In this ti of peace, guns are prohibited. All the diners around were taken aback by Luo Zheng's iron-fisted thods, and these thugs were no exception. They exchanged hesitant glances, so even started to back down. Soone who could pull a gun in front of Director Gu and seed to be with him surely had a complicated identity, not to be ssed with—running away was the best strategy.
Luo Zheng's cold, sharp gaze swept over the room, and he keenly noticed soone trying to escape. He raised his hand and fired a shot. The person staggered and fell, shot in the calf, blood flowing out. Luo Zheng coldly shouted, "Anyone who runs, I'll shoot. Everyone squats down, or else." An overwhelming aura of nace descended on the thugs, frightening them into submission. They dropped their weapons, put their hands on their heads, and squatted without moving.
Though these thugs swaggered around with arrogance, they knew when to back down. Encountering Luo Zheng left them dumbfounded—he fired just like that, and even though it was just the leg, what if he missed? They couldn't risk losing their lives over a re brawl.
The scene was under control thanks to Luo Zheng's ironclad approach. Director Gu looked at Luo Zheng in shock, unable to fathom Luo Zheng's origins. He glanced at Shi Feng, who gestured not to ask. Shi Feng approached Luo Zheng and whispered, "What do you plan to do next?"
Luo Zheng glanced at Shi Feng, didn't answer, but addressed a nearby patrol officer, "Get Hai Zi's brother over here, I need to see him." With that, he pulled up a chair and sat in front of the big guy, kicking him a few tis in the chest until he woke up. Seeing the handgun in Luo Zheng's hand, his face changed drastically, beads of cold sweat trickling down as he stamred, "What do you want?"
"Your people ate here and didn't pay. How are we settling this bill?" Luo Zheng said coldly.
"I'll pay, I'll pay." The big guy quickly replied, "I'll call soone to bring the money imdiately."
"Not bad. But you insulted her reputation. How are we settling that?" Luo Zheng said coldly.
"I'll pay, I'll pay. Na your price." The big guy said quickly, his eyes filled with terror as he looked at Luo Zheng, utterly scared. A man who dared to openly fire a gun and didn't intend to flee imdiately, and with Director Gu not intervening—it was clear he was soone significant, not to be provoked. The previous arrogance was completely gone.
"What do you think?" Luo Zheng coldly retorted.
"A hundred thousand, I'll pay a hundred thousand." The big guy conceded, gritting his teeth.
"Hm?!" Luo Zheng snorted coldly.
"No, two hundred thousand." Seeing Luo Zheng about to get angry, the big guy quickly shouted.
"Are you trying to give handouts to beggars?" Luo Zheng scoffed coldly, nonchalantly aiming the pistol at him.
"Three hundred thousand, no more. Really." The big guy quickly said, growing pale.
Luo Zheng didn't want to push things too far, decided to let it be, and slapped him across the face, stating coldly, "Then why aren't you making the call?" Then he got up, gave Director Gu a glance, and said, "Director Gu, he requested the compensation himself, what do you think?"
"I don't know anything about this." Director Gu, knowing the complexities behind this incident, wisely replied to avoid involvent.
At this mont, a large group of police arrived, astonished by the scene. Director Gu felt relieved seeing them, promptly saying, "I'll go maintain order." He hurried off.
Then, the patrol officer dragged a young man out from the squatting crowd. He had yellow hair and ear piercings, looking sowhat handso but now pale-faced, trembling from fright. The patrol officer whispered to Luo Zheng, "He's Hai Zi's younger brother."
Luo Zheng beca furious upon hearing this and slapped him. The slap was controlled, causing blood to trickle from his mouth but not knocking him out. He staggered and collapsed, only to be helped up by the patrol officer. Just then, Liu Fang rushed over in shock, grabbing Luo Zheng's hand and shouting, "What are you doing? Why are you hitting him?"
"Huh?" Luo Zheng, surprised, looked at Liu Fang. He didn't expect her to defend Hai Zi's brother so fiercely, which made him admire her even more. Pointing at Hai Zi's brother with disappointnt, he scolded, "You useless bastard, running amok, disgracing your brother. When so many bully your sister-in-law, you do nothing but co here to ddle. She defends you even now. Where's your conscience? Are you even human?"
"Stop it, who are you?" Liu Fang tightly grabbed Luo Zheng's hand, afraid he'd strike again, looking at him in shock, sensing he had so connection to her husband.
With guilt, Luo Zheng glanced at Liu Fang but didn't reveal his identity imdiately. Instead, he looked at Director Gu and said, "I'll leave this to you."
"Don't worry," Director Gu readily agreed.
"Let's leave here first, go to your house," Luo Zheng said to Liu Fang softly, his deanor calming.
"Who exactly are you?" Liu Fang looked at Luo Zheng with suspicion.
Luo Zheng put away his weapon, took out a letter and handed it to her, whispering, "I'm Hai Zi's brother and comrade. I ca late, sister-in-law, I'm sorry." His voice choked with emotion.
"You?" Liu Fang stared at Luo Zheng in surprise, quickly took the letter, and opened it. Recognizing the handwriting, she felt relieved, though she couldn't pinpoint why, and quickly put the letter away, saying urgently, "He's Hai Zi's only brother, the only family he has, you can't hurt him."
"Rest assured, I know what to do," Luo Zheng assured, "Pack up and let's leave here imdiately." He then moved towards the big guy.
The big guy nervously said, "Wait, soone will bring it shortly."
Luo Zheng nodded noncommittally, pulled up a chair, and sat down, glancing at the police busy cordoning off the area, patiently waiting. A few minutes later, soone ca with a lockbox, and the big guy quickly handed it to Luo Zheng. Luo Zheng took it, opened it to reveal neatly stacked cash. With this money, things would get easier. Luo Zheng took the lockbox over to Liu Fang.
Liu Fang had already packed up the catering cart. Shi Feng spoke to the patrol officer, "Leave him to ." Then, grabbing Hai Zi's brother, they followed Liu Fang quietly, pushing the cart along the street. People along the way scattered to make room.
During the walk, no one spoke. They silently moved along until they reached an alley. The dimly lit alley was deserted as everyone had closed shop and gone to bed. They pushed the cart into the alley.
