"Have you noticed sothing?" Luo Zheng said after a mont of thoughtful contemplation. As he saw everyone's gaze drawn to him, he continued, "The sniper shot and blew up Black Man's arm, but didn't kill him. Why? With his gun skills, he could have easily killed his opponent. His calm deanor and patient temperant don't suggest a sadistic habit, so there must be an ulterior motive."

"You an?" Lan Xue asked in surprise.

"I an it was deliberate. The goal, well, was probably to slow down Sam Country's retreat. After all, they have vehicles, and the ambushers don't. With a wounded man in the car, they can't keep running at full speed. They should be looking for a place to hide and treat the wound. It was because Black Man continued to fire that his other arm was blown up," Luo Zheng analyzed seriously.

"Are you saying that the ambushers will keep on chasing them relentlessly?" Ghost Hand asked in astonishnt. Being a Soldier King, nobody was a fool; the suggestion was imdiately understood, and everyone looked at Luo Zheng in amazent.

"Don't look at like that; it's just a guess. Since the competing teams pursued the Wolf King, why couldn't the Wolf King send soldiers to hunt us down one by one? Eliminating Sam Country's team would greatly improve the situation, at least it's very advantageous for the Wolf King. Considering the troops the Wolf King has sent, they must know that many other teams will rally around Sam Country's team. Otherwise, there's no need to send so many n. If I'm not wrong, these people will continue the pursuit," Luo Zheng said, his gaze firm and his face brimming with confidence.

"Are you thinking of following them to reap the benefits?" Lan Xue knew Luo Zheng all too well and imdiately asked.

"Yes," Luo Zheng admitted frankly. Seeing everyone a bit puzzled, he explained, "There are two reasons. First, to avenge our brother Boozer. In the last competition, our base's brothers got screwed over by a joint Sam and Japan alliance, and we must repay that debt. Second, Sam Country won't let it go easily; they'll gather more people to cooperate, and if the battle reaches a stalemate, the Wolf King might co out personally, giving us our chance."

"Makes sense. With the battle like this, the Wolf King definitely isn't in the headquarters. Attacking the headquarters directly would be suicide. Better to hang behind Sam Country and pick up what's left. It won't interfere with our plans," Ghost Hand approved.

The others agreed, and Luo Zheng looked at Lan Xue. After pondering for a mont, she said, "Okay, let's go with your plan. But now's not the right ti to strike. There might still be others lurking around. It's best to be cautious. Since we're following, we won't be short of ti. Let's wait until tonight."

"Agreed," Luo Zheng responded contentedly, lying down to continue resting. He picked a grass root to chew on and said with a face full of ease, "In this battle, we're just spectators. Once the show is over, we'll take the stage, and the opportunity might just be huge."

"Cut the crap. Look, what's that?" Lan Xue asked in a soft, surprised voice.

Everyone crawled forward and raised their sniper scopes to observe. They imdiately spotted a small squad on the previously concealed hillock, vigilantly scanning the surroundings. After assuring no one was around, they rushed down and left. Luo Zheng adjusted the focus of his scope quickly in surprise, but unfortunately, he couldn't see a face, just a retreating figure, tall and sturdy, belonging to an unknown competing team.

"Well, this team is also watching from the sidelines, taking the chance to gauge the troops' combat strength. Interesting. It looks like there might be other squads hidden in the nearby bushes, enjoying a free observation and learning. The Wolf King might have tough tis ahead. After everyone becos more skilled, they won't be easily fooled," Ghost Hand observed in surprise.

"Regardless, distribute the food we seized from the baldies to everyone. Let's all eat and drink our fill before we talk," Luo Zheng said.

Ghost Hand distributed the seized food among the team, and Mountain Eagle threw the venomous snake into the grass. It wasn't a good ti to make a fire, it was too hot, and the snake was already starting to stink. It was of no use to keep it and only served as a burden.

A few minutes later, everyone had their fill of food and drink, but no one moved, continuing to stay concealed. After about half an hour, Mountain Eagle, responsible for observation, said in surprise, "Good thing we didn't make a move, just as I guessed, there are other teams like us. Do you see?"

To everyone's surprise, they raised their sniper scopes and indeed spotted another team within their field of vision, heading in the direction of Sam Country's retreat, though at a distance. Luo Zheng chuckled, "Looks like others have the sa idea as us, quite interesting. Let's get going, we should also make a move and circle around from the other side, who knows if there are more people around."

Everyone agreed wholeheartedly, packing up and continuing on their journey with Luo Zheng leading the way. He cautiously used a stick to knock against the bushes as they moved forward, just to be safe. As dusk approached and the temperature cooled, various venomous snakes would beco active, so Luo Zheng walked slowly and carefully to avoid any mishaps.

An hour later, as the sky grew dim, they spotted a group of gazelles suddenly erging by the riverbank, looking around cautiously, occasionally bending down to take a few quick sips of water. Behind them were several hyenas, wandering aimlessly but upon closer inspection, it was clear that they had set their sights on a young gazelle.

In the savanna where the law of the jungle prevailed, the team paid no attention and continued away from the riverbank. The riverbank was especially dangerous at this ti since many predators would be out to hunt. To avoid any potential danger, Luo Zheng chose to steer clear, and they ca upon a slope. The ground at the higher elevation, about ten ters up, was exposed, its reddish-brown soil suffering from severe desertification, making it unsuitable for concealnt.

Luo Zheng thought for a mont and pointed at the hillside, "The people from Sam Country should be nearby. Be extra careful, that open hillside doesn't make a good hiding spot, but it offers a good vantage point. What do you think of heading up there instead?"

"I'll scout ahead," Mountain Eagle said, and he hurried off seeing no objections from the group.

The rest squatted down to wait. About ten minutes later, Mountain Eagle returned with a grave expression, announcing, "It's not good, the place is already occupied by Sam Country's people, and they seem to have a considerable number with them. There seem to be quite a few ambushes around as well."

"Hiss?" Everyone's expression changed, and they all turned to look at Luo Zheng. After pondering for a mont, Luo Zheng's brows furrowed and he urgently said, "This is bad, we need to withdraw quickly. We can't stay here in this place of strife."

"Da-da-da!" Just as Luo Zheng's words ended, a barrage of gunfire erupted from a distance. There was no ti to retreat. Surprised, everyone peeked out and saw countless people assaulting the hillside, seemingly around two hundred strong, with ferocious firepower and deployed forces, clearly well-prepared.

"What do we do?" Lan Xue asked, looking at Luo Zheng.

Luo Zheng turned back to look, and although there was no one to be seen, it wasn't safe to assu, so he quickly said, "Stay hidden, don't move. There's a good chance we're surrounded too. Watch out for the sniper."

"Everyone spread out, keep your distance, but don't go too far. Be careful," Lan Xue ordered in a low voice, looking towards Luo Zheng with concern. Seeing his firm nod, Lan Xue swiftly and cautiously moved to one side, using the bushes as cover, and soon disappeared from view.
