At the entrance of a certain military harbor, the number of stern sentry posts has doubled compared to the past. Each guard is ard and vigilantly observing the surroundings. Every incoming vehicle must hold a special pass; otherwise, entry is absolutely prohibited. The sudden increase in the level of alert has caused inconvenience to many, but no one dares to complain, and they have no choice but to drive away.
A black car slowly approached. Inside, everything was obscured by dark curtains; it was impossible to see who was seated inside. It had a regular civilian license plate, the kind that normally shouldn't be entering this military restricted area. Many people at the entrance curiously watched as the car drove closer, and so kind-hearted individuals signaled it to turn back, to avoid trouble.
The driver was a young man, appearing to be in his thirties, with a flat-top haircut and sunglasses, his face showing no emotional changes. He ignored the people who were advising him to pull back and did not even roll down the window, driving gradually toward the gate. A soldier with a gun stepped forward to block the way, saluted, and signaled to stop for inspection.
The car window slowly rolled down a bit, and the driver handed over a docunt and credentials. The inspector took them and examined them carefully, then ran back to the sentry post to make a phone call for confirmation before quickly allowing passage. Under the curious gaze of many, the car drove into the harbor, heading toward the dock.
Soon, the car stopped at the dock, and a man and a woman got out, dressed in ordinary casual clothing, wearing baseball caps and large sunglasses, as if fearing being recognized. They carried bags in their hands and walked toward a submarine docked at the harbor. At the gangway leading to the submarine, soldiers stood guard and imdiately signaled the two to stop, shouting, "Identification!"
The man and woman handed over their IDs. The soldier took a look, his tone imdiately softened, and said politely, "You're five minutes late. Please proceed. We've been waiting just for you two."
"Thank you." The two retrieved their IDs and walked forward.
Soon, two people erged from the entrance of the submarine to welco them. They helped with the bags and led the two inside, through a short passage into a large hall. In the hall, two fully ard individuals were waiting; it was Luo Zheng and Lan Xue. Seeing the arrivals, Luo Zheng smiled and approached, saying, "Shi Qian, Cao Xi, you two have finally arrived. Thanks for your effort."
The arrivals were indeed Shi Qian and Cao Xi. Cao Xi curiously observed the surroundings, while Shi Qian, also curious but knowing it was impolite, quickly said, "Your arrangent to pick us up was precise, but we encountered unexpected traffic on the way, delaying us by a few minutes. Are we taking a nuclear submarine this ti?"
"Any problems?" Luo Zheng smiled and asked.
"None at all," Shi Qian quickly replied.
Suddenly Cao Xi said, "To have the country dispatch a nuclear submarine for transport, your identities must be far from ordinary. This makes even more curious about who you are, though I know you won't say, so I'd better not ask to avoid awkwardness. While aboard the nuclear submarine, I suppose we mustn't roam around, but stay within designated areas? It would be best to inform us beforehand to avoid misunderstandings."
"You truly are a genius with an IQ over 150. You've said much already; this is a military site. You are not military personnel, and being allowed on board is an exception. There's a confidentiality agreent you need to sign. Everything you see and hear here cannot be leaked, not even half a word, or it will be considered treason. You should know the consequences, which are the rules, and I hope you understand." Luo Zheng said seriously.
"No problem." Shi Qian and Cao Xi understood the reasoning and readily agreed.
A Navy Captain dressed in uniform approached and handed each of them a docunt and pen. Once they signed, he took the docunts away, saluted Luo Zheng, and left. Luo Zheng looked at them and said, "The equipnt is in your rooms. If you have questions, you can ask us. Now let show you to your accommodations."
They walked down a passage, stopping at the entrance of a small room in the accommodation area. Luo Zheng pointed to the door and said, "The rooms are opposite each other; you can choose. Lunch is in two hours, and soone will call you for the al. anwhile, you can rest in your rooms or visit others; the front and rear rooms are occupied by my people. Xue Er and I live next to you, with on the left and Xue Er on the right."
"I'll take the right one then," Cao Xi said, pushing the right door open and going in.
"Xue Er, go in and tell her about the equipnt's functions," Luo Zheng instructed Lan Xue.
Lan Xue agreed and went inside. Seeing Shi Qian open the door, Luo Zheng followed him inside, took a military backpack from the room, and opened it. He seriously explained, while taking out the tight-fitting suit and Bullet-Resistant Vest, "These are national secrets and should not be disclosed. They are only temporarily lent for your use and need to be returned afterward. By the way, did you bring the Invisibility Suit?"
"I did. What's this good stuff you have here?" Shi Qian asked curiously.
Luo Zheng picked up the tight-fitting suit and said, "This is a tight-fitting suit that can envelop your entire body."
"It looks like a full-body diving suit, covering from head to toe. Is it convenient for movent?" Shi Qian pursued further.
"It has strong elasticity, fits well, and doesn't hinder movent. Moreover, this suit has excellent bulletproof capabilities; ordinary bullets at close range pose no problem, and it also has fireproof and waterproof functions." Luo Zheng explained, while handing the Bullet-Resistant Vest to Shi Qian, saying, "Bullet-Resistant Vest, can guard against stray rifle rounds, double-layered for better safety. Combined with a Tactical Bullet-Proof Vest, it should protect against sniper rifles or rifles at close range, so there's no need for concern."
"This is great. It should also guard against knives, right?" Shi Qian asked in surprise.
"Of course, unless you encounter an expert in knife skills. It can't withstand massive blows in such cases, as Bullet-Resistant Vests can't weaken gravity attacks." Luo Zheng explained, while picking up tactical goggles, bulletproof boots, desert combat uniforms, a folding entrenching tool, and other equipnt. Finally, he added, "Given you're not combat personnel, we didn't arm you with weapons."
"We're not good with those anyway, so it's not very useful. Having you two is enough." Shi Qian responded politely.
"Alright then, change into your gear carefully. I'm heading out." Luo Zheng reminded.
"Don't worry about it; no one dares to joke with life-saving gear." Shi Qian replied.
As Luo Zheng left the room, he saw Lan Xue coming out too. The two nodded knowingly and walked toward the nuclear submarine's cockpit. All soldiers aboard had been ordered not to inquire about Luo Zheng and his team's identities and missions, stopping to make way when encountered, intrigued but silent.
Soon, they arrived at the cockpit, where the captain ca forward, politely shaking hands and greeting them, "Are you comfortable so far? The orders are clear, and everything is ready. May I ask if we can set sail now?"
"We're ready to set sail, thank you." Luo Zheng replied politely.
"We're all allies here, no need for courtesy." The captain said with a smile, turning to the technical staff in the cockpit and shouting, "Brothers, prepare to dive; we're setting out!"
"Yes, sir." Everyone responded in unison, their voices full of confidence.
