continued to lock on to targets, quickly and calmly shooting.

With Luo Zheng's shooting speed and gun skills, at such close range, almost no one could escape. Everyone frantically tried to grab their guns, but t lethal bullets instead. Each shot hit its mark, every bullet lethal. Luo Zheng quickly eliminated the dozen people, not a single one spared.

Still, so madly got up and ran, knocking over the tent, catching the attention of nearby patrols. Luo Zheng did not panic. He surveyed the battlefield to confirm everyone was down, then quickly rushed outside. He saw the patrol running over, pretended to point at the tent in a panic, feigning a look of fear and helplessness.

The patrol, clueless about what was happening, cautiously rushed forward, pulling their bolt-action rifles. Those tending the fire also curiously ran over, shouting sothing at Luo Zheng, which he didn't understand. Sensing exposure, he quickly changed his magazine and saw that the fire tenders were reaching for guns. Knowing he was indeed exposed, he quickly fired.

"Pew pew pew!" The two sides were barely ten ters apart, no pressure for Luo Zheng. His silenced pistol continuously spewed bullets, knocking enemies to the ground, each shot a headshot. These people didn't get a chance to grab their guns before being taken down by Luo Zheng.

The patrol headed to check the tent, unaware of the events behind them. By the ti they reacted, it was too late. Luo Zheng attacked from behind, bullets aid at the patrol's heads, taking down three in a mont. The others realized what was happening and turned their guns to retaliate, but before they could fire, three more fell by Luo Zheng's hand.

The remaining four were fierce, pulling the trigger instantly, only to find that Luo Zheng had mysteriously disappeared. Shocked, they inspected closer as Luo Zheng, hiding beside a tent, surveyed the scene. His face was cold, murderous. As two more erged from the tent, he swiftly fired. Then he quickly maneuvered forward, catching sight of the remaining four aiming at his hiding spot.

"Pew pew pew!" Both of Luo Zheng's guns fired, and each spat out two bullets. In nearly the blink of an eye, they hit their marks in each target's forehead, each shot lethal. Luo Zheng didn't bother to check the results—he was confident at this range—and rapidly charged forward.

Just then, Luo Zheng noticed two people erging from another tent opposite him. They were bleary-eyed, clearly just awakening, and looked around in surprise, unable to comprehend what was happening. Luo Zheng leaped forward like a tiger, ran at full speed while shooting, his bullets carrying his intense killing intent into the targets' foreheads, bringing them down.

After taking down these two enemies, Luo Zheng silently let out a breath, stealthily taking cover beside a tent to survey. Finding no suspicious targets, he beca puzzled. Could it be that he had taken them all down? Rembering his actions since he began, Luo Zheng realized that first he eliminated three people, then the officer, followed by over a dozen in the big tent, as well as those tending the fire and the patrol. In total, nearly forty people.

Realizing this, Luo Zheng silently let out a sigh of relief, but he remained vigilant, checking each tent. Only after confirming that everyone was dead did he completely relax. He moved to an open area and signaled to Lan Xue's hiding spot, indicating she could co down. He then approached the campfire and saw they were cooking wild goat at, a perfect source of nourishnt. He scooped so up for inspection; the at was thoroughly cooked. He tested it with the small silver knife, and it was fine.

Luo Zheng looked up at Lan Xue's position and saw her starting to descend the mountain, so he grabbed nearby bowls and chopsticks, scooping two large bowls, one set aside to cool, and began devouring the other. The bread from earlier wasn't enough, and despite the at being scalding hot, it tasted good. Luo Zheng's appetite grew, and as the hot food filled his stomach, he felt much better.

He quickly finished one large bowl, then refilled it. There was plenty, more than enough for them, so he ate without hesitation. Just then, Lan Xue jogged up, saw Luo Zheng's ravenous eating, and laughed, saying, "Look at you in such a rush, slow down."

"This bowl is for you; eat it while it's hot. Goat at is warm and beneficial for your body. Hurry and eat; there's enough for two als," Luo Zheng said, handing the previous bowl to Lan Xue.

Lan Xue didn't hesitate. Having not eaten hot food for days, her body was already suffering. She too began devouring her al. After a few mouthfuls of hot soup, the ice-block-like sensation in her stomach lted away instantly, and she felt much more comfortable. Her appetite grew, and she eagerly ate, no different from Luo Zheng's wolf-like devouring.

Watching Lan Xue eat, Luo Zheng felt a stab of pain in his heart. Letting his beloved suffer was a dereliction of duty. He turned his head in guilt, eyes misty, and silently vowed that no matter how difficult the road ahead, he would lead Lan Xue out safely, staking everything as a man, whatever it takes!
