The pitch-black night sky was filled with a chilling air; the moon had hidden away at so point, and the stars were nowhere to be seen. A slight cold wind swept through, indicating a drop in temperature. Near the slums on the edge of a city, countless military and police vehicles arrived, and a large number of troops and police imposed martial law on the surroundings. Their firm and powerful footsteps trampled the streets, producing a synchronized and overwhelming sound that was unusually eerie in the darkness of the night.

Nobody around knew what was happening; they kept their doors and windows shut, not daring to co out. Quickly, a military vehicle roared in and stopped at an open area. A military officer with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel jumped out, dressed in camouflaged combat gear, wearing a bulletproof helt, with a pistol strapped to his belt. His face was gloomy, and his eyes were cold.

If Luo Zheng were here, he would imdiately recognize this person as Jackson. Jackson coldly glanced at the slums ahead, stretched lazily, looked up at the sky with complete indifference, and did a chest-expanding exercise. At this mont, a policeman ran up, saluted, and said, "Commander, the area is already under lockdown. Even if they had wings, they couldn't fly away. Should we launch an attack?"

Jackson just glanced at the person without saying anything. At this point, a Major in combat gear jogged over, saluted, and excitedly said, "Old Captain, these bastards have been surrounded by us."

"Any stragglers?" Jackson asked the Major coldly.

"Report, none." The Major confidently replied. Seeing Jackson's eyes full of doubt, he quickly explained, "These bastards are indeed pretty tough, and they dispersed quickly in an attempt to break through. Fortunately, you were prepared, and our troops arrived in ti, forming a big encirclent, blocking all their retreat routes. Like herding ducks, we pushed everyone towards here."

"Any stragglers?" Jackson repeated the previous question, his face becoming even colder.

"This?" The Major hesitated. The city is so big that anyone could break out before the troops arrived, but he didn't dare say that. After hesitating for a mont, he imdiately said, "Commander, I can only guarantee that after arriving, there were no stragglers, but before arriving, it's uncertain."

"Hmm?" Jackson gave a non-committal cold snort, glanced at the slums ahead, and coldly said, "How many expected inside? Can they be taken down?"

"Report, no problem." The Major said confidently again. Seeing Jackson wasn't very convinced, he hurriedly said, "Old Captain, don't you know the ans of our brothers? Although you are no longer our captain, you should know their capabilities, right? Rest assured, however, there may be casualties during the attack. What if they threaten with hostages?"

"Don't worry, they won't do that. I know them too well." Jackson said coldly. Seeing the Major still uneasy, he unhappily snorted, "This joint operation is highly focused on. The President is waiting for our good news. Take them out, and it's a mighty achievent for everyone. If there are stragglers, the consequences are very serious, so we must take them down at all costs."

"Yes." Upon hearing this, the Major instantly grasped the underlying implication of Jackson's words — that in necessity, civilian safety could be disregarded. Considering the President's attention to this matter, the Major did not dare be careless and agreed wholeheartedly. He asked sternly, "Commander, shall we proceed, please instruct?"

The police chief beside hesitated to look at Jackson but ultimately refrained from speaking more. Jackson was the front-line commander for this joint operation, and all personnel were under his command; the police played only a supporting role. Realizing the President's attention, the police chief also recognized the situation's depth — deep enough that he shouldn't ddle, smartly choosing compliance and silence.

"How many people estimated? Where are they hiding?" Jackson coldly pursued.

"Probably around a dozen, hiding in the middle of the slum. They've seized the high ground. A frontal attack will incur certain costs. Our troops can provide periter pressure, with our n leading the assault this ti. We dispatched fifty people, enough to take them down." The Major said seriously.

Jackson looked at the Major, his forr subordinate, now serving as Pot Lid Head Special Warfare Group Squad Leader — the nation's strongest force. Fifty against a dozen, with many troops cooperating from the periter, gave him confidence. He coldly said, "You lead the charge. Ensure victory in one stroke. Other troops encircle them as backup. Not a single person must escape. The police do strict lockdown outside, no one permitted near. Any resistance encountered, kill without rcy."

"Yes." The Major and police replied in unison.

"Get ready to go, attack precisely in three minutes. Resolve the issue within two minutes. I don't care how you fight, only the result counts. Rember, life and death are disregarded." Jackson stated coldly.

"Yes." The Major and police responded loudly and turned to leave for deploynt.

Almost simultaneously, inside a civilian house in the central area of the slum, Ghost Hand and Snow Leopard sat on the ground in wordless mutual silence, faces filled with chilling murderous intent. Snow Leopard furiously shouted, "Brothers, we didn't expect these bastards to deploy a large encirclent in the outskirts, leaving our dispersed breakout brothers with no route and forced to retreat."

"Encircled, I know it. These bastards, damned." Ghost Hand said coldly, pondering.

"What to do now?" Snow Bear said angrily.

"Have you noticed, these bastards intentionally drove us here. Why?" Ghost Hand's face turned grave, speaking seriously, his brows tightening.

"Huh? Could it be they estimate launching an attack after driving us here? This is the slum; so people dying wouldn't cause much attention, at least less hassle than city dwellers dying. Does it an next they'll launch a fierce attachnt disregarding innocents?" Snow Leopard, enraged, shouted.

"Yes, precisely. We're now in desperate straits. Unexpectedly, our brothers can still be together before dying — rather interesting. Why couldn't you break through?" Ghost Hand, face chilling, sneered at Snow Leopard, "If you broke through, another brother could help avenge us. Now it's done; everyone's taken together in one gulp."

"Why didn't you break through? Blaming ." Snow Leopard protested discontentedly, suddenly having an epiphany, stared tightly at Ghost Hand, and said, "You an the old brother broke through?"

"Nonsense, look around; all brothers have been forced together by the enemy's big encirclent. Don't forget, we dispersedly broke through, now together again. Who's notably missing?" Ghost Hand reminded coldly, wisdom gleaming in his eyes.
