Jackson didn't move, not even a blink, staring blankly ahead into the void, expressionless. The survivor scread in pain a few tis, but seeing no response from Jackson, gradually regained composure, realizing sothing was wrong, and scrutinized Jackson closely. Suddenly, he reached out and slapped Jackson hard twice, the crisp sound echoing even amidst the rain.

"Uh?" Jackson was jolted awake, surprised to look at the survivor. At this mont, mories flooded back into his mind. Jackson suddenly looked up to the sky, his entire body bending backward, mouth wide open, letting out a painful roar: "Ah—!" like a wounded, desperate fierce beast.

The sound rolled like thunder, echoing far away, lingering in the dense forest, but soon was drowned out by the sound of rain. Jackson stared skyward, eyes wide open, face bitter, gazing at the endless sky, allowing the rain to batter his face, experiencing endless despair and humiliation rushing to his brain.

"Chief, revenge, avenge our brothers." The survivor roared, eyes full of resentnt and hatred.

"Revenge?" Jackson was startled, then muttered, "Revenge, yes, revenge." Inevitably, his mind cleared up a bit, slowly rising, looking at the corpses scattered around, he continued mournfully: "Gone, all gone, the brothers have passed, how to avenge?"

"There's still , and other brothers from the troops, our powerful country as backing. This grievance must be avenged; our brothers can't die in vain." The survivor shouted determinedly.

"Right, there's still the country." Jackson seed to see hope, his mind cleared significantly, a new spark in his vacant eyes, gratefully glanced at the survivor, his gaze once again towards the battlefield, seeing the reconnaissance troops following behind, he shouted loudly: "Hurry up and save people?"

The reconnaissance troops quickly got into action, but everywhere were dismbered bodies making identification impossible, unable to be pieced together. Jackson's gaze gradually turned icy, filled with hatred and fear, looking at the survivor, said: "Quick, check if there are other brothers still alive."

"Yes." The survivor agreed bitterly, quickly going to check the situation.

Jackson coldly gazed towards the west, where his greatest enemy, adversary in life was located. An unusual feeling surged within; could such a powerful enemy be defeated? Why did he always lose? Why? Endless loneliness surged, Jackson for the first ti doubted if he could beat such a formidable opponent and for the first ti felt a sense of fear towards a powerful adversary.

This fear left Jackson unsure of what to do next. After a while, the survivor hurriedly returned, with a bit of surprise on his face, and quickly said: "Chief, there are still eleven brothers who were knocked unconscious by the missile, revived but severely injured and probably unable to fight." Saying this, the survivor's face beca bitter, not being able to fight as a soldier—is he still a soldier?

"Still eleven survivors?" Hearing this, Jackson rejoiced, feeling much better inside. Three Pot Lid Head Special Warfare Groups; each is a top-notch elite, hand-picked among thousands, hard for the country to cultivate even one. A missile attack confined all of them here, which angered Jackson but also left him helpless. Luckily there were survivors, which was sowhat comforting.

However, as Jackson thought of the survivor also being severely injured and unable to fight, anger surged inside; this result was no different from total annihilation? Nearby, the survivor also understood what this result ant but felt unwilling, saying: "Chief, I'll lead the reconnaissance troops up, won't rest until they're killed."

"No, you can't go." Jackson suddenly felt this would be extrely dangerous, hurriedly stopped him, seeing the survivor full of unwillingness, he persuaded: "Brother, we can't rush, given our current situation, even if we catch up, we can't eliminate the enemy. Better to keep our strength for the future."

"But, will the brothers die in vain?" The survivor shouted unwillingly.

"Who said the brothers died in vain?" Jackson roared back, "This grievance must be avenged. I swear, staking my life, until death, relentless—just not now. Our base was sneak attacked by two fighter jets, suffered heavy losses, I must return to oversee things. Besides, given our current condition, it's impossible to pursue, what if the enemy sends helicopters to attack again?"

"What? Damn it." Hearing the base was attacked by fighter jets, the survivor's face changed dramatically, swearing angrily.

The surrounding reconnaissance troops, hearing the news, paused their tasks, turned their heads towards Jackson, faces changed, eyes full of doubt. How could the base possibly be attacked? But upon seeing Jackson's angry expression, everyone knew it was true. Each got angry, stood up looking toward Luo Zheng, as a Major jogged over, saluted, then shouted: "Commander, please lead us to pursue, avenge, we must avenge."

"Yes, avenge." Others gathered around, shouting angrily.

If it were before, Jackson would have agreed without hesitation, leading everyone in pursuit, calling for helicopter support if needed, or using missiles, but now the base was destroyed, all vehicle-borne missiles were blown up, even helicopters were destroyed, unable to take off and participate in battles. After this devastating defeat, Jackson beca fearful, losing confidence, instinctively refusing everyone's request to fight.

"Chief, I'll take part of the people, at least can bite onto them, find out where they're hiding, you quickly return to oversee things. Many of our advanced officers were captured, with no one overseeing things, it's unacceptable. Maybe the holand is waiting for your recovery. Trust , I can hold them off." The survivor vowed firmly, suggesting.

"No, you can't go." Jackson instinctively refused.

"Why?" The survivor evidently sensed Jackson's timidity, lacking forr sharpness, his face sank, concerned but still questioning.

"Because we can't attack the enemy in the short term, this process might take three months, maybe half a year, or even longer. What can you do following the enemy? Once discovered, it'll only result in more sacrifices. Too many have died already, I don't wish to see more deaths." Jackson coldly explained.

"Why not attack?" The survivor unwillingly pursued.

"Yeah, why?" The reconnaissance troop Major echoed.

"Because we lost our air strike capabilities, no ard helicopters, no missiles, no fighter jets. Do you think our combat power can defeat the natives familiar with this prival forest? If possible, we'd have won long ago, why wait until now?" Jackson coldly shouted, his words indisputable: "Everyone listen to my orders, gather the brothers, retreat."
