By noon the next day, everyone returned to Beijing Airport. Shi Feng took his sister-in-law in the car that ca to pick them up and left. Regarding the job arrangents, Luo Zheng knew Shi Feng had more connections and could be trusted with the task, so he hurried ho by himself. As he once again traveled the road ho, Luo Zheng felt emotional; the excitent of returning ho was undeniable.
When the taxi reached the entrance of the neighborhood, Luo Zheng got out and looked at the familiar community, but was stopped by security as he didn't have an access card. Originally wanting to surprise his family, he had no choice but to use the intercom system to ring the doorbell. It was Saturday, his little sister was ho, and upon hearing it was her brother, she was overjoyed and quickly instructed the security to let him in.
Luo Zheng walked through the community garden with his backpack, seeing many people sunbathing, exercising, and children chasing each other playfully. Everything felt so peaceful and beautiful. The sound of the children's laughter was innocent and pure, gradually calming Luo Zheng's heart.
Before he knew it, he arrived at the door of his ho and rang the doorbell. His little sister opened the door, happily helping with the backpack. Luo Zheng quickly took it off himself, as there were weapons that hadn't been returned to the armory and he did not want to scare his family. anwhile, he greeted his parents who had co out to welco him.
Luo Hu and his wife were pleasantly surprised to see their son back. They sat down together, catching up warmly and authentically. Luo Zheng enjoyed this kind of life, seeing his parents in good spirits and satisfied with life, and felt a sense of relief.
The family reunion was filled with happiness, with endless affection perating the living room. After chatting for a while, Mrs. Luo took the little sister to prepare the al. Now that Luo Zheng was back, Mrs. Luo was ready to show off her culinary skills. Luo Hu looked at his son with loving eyes, but a bit of worry gradually appeared as he softly asked, "Have you not been practicing the family cultivation technique recently?"
"Uh? I've been quite busy these past few days," Luo Zheng replied honestly.
"No wonder. I feel a violent aura coming from you. Did you encounter so injustice?" Luo Hu pressed on.
"Yes, but it's already resolved," Luo Zheng answered, surprised that his father noticed. Glancing at his mother and sister in the kitchen, he also quietly asked, "Dad, how has everything been at ho recently? Any difficulties?"
"We have all we need, nothing to worry about. You don't have to be concerned about us; the neighbors are friendly, and your sister's business is doing well. I even visited—it's grown with new people and equipnt. You and your sister are both sensible, and your mom and I are fully retired now, not managing anything. Our greatest wish is for you to get married soon," Luo Hu said with so emotion, rembering the poor mountainous family they once were, now settled in Beijing with no worries, like a dream co true.
"You know about the army situation," Luo Zheng said sowhat awkwardly.
"I know. I'll make sure your mom is reassured, but don't delay for too long. You'll be twenty-three after the New Year, right? Back ho, people have kids at your age," Luo Hu laughed.
"This is Beijing, look around; plenty of people get married at thirty. I have my own plans, so just wait a little longer; it won't be too long," Luo Zheng explained seriously.
"You've set goals for yourself?" Luo Hu curiously asked.
"Yes," Luo Zheng answered earnestly. His goal was to beco the Strongest Soldier King, but he couldn't say that. Fortunately, Luo Hu understood the rules and didn't press further, smiling faintly. Luo Zheng thought for a mont and apologetically continued, "I have to leave early tomorrow, haven't returned to the team yet, and I fear they might have opinions if I delay too long."
"I understand, go on. Visit ho often when you can," Luo Hu said understandingly, casting a curious glance toward Luo Zheng's backpack, hesitant to ask but ultimately saying nothing.
Luo Zheng knew what his father wanted to say but didn't bring it up. The weapons in the bag absolutely could not be exposed; this was a matter of principle. After chatting for a while, soone rang the doorbell. Surprised, Luo Zheng looked at Luo Hu—who would be visiting now? His sister ca out from the kitchen, exclaiming in surprise, "Brother, did you invite soone?"
"No, I didn't. Let open it," Luo Zheng said in surprise, getting up to open the door, finding Lan Xue alongside Ghost Hand, Yu Xin, Mountain Eagle, and Snow Leopard. Surprised and delighted, he asked, "How co you guys are here?"
"What, not welco?" Lan Xue playfully rolled her eyes at Luo Zheng.
"No, it's just that I got stopped at the neighborhood gate. How did you guys get in?" Luo Zheng asked curiously.
"Because I have an access card," Lan Xue said proudly, waving the card at hand with a smile. "Hanging out at the door like a guardian deity or so roadblock, eh?"
"Ah? Co in, co in," Luo Zheng quickly called out, "Dad, Mom, your daughter-in-law is here."
"You rascal," Lan Xue pinched the soft flesh under Luo Zheng's arm, knowing his thick skin, using enough force to make him wince. However, she greeted the father in the living room happily and walked toward the kitchen, seemingly treating this place as her own ho, making Luo Zheng smile.
"Uncle Hu, this is my wife, her first visit here, please give your opinion. If suitable, we should hurry and get married to avoid her being taken by soone else. If not, we should still get married and train accordingly until you are satisfied," Ghost Hand joyously brought Yu Xin over to Luo Hu and said.
"Do I have to worry about your taste? If she caught your eye, she must be extraordinary. I won't say much more. It's great you all ca, stay for a few drinks with ," Luo Hu said happily, arranging for everyone to sit down, subconsciously treating Ghost Hand and others as his own sons.
Being old friends, there was no need for formalities. His sister ran out to greet Yu Xin pleasantly and teasingly said, "Brother Gui Li, didn't expect you'd hide such a beautiful wife. This isn't right. Let's have a good drink together or else you're in trouble."
"No, I wouldn't dare. Please show rcy," Ghost Hand had experienced the sister's alcohol capacity, downing drinks like water, and quickly pleaded.
"Alright, I won't argue with you. When are you two bringing your wives over?" she asked Mountain Eagle and Snow Leopard, who both laughed awkwardly and quickly changed the subject. The sister didn't insist and pulled Yu Xin into the kitchen.
Everyone casually chatted and joked, with the atmosphere becoming lively and harmonious. Luo Zheng felt very grateful for their presence, bringing joy to his parents. This sense of ho made Luo Zheng feel grounded yet also guilty.
Soon, the food was brought out, and everyone gathered around with bowls, drinks, happily eating together, toasting each other, joking, as endless laughter and joy filled the room.
