"What is it?" Ghost Hand exclaid excitedly, his entire body trembling with excitent, visible even under the broad camouflage suit. His tiger-like eyes widened, bright as stars beyond the ninth heavens, fixed intently on Luo Zheng, full of anticipation and desire. The hand gripping the steel gun turned pale due to emotion, looking sowhat strange under the moonlight.
Luo Zheng grabbed Ghost Hand's wrist and said worriedly, "Don't get too excited, be careful not to misfire, or everything's over. Take a deep breath and calm down."
"Okay." Ghost Hand nodded, taking deep breaths, forcing himself to calm down. After a while, he exhaled the foul air from his chest, gradually regaining composure, and said with an awkward smile, "I was overly anxious. So, what's your plan? My concern has clouded my judgnt; my brain isn't functioning well anymore."
"Alright, you just need to stay calm." Luo Zheng said seriously, seeing Ghost Hand had indeed controlled his emotions, and couldn't help but smile, "Old brother, you are quite old now; how can you still be so impulsive? Seeing your wife safe and sound should make you happy and more composed. Otherwise, how can you rescue her?"
"Do you think everyone can be as calm as you? Three years, countless nights, I thought I'd never see her again in this lifeti. I didn't expect there'd be a day to see her again. I must rescue her, and soon, or I'll never forgive myself. Tell , what's your plan?" Ghost Hand said earnestly.
"Alright, no more joking." Luo Zheng put away his playful attitude, and his expression gradually beca firm as he looked towards the Hariri Tribe valley. There, lights were ablaze, silhouettes were everywhere, patrol teams all around, even about a kiloter outside the valley, close to a thousand ters away from them. If not for their good concealnt, they would have been discovered.
"Quickly." Ghost Hand urged beside him.
"Look towards the valley." Luo Zheng pointed towards the valley and said softly, "The enemy doesn't seem to be camping; they're resting after dinner, clearly to set off overnight, so they're lazy to set up tents. What does this indicate?"
"It indicates they're planning a nightti action." Ghost Hand's face turned serious, responding earnestly, while observing the valley's direction closely. After a mont, he continued in a low voice, "Brother, don't give riddles; my brain can't handle it right now. Just tell , what are they planning, how should we respond, and how do we rescue?"
"They're surely going to make an overnight march, reaching the border line with the Basto Tribe in one night, to escalate the war. This is speculation, of course. If they act tonight, Hariri could be a bold mastermind. If they miss tonight, Bar could contact other tribal ard forces to strike together, potentially dividing the Hariri Tribe directly. Acting first gives them a chance." Luo Zheng said seriously.
"What you say makes sense, but I don't care about politics. I just want to know the rescue plan; hurry up and tell ." Ghost Hand urged quietly, with only the rescue of his fiancée in mind.
"Will the valley be vulnerable once they move out?" Luo Zheng said impatiently, seeing Ghost Hand nod, he smiled wryly, "You really don't want to think anymore. Such concern clouds your judgnt; fine, I'll be direct. Once the enemy moves out, the valley's defense will certainly slacken considerably. See the open area to the south? Many tents are set up there, housing the wounded. Your wife is a doctor, so she will be arranged there. We'll find a way to sneak up, then disguise ourselves as the wounded to blend in and rescue her, just like last ti in the cave with the dical team rescue."
"A brilliant plan." Ghost Hand exclaid with joy, instantly ignoring the difficulty and danger involved, desperate not to delay a mont to rescue. He looked at Luo Zheng gratefully and asked, "No need for thanks; after all, I'm your brother, rescuing your sister-in-law—it's family. So, when do we act?"
Luo Zheng noticed Ghost Hand still had the humor to joke. Though the humor wasn't quite amusing, it indicated Ghost Hand had regained composure. He secretly breathed a sigh of relief and observed the valley ahead once more before whispering, "Let's rest well for now. Tonight might involve a thousand-mile escape. We'll act once the enemy sets off; for now, there's too many people and patrol teams, leaving no chance to act."
"Alright." Ghost Hand knew Luo Zheng was speaking the truth and agreed reluctantly.
The two ate so jerky and closed their eyes to rest. Heavy forces gathered in the valley with patrol teams all around, yet they paid no attention to farther areas. Their concealed location was very safe; the wind swept gently across the Mountain Ridge, rustling dry grass sporadically, carrying a few leaves floating towards the horizon.
Around them was silent, with so unknown insects singing rrily as if no humans were lurking nearby. The night deepened, and the moon hid behind the clouds. Luo Zheng slowly opened his eyes and looked towards the valley, finding the troops there already assembling, holding torches aloft, illuminating the surroundings.
Luo Zheng was shocked, quickly got into the sniper scope to observe. Through the torchlight, he clearly saw the faces of the assembled troops, seemingly shouting slogans, their expressions cold and morale high. Luo Zheng moved the sniper scope to continue observing, noticing a soldier giving a speech. He carefully watched, recognizing the familiar back, appearing to be Hariri, and couldn't help but smile.
At this mont, Ghost Hand woke up in surprise and stared attentively, asking quietly, "What's the situation?"
"Hariri is giving a speech, getting ready to act, just as we guessed." Luo Zheng said excitedly.
"Not us, you. I'm in no mood to speculate enemy situations." Ghost Hand responded, with so admiration.
"Quite an assembly of forces, indeed indicating major action. With Hariri Tribe's military prowess, the Basto Tribe absolutely cannot resist. We must quickly alert him to prepare defensively. Fortunately, we ca here to scout, or Hariri would catch them off guard, leaving Bar no ti to mobilize more troops for defense." Luo Zheng remarked.
"Hmm, when do we take action?" Ghost Hand cared little for Bar's survival, only wanting to rescue others swiftly.
"We'll act as soon as they move out. We're from the north; bypassing to the south will take so ti but mustn't rush. Moving now might get detected by hidden enemy sentinels. Don't forget Hariri was a rcenary; he's cautious. Better safe than sorry." Luo Zheng advised quietly, turning on the signal device.
"Okay, I'll listen to you." Ghost Hand said reluctantly, suppressing his eagerness.
Before long, the signal device connected to the satellite, and Blue Star's concerned greetings sounded in the headset, "Brother-in-law, are you okay?"
Luo Zheng lowered his voice quickly and said, "I'm fine, imdiately notify your sister. Have her tell Bar that Hariri is mobilizing large forces, possibly heading towards them, to prepare for defense."
