Two nights later, the sky was covered with clouds, the stars hidden, and the night sky was as dark as ink, obscuring everything. The endless forest was dim and silent, each mountain towering like a primitive beast, calmly watching ahead. Occasionally, a wild bird flitted by, adding a touch of eeriness to the lifeless mountains, and even the usually noisy insects fell silent.
The oppressive mountains and the silent forest turned the entire earth into a dark world, but in one valley, three huge bonfires burned, arranged in the shape of a triangle. The flas soared, dancing with the wind, as if trying to dispel the thick night. So people gathered around the bonfire, silently gazing at the sky. Among them, one person frowned with concern in his eyes—Luo Zheng.
According to the agreent, the dostic support troops should have reached the designated location an hour ago, but they encountered a storm and had to change their route. Standing next to him was Lan Xue, also worried. Such long-distance air support had too many variables: the climate, the enemy, and so on; each one was not to be underestimated.
"Look, it's coming," Hook suddenly shouted, pointing in one direction in the night sky, "Is that the flashing light?"
Hook had good eyesight and could see at night, seeing further than Luo Zheng and Lan Xue. He noticed the anomaly ahead of ti, and everyone looked in the direction Hook pointed. Sure enough, in the endless night sky, there was a flashing light, still far away, but very noticeable in the vast and deep night sky. They couldn't help but smile; with no stars in the sky, what else could that flashing light be if not a plane?
Cross-country long-distance air support could only use civil aviation aircraft, as military planes would be regarded as invading forces and subjected to missile attacks as soon as they left the country; it was impossible for them to fly thousands of miles here. Luo Zheng looked up at the increasingly close light and exhaled; they finally arrived. He whispered, "Tell your people to prepare for reception."
"Don't worry, my people are already distributed in the surrounding forest. Even if your people accidentally land far away, soone will catch up and bring them back," Hook said with a smile, looking at the much closer light. His heart settled inexplicably; as long as Huaxia's support was there, Hook was filled with confidence for the future.
Soon, they faintly heard the sound of the aircraft, and the light appeared overhead. In the blink of an eye, countless small white flowers suddenly appeared in the night sky, floating down. Everyone excitedly laughed, throwing dry wood onto the bonfire to make it blaze, guiding the direction for the parachutists.
Before long, they saw parachutes falling, with people and boxes containing combat supplies, ammunition, dication, and more. Looking at the faintly visible figures, Luo Zheng finally breathed a sigh of relief. He turned to Lan Xue and said, "They've arrived; it's ti for a counterattack."
"Indeed, it's been ten days already. Our brothers imprisoned in the Dark Prison can't last much longer; we must rescue them quickly. Have you thought out the Counterattack Plan?" Lan Xue asked quietly.
The two conversed in Huaxia language, not worried about being overheard. The only ones who understood were their own brothers, so it didn't matter. Luo Zheng nodded and said, "The enemy's tactical arrangent is clear: small teams penetrate to reconnaissance, mark the target, followed by missile attacks. They call for ard helicopters for small-scale targets. This air-ground joint strike grips us by the throat, making it hard to deal with. So, I want to first eliminate the reconnaissance teams, turning the enemy blind. The fight will be much easier after that."
"That's reasonable, but small reconnaissance teams are all incredibly fierce soldiers; it's not easy to accomplish. Do you have a plan?" Lan Xue asked incredulously, looking at Luo Zheng's eyes with expectation. Turning her gaze to the night sky, the figures beca clearer, and Lan Xue suddenly realized, saying, "Did you want to wait for our people to arrive before taking action, having them deal with the recon teams?"
"Correct. This support team is half rookies, half veterans. The top intends to drill the soldiers, and the recon teams are the best whetstones for them. This opportunity is rare. Once these reconnaissance troops are eliminated, our Special Forces will be famous," Luo Zheng said seriously, eyes blazing with fierce battle spirit.
"Makes sense, best to capture so for bargaining, increasing the chances to exchange hostages. We care about our brothers' safety, and the recon teams care about their brothers' safety. If the Sam Country Governnt refuses, the recon teams would be disheartened, and we might leverage that," Lan Xue seriously said.
Luo Zheng was taken aback, soon brightening up, saying, "Exactly, let's go; they're here. Let's check it out."
As they spoke, the support troops had landed. Although the sky was pitch black, there was no wind, perfect for parachuting. With the guiding bonfire in the valley, everyone landed accurately around the valley, quickly undoing their parachutes.
Luo Zheng joyfully shouted, "Brothers, welco to the battle!" His sharp eyes scanned around, quickly spotting a familiar figure. He ran over and saw it was Captain Li, and delightedly ran up, saluting excitedly, shouting, "Greetings, Captain!"
"Don't talk nonsense," Captain Li grumbled while undoing his parachute, glaring at Luo Zheng discontentedly. Seeing Lan Xue running over, he nodded at her before turning to Luo Zheng, saying, "You've got so guts now, creating such a commotion. Thanks to you, I can return to the battlefield; not bad. If I can return safely, I'll treat you to a drink. anwhile, orders from above: you're the frontline commander. I report to you, feel free to call your brother, as you'll have to do so anyway, right, Xue Er?"
"Calling you brother is fine, but is there any gift?" Lan Xue asked with a smile.
"Of course, ask your sister-in-law later; you won't miss this gift," Captain Li replied with a grin, skillfully putting away his parachute. He walked to Luo Zheng, solemnly saluting, saying, "Special Warfare Team of the Northwest Group Army ordered to report; awaiting instructions from the frontline commander, Captain Li Wu."
"Brother Li, let's not do this," Luo Zheng hurriedly stepped forward, giving Captain Li a bear hug, gratefully saying, "We're family, no need for formalities. I am your soldier, always will be. It's great you could co; brothers in arms for the fight."
"Good brother, whatever tough missions there are, hand them to our team. Grandfather instructed to follow your command, not to act rashly, let gain rits and not disgrace him. You've made great achievents; as your brother, I cannot lag behind. Rember?" Captain Li said in a low voice.
"Understood," Luo Zheng was stunned, suddenly comprehending Mr. Li's intention in nurturing Captain Li. His expression turned stern, earnestly saying, "I'll let your team fight the first battle; it's challenging. If not done well, don't bla ."
"Sure, guaranteed to complete the task," Captain Li rejoiced upon hearing this, smiling contentedly, with fighting spirit surging from his tiger-like eyes, like a volcano erupting.
