"There's a passage in the middle; your people will definitely co through it and need soone familiar with its direction to wait here, to help guide your people through the trap area. Also, arrange a few people to light torches to assist us in setting up traps," Luo Zheng knew what Bar was worried about and quickly said seriously to avoid any misunderstanding from Bar that might lead to uncooperative actions.
"Makes sense, I'll arrange it right away," Bar agreed, feeling relieved.
Luo Zheng, Ghost Hand, and Madela didn't dare waste much ti. Under the illumination of the torches, they carefully studied the surrounding terrain: where were the slopes? Where were the depressions? Where were the bushes? Etc. Then, based on the terrain, they deduced the possible routes the enemy might take and prepared to use hand grenades as trip grenades.
Ten minutes later, they could hear gunshots getting closer from a distance, estimating that the enemy was catching up. Seeing that the traps had been mostly set, Luo Zheng imdiately signaled for Bar's people to ambush from the mountain. Knowing the seriousness of the situation, Bar didn't dare delay; with a command, the torch-bearers quickly moved up the mountain, leaving only one person at the passage to wait for the blocking troops.
Soon after, Luo Zheng climbed the slope and hid behind a large tree, gazing coldly at the front of the gorge where the torchlight flickered, gunfire was dense, and there were strange howling sounds. He couldn't help but focus intensely, making him beco dangerously sharp, raising the rifle in his hand.
The sniper rifle no longer had matching bullets and was slung on Luo Zheng's back, but the sniper scope was removed and used as binoculars. Ghost Hand, with a frosty look, whispered in Huaxia language, "It sounds like there are a lot of enemies; this battle might be tough. If the enemy sends a squad ahead to clear the path, they could uncover our traps. If they outflank us from both sides, we'd be in trouble. If only we had our Button Bombs, we could remotely detonate them without worrying about being discovered by the enemy."
"Difficult or not, we have to fight, and we must fight hard. It's best to scare and hurt the enemy, forcing them to retreat, so we'll be temporarily safe. After dawn, when Bar's other people arrive, things will be easier. If the enemy keeps pursuing relentlessly, we'll be slowly wiped out. So, this battle must happen," Luo Zheng said with determined eyes.
"Makes sense, but the key is that Bar's people's stamina can't keep up, and they can't outrun the enemy. Staying to use the terrain for an ambush is the best choice," Ghost Hand agreed.
"They're coming, prepare for battle, and be careful," Luo Zheng softly instructed, sharply observing the front as a group of people appeared about three to four hundred ters away, rushing forward in a panicked manner. It was Bar's blocking team, and behind them, countless torches flickered, indicating many pursuers. He frowned and coldly said to Bar nearby, "Tell everyone not to shoot randomly, wait for my command." The endless killing aura naturally emanated, imposing fear.
"Understood." Bar inexplicably felt his breath catch for a mont, readily agreed, but imdiately sensed sothing was off. However, with the enemy at hand, there was no ti to think, so Bar quickly and quietly relayed the command through the walkie-talkie.
Soon, the blocking troops rushed into the gorge. The person staying below imdiately approached to greet them, briefly explained the situation, and led everyone through the safe passage to continue retreating. Luo Zheng coldly observed this scene, waiting for the enemy to also enter the gorge, seemingly unsuspecting, howling and chasing like mad wolves. His eyes lit up as he swiftly raised his rifle to aim.
As the saying goes: don't chase cornered foes, don't enter forests. The enemy's frantic pursuit was indeed terrifying, but it also had weaknesses, and Luo Zheng set up traps to exploit these. Seeing the pursuers rush into the trap area, he was overjoyed and without hesitation, aid at an enemy, coldly squeezing the trigger. In the darkness, the target fell to the ground.
The enemies were in a frenzy, shooting at the people in front, each howling wildly, pausing occasionally to fire madly at the front without noticing soone being shot. But the gunfire was a signal for Bar, who yelled without hesitation, "Grenade, kill."
The ambushers around them quickly drew out grenades, pulled the pins, and hurled them feverishly into the gorge. Dozens of grenades traced formidable arcs, landing accurately in the crowd, exploding instantly with booming sounds! Red light flashed, shrapnel scattered, rcilessly consuming the lives around them.
Explosions reverberated as if to bring down the entire night sky, terrifying to the extre. More grenades were thrown like rain into the gorge. After being ambushed, the pursuing enemies scattered quickly without realizing there were trip grenades below them. One wrong step caused more grenades to explode.
Explosions, screams, and shouts echoed continuously through the valley for a long ti. An enemy, upon seeing grenades being thrown, panicked, turned to run to the other side, and crawled low without noticing he triggered a trip grenade, with a grenade beside him.
"Boom!" The grenade thrown from the skies exploded ten ters away. The enemy covered his head with his hands, secretly relieved, thinking he dodged a disaster when suddenly his body was lifted off by sothing, dismbered in the Void, fragnted, and in an instant, he knew nothing more.
The pursuing enemies were thrown into disarray by the grenades, triggering more trip grenades and accelerating casualties. But Bar's people kept throwing captured grenades into the gorge. Outnumbered, using grenades for rapid bombardnt was Luo Zheng's arranged tactic. Although Bar's people were reluctant to part with these treasures, for survival's sake, they threw them forcefully, watching the gorge intently, throwing grenades where people gathered, their faces cold.
With grenades overhead and trip grenades underfoot, the pursuing enemies were thrown into chaos, completely panicking, and retreated downwards. At that mont, Bar's people ran out of grenades, and dozens began fiercely shooting at the enemies below the gorge; bullets rained down, felling another wave of enemies who completely lost their advantage, retreating in defeat.
Seeing the good results of the battle, Luo Zheng couldn't help but be overjoyed and yelled, "Chase them!"
"Kill!" Bar shouted a few words in dialect, and everyone rushed downward, shouting and killing, shaking the heavens. The previous retreating troops also made a return charge. No one dared to run in disorder, fearing there were still unexploded trip grenades around, they sprinted down the safe passage, firing continuously.
"Da-da-da! Poof-poof-poof!" The sound of rifle sprays and single shots echoed continuously through the gorge, accompanied by howling battle cries, making the surrounding night sky seem to boil, the murderous aura soaring.
Luo Zheng did not move, coldly watching the scene, secretly breathing a sigh of relief. Ghost Hand and Madela, seeing Luo Zheng not moving, didn't pursue either, watching the surroundings alertly. Ghost Hand worriedly whispered, "The enemies were temporarily pushed back but not defeated. Chasing could be dangerous; do you have another plan?"
