"Da-da-da! Whoosh-whoosh-whoosh!" The guns roared to life, murderous fury bursting forth and soaring into the sky, setting off a whirl of snowflakes; I turned tail and ran. Countless bullets chased the tracer rounds, shattering the target into wreckage in an instant. A gently risen mound of snow remained unchanged, but several blood arrows shot out wildly, spattering over the snowflakes, instantly turning them into eerily beautiful, yet terrifying blood flowers.
"There really are people." Luo Zheng breathed a sigh of relief, vigilantly scanning other areas. The cold wind howled, snowflakes danced, the world was a vast expanse of whiteness, no one could be seen, but a heavy scent of blood and the will to kill lurked in the calm, as though it was ready to lt this frozen world, chilling to the bone.
With the high ground and rugged rocks for cover, we finally took out several of the enemy, but Luo Zheng was well aware that their strength remained intact, not fundantally hurt. They were dispersed across the snowfield ahead, impossible to track, ready to reveal their lethal claws like the Death God at any mont; I absolutely could not be careless.
The icy cold seed to drop even further, cold air pouring into my trachea, as though intent on freezing my very soul. Luo Zheng moved his numb body, trying to keep his blood flow smooth, his vigilant gaze continuing to survey ahead, searching every inch of land. The enemy had approached silently within three hundred ters. Possibly, there could be individuals who had infiltrated even closer. In the face of life and death, there was no room for carelessness.
"What is that?" Shan Hu suddenly exclaid in surprise.
Luo Zheng glanced at Shan Hu and, puzzled, followed his gaze up to the sky; soti amidst the swirling snowflakes, a model airplane had appeared, slicing through the snow towards the slope where we were hiding. I was taken aback and heard Shan Hu suddenly shout, "Not good, it's a remote-controlled bomb carried by a model airplane."
"A remote-controlled bomb carried by a model airplane? What is that?" Luo Zheng was shocked, and before he could even ask, he saw the model airplane surge over. The thought of bombs chilled him to the core, and he hurriedly looked for a place to take cover.
"Boom!" A loud explosion erupted, the red light shattered the surroundings, a powerful blast wave roared with a force that could destroy everything, it was terrifying to the extre. Luo Zheng pressed his back against a large rock, curling his body as much as possible, feeling the huge wave of heat whistle past, instantly lting the nearby snowflakes.
"What a terrifying bomb, what is this thod?" Luo Zheng was startled, grateful for the protection of the rugged hillside and its massive, irregular rocks that blocked the blast. If it had been on flat ground, I would have been killed by the shock.
The shockwave passed quickly, and the surroundings were once again dominated by the icy cold world, returning to its initial frigid state. The lted snow on the rocks froze again, as though nothing had happened. In the face of nature, everything seed insignificant and powerless. Luo Zheng called out, "Is everyone okay? What was that so powerful?"
"We're okay." Shan Hu and ng Zhu responded, with Shan Hu moving to a new hiding spot and explaining, "They used a model airplane to carry TNT explosives, controlled by electronic remote to fly and detonate. Good thing this thing is single-use; we had these rocks for cover, otherwise, we'd be goners."
"That's quite interesting, indeed very powerful," Luo Zheng sowhat admiringly agreed. Model airplanes were easy to make, low-cost, and easy to carry. Such an attack weapon was indeed a boon for special operations, able to effectively launch precision strikes. Thinking of my brothers, he quickly shouted, "Shan Hu, quick, notify the others to stay alert. We have the cover of these large rocks; they may not. Tell them we're okay and to keep their heads down."
"Understood." Shan Hu acknowledged and went to contact everyone through his earpiece.
The enemy's use of model airplanes with remote-controlled bombs for attacks didn't an ground assaults had stopped. Luo Zheng dared not let his guard down and continued to search. Before long, another model airplane approached at high speed. It was too fast to shoot down; the only option was to dodge. Annoyed, Luo Zheng ducked under a huge rock.
"Boom!" Another massive explosion sounded, the earth shook and rocks tumbled down. Luo Zheng, sheltering under a boulder, could feel even the solid stone loosening, as if it might collapse at any mont, which startled him. He quickly braced the boulder with his hands, but, fortunately, the explosion was brief, and Luo Zheng leaped forward with all his might.
"Rumble!" The boulder collapsed, hitting the ground and rolling a couple of tis before being stopped by other surrounding stones. Luo Zheng was inwardly shocked, and upon looking around, he saw that many of the rocks had been loosened by the blast, which was even more violent than the last. Spotting a rock that had been lifted into the air from the previous explosion, Luo Zheng quickly ran over to it.
It was highly unlikely for the sa location to be bombed twice, and the best way to dodge artillery on the battlefield was to hide inside a shell crater. The model aircraft was akin to artillery fire, so Luo Zheng quickly crawled under the suspended rock for cover, set up his gun, and watched ahead vigilantly while shouting, "Is everyone okay?"
"We're fine," Shan Hu and ng Zhu replied.
At that mont, Luo Zheng heard a sound from his mobile phone in his pocket. He was startled and quickly pulled it out. There was no number displayed; after thinking for a mont, he answered and held it to his ear. It wasn't safe to speak when friend or foe was unclear, but then he heard Captain Wu's anxious voice, "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine," Luo Zheng replied in surprise and asked, "The extraction plane isn't coming, is it?"
"Two things, Lan Xue got in touch, she knows you're safe and is relieved. She asked to tell you that she's found so lead on the Wolf King, and the situation is complicated. She won't be coming back for now, but she's not acting recklessly; you don't need to worry," Captain Wu said quickly, his tone sowhat grave.
Luo Zheng felt that sothing was amiss, but upon hearing Lan Xue was alright, he breathed a sigh of relief. As long as Lan Xue wasn't acting recklessly, and with the help of Ghost Hand and the others, he believed there wasn't a need to worry about her safety. He then asked, "What's the second thing?"
"Satellite surveillance indicates that a large group of ard forces is moving in your direction. Intelligence analysis suggests it's the Arctic Bear Country's troops. I've been in contact with the Commander of the Northwest Group Army. It's about that docunt; the Arctic Bear Country is determined to have it. Your mission is to ensure the docunt doesn't get lost. If it's impossible to protect it, burn the docunt. It must not fall into enemy hands," Captain Wu stated gravely.
"How many are coming?" asked Luo Zheng in shock. He hurriedly asked, "Can't our helicopters get here soon? As soon as the helicopter arrives, we can be evacuated."
"They can't make it," said Captain Wu, his voice heavy. "Two helicopters were on their way, but they encountered ard helicopters from the Arctic Bear en route. With the Arctic Bear's ground Special Forces coordination, our helicopters were shot down."
"What?" Luo Zheng exclaid in horror.
"Don't worry, the Northwest Group Army has already dispatched several Special Forces teams to support you, and they will arrive soon. Are you facing any difficulties?" Captain Wu asked seriously.
