The scorching sun was like fire, roasting the vast prival forest. It pierced through the dense trees, clashed with the cold air on the damp ground, forming a mist that spread out, rising to the canopy and lingering there. The entire forest felt like a huge stear, suffocating anyone inside. A team quietly lurked on a mountain ridge, sweat pouring down their backs, even their faces were covered in sweat, and the palms holding the guns were sweaty, wet and uncomfortable, but everyone remained silent, calmly watching the open area ahead.

On the open ground, dozens of people were digging foxholes, working in pairs, one responsible for digging, the other collecting dead grass and twigs to weave it into cover. Everyone moved skillfully, their hands moving so fast they were hard to catch with the naked eye. The enemy could co at any ti, and gunshots were getting closer, ti was of the essence, as everyone was giving it their all.

The dirt under the sharp engineering shovels seed like tofu, easily cut away and shoveled out. After two minutes, the foxholes began taking shape. On the mountain ridge, Luo Zheng calmly watched the dense forest in the distance where so firefights were happening and getting closer. His tiger eyes widened as he said to Hook beside him, "Have your n hold on a little longer."

"Understood." Hook replied, quickly shouting into the walkie-talkie.

Luo Zheng couldn't understand Hook's local dialect. He turned his tiger eyes to the brothers digging the foxholes and said through the earpiece, "Don't stop, dig a little deeper."

Upon hearing this, the guys digging the foxholes worked harder. The brother who had finished weaving the cover ca over to swap places, while the other scattered the dirt into the shrubs to avoid detection. Soon, the gunshots were much closer; it was clear Hook's n couldn't hold out any longer. Everyone's nerves tightened, looking towards Luo Zheng.

Seeing it was almost done, Luo Zheng imdiately shouted, "Prepare to retreat."

The one digging the foxhole heard Luo Zheng's command, imdiately jumped into the foxhole, squatting to hide. The other covered the foxhole with the prepared cover and quickly retreated. The cover was full of upright branches and dead grass, looking just like a clump of shrubs, blending into the surrounding vegetation, making it difficult to spot.

Once everyone retreated into the forest, ard personnel in tatters, looking disheveled and covered in blood whose origin was unknown, retreated to the open area and began to fight back. Their morale was comndable as Luo Zheng calmly watched this scene, imdiately saying to Hook, "Quick, have your n retreat from the center, line up, don't run wildly, be careful not to step into the foxholes."

"Understood." Hook promptly agreed and relayed the order.

The ard personnel fighting back received the command and swiftly retreated, quickly forming a line and rushing forward. Seeing this, Luo Zheng praised, "Old friend, your troupe is impressive, not even being crushed in such conditions. With this morale, you don't have to worry about driving the enemy away."

"Unfortunately, it's down to about sixty now; it used to be nearly a hundred." Hook said quietly with grief.

"Yes, they paid a heavy price to buy ti, but in war, who doesn't die? As long as we take down this enemy, their sacrifices will be worth it. What we, the survivors, need to do is avenge the dead and drive the enemy away. Don't you agree?" Luo Zheng consoled.

"Okay," Hook nonchalantly agreed, grabbing the walkie-talkie to shout louder, seemingly guiding his n along, urging them to run faster.

When the ard personnel reached halfway, the pursuers appeared behind them: a fully-ard enemy, perhaps seeing the open sights ahead, didn't continue charging but crouched down to shoot, calm and collected. Each gunshot saw another ard personnel fall. With no trees to block the view, the open sights provided excellent shooting conditions, allowing the enemy's gun skills to fully erge.

"Bastard!" Hook raged, clenching his fist, face turning pale as he looked towards Luo Zheng, "Save them?"

"No, if we act now, it will all be for naught. Not only won't you save your n, but you'll also scare the enemy away, wasting all sacrifices. Endure, stay still," Luo Zheng decisively refused Hook's request.

Hook understood this truth, gritting his steel teeth, eyes wide open as he watched ahead, a cold chill on his face. The attacked personnel were fired up too; two of them turned their guns and frantically fired back, ferociously defending others as they retreated with angry roars, like wounded tigers making one last stand.

"Rat-a-tat-tat!" Bullets swept across as the enemy quickly took cover. The fired bullets landed on the grass, with no sight of the enemy, yet the two ard personnel didn't stop shooting, continuing to fire at suspicious spots, loudly urging their companions to retreat quickly.

"Whiz, whiz!" Two sniper bullets whistled out from the dense forest, carrying a deadly aura, instantly hitting the two counter-attacking ard personnel, their bodies flying back, bursting into a spray of blood in the void, landing with wide eyes, full of boundless anger and reluctance.

"Bastard." Luo Zheng coldly watched this scene, gritting his steel teeth, his eyes full of killing intent, and said softly through the earpiece, "Mountain Eagle, find the enemy sniper, take him down."

"Yes." Mountain Eagle's response ca through the earpiece.

"These bastards, I want to skin them alive." Hook said fiercely and quietly.

By this ti, the ard personnel had reached the forest edge, but the enemy fired again, coldly killing a few more ard personnel. Seeing them rush into the forest, one enemy quickly followed up. Luo Zheng lifted the sniper scope and saw the opponent's face full of a ferocious cold smile, like a cat playing with a mouse, completely unafraid that the ard personnel diving into the trees would escape, running fast and on the verge of entering the ambush circle.

"Is the enemy only one man, do we shoot?" Hook softly asked.

"We can't shoot." Luo Zheng decisively whispered, continuing to watch ahead, but suddenly saw the enemy pounce like a tiger to the ground, rolling into a low-lying area, motionless, surprised. Had he been spotted? Quickly whispered through the earpiece, "No one move, stay hidden."

Just then, sothing like a bird flew out from the dense forest, over the open area, Luo Zheng was shocked, his face growing serious. This hummingbird-like surveillance drone could be remotely controlled with a cara to transmit the monitored video imdiately to terminal devices like tablet displays. It was standard equipnt for special forces in Sam Country.

The hummingbird hovered over the open area for a while, then flew into the forest. The brothers hidden underground in the open area, covered with artificial shrubs, weren't worried about being spotted due to their anti-infrared camouflage suits. But the brothers lurking on both sides of the forest had no foxholes to hide in, relying solely on their camouflage suits, easily recognizable by the enemy. Luo Zheng grew concerned.
