After returning to the hotel from Mr. Li's place, Luo Zheng was unable to sleep all night. Renewed by Mr. Li's commitnt, Luo Zheng filled with confidence and hope about the future with Lan Xue. The next morning, after everyone had undergone a reassessnt by Wu Miao, Ghost Hand suggested they go shopping. Luo Zheng was about to refuse but was dragged away by Lan Xue before he could, saying there was sothing they needed to do. Seeing this, everyone understood, smiled knowingly, and dispersed without further questions, leaving only Wu Miao with a bitter expression on his face.
When they reached the hotel entrance, they caught a taxi. Lan Xue gave an address and turned to Luo Zheng, explaining, "Accompany shopping, and also, this is your bonus. Keep this card safe, as all your money will be deposited into this account from now on. We'll cancel the old allowance card. Later, let's buy so gifts to take ho, shall we?"
"Sure, you always think of everything," Luo Zheng said as he took the bank card, offering his praise.
The taxi soon arrived at the comrcial center. Entering a large departnt store, Luo Zheng was dazzled by the array of products and unsure of what to buy. Lan Xue naturally took his arm and led him toward a jewelry store. Luo Zheng stiffened, especially when he felt Lan Xue's soft body against him, and his blood started racing.
"Don't get any wild ideas, move it," Lan Xue said as if sensing Luo Zheng's reaction, pinching the soft flesh under his arm harshly while pretending to be fierce.
"Ouch?" Luo Zheng winced from the pain, instantly dispersing his fanciful thoughts, and smiled wryly as they continued walking to the section of the store selling bracelets.
As Luo Zheng looked around, he noticed the rchandise was indeed nice. When he glanced at the price tags, each cost more than ten thousand, and he couldn't help but gulp. This stuff was way too expensive! Seeing an eager employee heading toward them, Luo Zheng felt awkward and was about to leave when Lan Xue pointed at a jadeite bracelet and said, "Let see that one."
"Certainly," the clerk responded softly, taking out the bracelet.
Luo Zheng glimpsed at the price tag and gulped. Thirty thousand? His face soured. That was way too expensive. Just as he was about to object, Lan Xue said, "Alright, wrap it up and charge it."
"Certainly." The employee, seeing Lan Xue was buying, brightened up and hurried to complete the transaction.
Once the employee stepped aside, Luo Zheng whispered, "Xue Er, this thing, I—"
"I'm visiting your house for the first ti, I should bring sothing, right? Don't you want to visit?" Lan Xue interrupted, her face breaking into a light smile.
"?" Luo Zheng felt warmth in his heart and said gratefully, "Of course, but it's just too expensive."
"It's fine, it's just a small token from . By the way, what does your dad like?" Lan Xue asked.
"He likes to smoke," Luo Zheng replied appreciatively.
"It's inappropriate to buy cigarettes; let's go for a lighter." Observing around, Lan Xue quickly spotted a Zippo specialty store and made up her mind. Luo Zheng followed her gaze to see only lighters and heard Lan Xue say softly, "You go take a look first; I'll be right there."
Luo Zheng agreed and walked over. After a few steps, he realized that Lan Xue had set this up intentionally to spare him the embarrassnt of paying. With such a woman by his side, what more could he ask for? Luo Zheng smiled gratefully, silently vowing never to let Lan Xue down in this lifeti.
Upon reaching the Zippo store, he saw that each model was expensive. Luo Zheng turned to leave just as Lan Xue ca in, naturally taking his hand and asking, "See anything you like? How about this silver one?" picking up the most expensive model in the store.
Lan Xue looked at it and said, "I think it's nice. What do you think?"
"It's okay, just too expensive," Luo Zheng said dejectedly, feeling for the first ti that being a man without money was truly shaful.
"Waiter, we'll take this one," Lan Xue told the approaching waiter.
Luo Zheng fell silent awkwardly, watching Lan Xue swipe her card to make the purchase. As they walked out of the boutique, Lan Xue saw the displeasure on Luo Zheng's face and, knowing the reason, chuckled lightly, "Silly, money is an external matter. My money has nowhere else to go anyway. It's right to honor the elderly with it. If it's spent, it's spent. Besides, don't you plan to provide for in the future?"
"Of course, I'll provide for you, even in the next life," Luo Zheng stopped in his tracks and said earnestly.
"Silly," Lan Xue rolled her eyes playfully, feeling sweet inside. She hooked her arm through Luo Zheng's, leaning closer. They headed towards the clothing store where Lan Xue bought two outfits for Luo Zheng. After all, how could they go ho without looking good?
They also picked up a few other items before finally going up to a restaurant on the fifth floor for a al. Luo Zheng watched as Lan Xue ripped off the price tags from a bracelet and a lighter she had bought, puzzled at first but quickly realizing Lan Xue didn't want his parents to know the cost to avoid any embarrassnt. He felt a warmth in his heart and smiled gratefully; she was so thoughtful and considerate, such a wonderful woman. He couldn't help saying, "Xue Er, thank you."
"How will you thank ?" Lan Xue asked with a light laugh.
"I don't know. It seems like whatever I do, I can't fully express my gratitude," Luo Zheng said seriously, his expression turning troubled.
Lan Xue understood Luo Zheng and knew that he wasn't just trying to make her feel good. She smiled knowingly and said, "You know, shouldn't we be beyond these formalities between us?"
"Benefactor, is that really you?" An excited voice ca from the side, and a beautiful figure hurried over, sitting down on the chair next to them, beaming at Luo Zheng.
Luo Zheng looked at her in surprise. Her serene face was full of smiles, and her hair flowed naturally down her shoulders. Dressed in a white dress with an elegant deanor, she looked sowhat familiar, yet he couldn't recall who she was. He frowned slightly and turned to Lan Xue, asking in astonishnt, "Xue Er, who is this? Do you know her?"
"What do you think?" Lan Xue glanced at the woman and counter-questioned.
"She looks familiar, but I don't recognize her," Luo Zheng said with a definite shake of his head.
"Pfft," Lan Xue couldn't help but laugh, her eyes filled with fondness for Luo Zheng. She then turned her head towards the woman and spoke indifferently, "I told you, he doesn't recognize you. Could you have mistaken him for soone else?"
"Lan Xue, don't be so proud," the woman glared at Lan Xue unhappily and then turned back to Luo Zheng with a gentle smile. "Take another good look. Do you really not rember who I am?" she asked softly.
"Is it important?" Luo Zheng countered.
"Very important," the woman nodded earnestly.
"I don't know you," Luo Zheng scrutinized her with a clear, calm gaze and answered seriously. Seeing that she wanted to say more, his expression darkened, and he said impatiently, "Haven't you had enough? Can't you see we're eating? Stop bothering us, or I'll call security."
"Let's go, beauty; you must have the wrong person," Lan Xue could tell that Luo Zheng genuinely couldn't rember who the woman was. Clearly, he wasn't concerned about her, which greatly relieved Lan Xue. She smiled mischievously in amusent.
