"Ah!" A scream rang out, quickly followed by silence. Luo Zheng gave Ghost Hand a thumbs up, who calmly observed the surroundings through a small mirror. Pressing the mirror to the ground, he slid it towards Luo Zheng, who prepared to catch it, understanding he no longer needed to stick his head out to observe the situation.
"Bang!" A gunshot shattered the mirror. Luo Zheng was shocked and looked toward the sound but saw nothing. The fact that the mirror was hit while sliding over ant the opponent was an expert. Seeing the cautious hand signals from Ghost Hand, Luo Zheng nodded in understanding, gripping his gun tighter, took a deep breath, and sensed the source of danger.
Then, Ghost Hand suddenly lay on the ground, pressing his ear to the surface, listening intently. His expression turned grim, and he signaled Luo Zheng, who nodded and, as instructed, fired two shots towards the four o'clock position behind Ghost Hand.
At that mont, Ghost Hand leaped to the other side of the pillar, crashing onto the ground two ters away, gun in hand. He decisively pulled the trigger while rolling, "Bang bang bang!" After three shots, Ghost Hand rolled into a nearby shoe store and hid behind the display racks, continuing to fire short bursts.
"Bang bang bang!" Three more shots rang out, the bullets missing their mark. Ghost Hand quickly retracted, swapped in a new magazine, and Luo Zheng watched in amazent. Following a muffled scream, Luo Zheng understood and smiled—he was indeed the Soldier King, with outstanding experience and strength.
Luo Zheng, following suit, lay on the ground listening intently but heard nothing. Frustrated, he got up only to see Ghost Hand smiling at him. Annoyed, he raised his hand and fired a shot behind him.
"Ah!" Another scream echoed. Luo Zheng was stunned and saw Ghost Hand's face, also shocked, giving him a thumbs up. Ghost Hand signaled that an enemy had just left their cover to sneak attack and Luo Zheng had unwittingly shot them in the abdon. Luo Zheng felt a wave of emotion—lucky indeed.
In a burst of action, Ghost Hand suddenly charged out from cover—cover that was not solid enough to stop bullets and thus unsafe to linger in. He dodged, ran, leaped, and dropped to the ground, taking a series of swift and fluid actions to hide and counterattack, making it impossible for enemies to aim. Ghost Hand had moved ten ters from his original spot and fired his gun.
"Bang!" The bullet whistled away, with Ghost Hand unsure if he hit the target. Leaning against a pillar, he glanced at Luo Zheng; because of the angle, Luo Zheng could see what was behind him, including two targets hiding behind another pillar, waiting for an opportunity. Ghost Hand quickly signaled Luo Zheng.
Understanding, Luo Zheng nodded. With Ghost Hand's hand signals, he fully grasped the situation of the enemy behind him. Taking a deep breath, he charged forward, eyes locked on the enemy's hiding spot. Spotting a black dot behind a pillar, Luo Zheng didn't shoot but instead slid forward two ters in a low tackle. As one assailant turned his head to look the other way, Luo Zheng saw his chance and shot him in the back of the head.
"Bang!" The bullet viciously penetrated the back of the assailant's skull, t resistance, twisted, and turned his brain into mush, exiting the front and spraying flesh and blood. The assailant's body stiffened and slowly fell to the ground, his eyes confused, dying with his eyes wide open.
After the successful shot, Luo Zheng quickly got up, grabbed the body, and threw it towards the hiding spot of the other target, then lunged himself. Midair, Luo Zheng saw a black shadow flash from behind a pillar. The shadow fired two shots at the body, a fierce, cold smile on his lips.
"Bang!" At the pivotal mont, Luo Zheng pulled the trigger. The bullet, carrying Luo Zheng's rage, whistled through the air and, like a bolt of lightning, penetrated the target's forehead, then burst out from the back of the skull, sending a shower of blood and brains. The killer's eyes were filled with terror as he watched Luo Zheng, remaining rigid and lifeless from the mont the bullet hit his brow, with a chilling gaze that slowly turned confused and dispersed, dying with resentnt and bafflent, unwilling to close his eyes in death.
After taking down two killers, Luo Zheng did not dare to stay put. He rolled behind a column and, hearing the loud sirens from police vehicles downstairs in the mall, he breathed a sigh of relief. Turning his head, he saw Ghost Hand also leaning against the column without moving, gesturing for him to keep calm and stay put. Luo Zheng nodded in understanding.
Once the police arrived, the killers had no choice but to retreat. There weren't many escape routes: the elevators, the escalators, the fire escape stairs, or blending into the crowd. Luo Zheng vigilantly surveyed the potential escape routes, reloaded his magazine, and prepared for an interception. Having finally caught a break, and nearly being assassinated himself, how could he let these bastards get away?
"Boom!" Suddenly, a loud grenade explosion echoed from the fourth floor. Luo Zheng startled, heard the screams and saw people begin to flee in panic. He looked at Ghost Hand in surprise, watching as Ghost Hand observed the area with a grave face, his eyes filled with rage. Luo Zheng knew this was the killers' ploy to create chaos and make their escape.
"Son of a bitch." Ghost Hand suddenly roared and dashed in a particular direction. Luo Zheng turned to see that it was the location of the fire escape. The fire door was shaking—clearly, soone had run towards the third floor through there. The explosion on the third floor indicated there were more killers. Luo Zheng too beca furious. These bastards were too arrogant, turning the mall into a battlefield. How many people would die because of a single grenade explosion?
As a blade for the nation, fighting for the country, unsheathed for the people, Ghost Hand would rather die in battle than live on his knees. As a mber of National Blade, he dashed forward, heedless of his own life. Luo Zheng could no longer hesitate. He picked up the guns of the two fallen killers and roared as he also charged forward. Suddenly feeling a whooshing sensation at his back, he instinctively flung himself aside, colliding with a display shelf and tumbling to the ground.
"Bang!" A gunshot sounded. Luo Zheng turned his head and saw soone down the corridor firing at him. Apparently, they were trying to escape via the fire escape and had run straight into him. As Luo Zheng watched the shooter turn the gun barrel, he angrily rolled aside, using both hands to fire both guns simultaneously, shooting continuously at the target's position.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!" Luo Zheng fired three shots in quick succession, then took cover behind a display case. He carefully peeked out from under the case and saw a large pool of blood in the corridor, but the person was gone. Following the bloodstains, he saw that the shooter had taken cover behind a display case diagonally across from him.
"Aargh!" Luo Zheng burst out from behind the display case, aiming while firing at the spot where the shooter was hiding. He fired as he ran the short distance, and with the enemy suppressed by his gunfire, they didn't dare to show themselves. Luo Zheng, burning with fury, stepped forward and emptied the remaining bullets, the gun making a crisp empty-clicking noise three tis in a row.
Hearing the empty gun clicks, the hidden killer swiftly revealed himself, a ruthless smile on his face and a cold, rciless look in his eyes like pitiless frost, as he raised his gun to aim.
