Ten minutes later, the darkness grew even deeper. Although the bright moonlight scattered over the vast primal forest, the light was blocked by tall trees, leaving the ground shrouded in shadows, pitch black, and visibility reduced further. The night wind rustled tirelessly, shaking the trees and creating rustling sounds, as if birds and beasts sensed danger and hid from sight.
A wide valley shone as bright as day, with the searchlights atop tall wooden towers sweeping the surroundings, illuminating the entire valley. You could clearly see the tents inside the valley, patrol teams, and soldiers lounging around campfires, playing cards and chatting. The boisterous laughter could be heard from afar.
On a slope a thousand ters away, a team quietly lay in wait within the dark dense forest, eyes alertly fixed on the valley's direction, filled with a cold murderous intent – it was none other than Luo Zheng and his team who had arrived. As Luo Zheng calmly observed the valley's enemy situation, he was puzzled by their carelessness and glanced at Lan Xue.
Lan Xue understood and said, "There's only one explanation: they didn't expect us to join the fray. If not for us passing through here, we wouldn't have discovered this base. The Hook Tribe especially wouldn't have found the enemy's rear base, so they're quite relaxed, not expecting us to return."
"You've got a point. The enemy never expected us to join the battle, and just happened to discover this base. With this group's professional camouflaging, even satellites would struggle to find them, let alone the hunted Hook Tribe. The enemy's carelessness is good for us," Luo Zheng nodded in agreent.
"What are you two talking about? Isn't it ti to act?" Hook reminded from the side.
Luo Zheng checked his watch; the scheduled ti was just right. He then switched to international language and said, "Wait three more minutes to give your people enough ti to prepare. We can use the opportunity to observe a little more to find the enemy's weak points. Do you see it? The enemy's defense is tight on the outside and loose inside; it's more like a defense against wild animals."
"These bastards underestimate us, and completely ignore us," Hook said coldly.
"No, it's just that they didn't expect us to return," Luo Zheng smiled.
"True, without you leading the way, we wouldn't have known about this base, nor could we have circled back here," Hook agreed, though still adding indignantly, "These people are too confident; we must give them a lesson. They're not even considering defenses against our sneak attack."
"Isn't that better? Do you want the enemy to be on full alert waiting for your sneak attack?" Luo Zheng chuckled in annoyance, seeing Hook's sheepish smile. He didn't delve further into the issue but grew more serious, instructing, "It seems like there are estimated to be around four hundred people now, still within our capability to handle. Don't underestimate their carelessness; it's because they have reasons to be careless. Once we move forward about another hundred ters, there will likely be infrared detectors and they'll react imdiately. A fight could be tough."
"You're right, so do we fight now?" Hook eagerly asked, the juicy target right before him, feeling impatient.
"Fight, why not fight?" Luo Zheng countered.
"Alright then, I'll lead the n up," Hook said excitedly.
"Form an attacking formation and charge forward quickly," Luo Zheng seriously instructed.
"Understood," Hook agreed enthusiastically, instructing the officers beside him, who eagerly responded and moved out.
Not long after, orders were relayed, and the team lurking in the dense forest began to stir. Each of them picked up their weapons and charged forward, silent as hungry wolves waiting for a chance, eyes full of battle intent shining in the nightti, with swift movents.
Luo Zheng followed closely behind the team, beside him were Lan Xue and Hook, who held onto a walkie-talkie to issue commands anyti. Three other brothers, carrying sniper rifles, followed behind them, everyone taking big strides forward.
The team had covered so distance when suddenly the enemy camp's alarm blared loudly, and searchlights swept across. The enemy grabbed weapons, seeking cover, quickly entering combat-ready states. Monts earlier, they were gambling and joking, now vigilantly searching for targets.
Luo Zheng, seeing this, couldn't help but respect Sam Country's military's reaction speed. Hook's expression shifted, tiger-like eyes locked in focus. The team was still several hundred ters from the valley base; if the enemy launched RPGs, casualties would be severe. Leaving no room for underestimation, Hook glanced at Luo Zheng and said, "These bastards react fast indeed."
"What did you expect? Sam Country's regular army is not to be trifled with. Infrared detectors are everywhere around here, and you can't easily tell where they are. Even if discovered and dismantled, it'll alarm them. Unless you cross over, but how can all our people cross without detection? We'll have to charge through. The enemy hasn't realized it's a sneak attack yet, they might see it as animals accidentally tripping the detectors, otherwise they'd have fired already," Luo Zheng reminded.
"Makes sense; let's keep moving forward without firing yet, shorten the attack distance first," Hook agreed, seeing Luo Zheng nod, he quickly relayed low commands through an earpiece.
The team continued an urgent march forward, weaving through trees swiftly like attacking hungry wolves, casting long black shadows in the night, terrifying to behold. At this mont, searchlights illuminated the forest canopy, shining over them, but the team continued rushing forward, beyond the searchlight's reconnaissance, quickly closing the distance.
Luo Zheng coldly watched the searchlights and estimated the distance, shouting, "Soone eliminate the searchlights."
"Let ," one brother quickly raised his sniper rifle and aid.
"Whizz!" A gunshot broke the night's silence, adding more terror, the bullet darting through the darkness crucially hitting the searchlight, causing it to fall, vaguely a figure also tumbled from the wooden tower, landing heavily without a scream.
"Speed up, rush in, hold off firing, prepare for combat," Luo Zheng said to Hook.
Hook nodded understandingly, picked up the walkie-talkie, and shouted a few commands. Soon, Luo Zheng noticed the forward troops accelerating, pulling gun bolts, creating a series of clicks, extrely eerie in the night. anwhile, the valley's opposing enemies indiscriminately fired, sweeping wildly around.
With the searchlights out, the enemy's vision was affected, and with that abrupt shot, they didn't know where the attack ca from and could only roughly gauge direction. Dense gunfire ford streaks of fla in the night sky, akin to life-taking charms, terrifying in the darkness.
The battle was about to erupt!
