"What's there to be afraid of? This is our country, and I'm a soldier, aren't I? Besides, the surveillance room is sealed. Those things flying around can't get in; they can't bomb us here. What's there to fear?" Lan Xing said discontentedly.
"Makes sense, this is our country, and now, soone's treating it like a battlefield. As a soldier, it's my inescapable duty," Luo Zheng looked at Zheng Duo, saw he had regained his composure with an ashen face, and breathed a sigh of relief. He then instructed, "Notify the guards not to focus only on hiding. Be wary of sneak attacks. All the monitors have been blown up; we're blind and can't see what's happening. We can only rely on everyone now."
"Understood." Zheng Duo hastily made contact with the guards and conveyed the orders.
"Such ruthless tactics," Luo Zheng said coldly, feeling inwardly alard. It was fortunate that they had accidentally discovered soone digging a tunnel; otherwise, amid such a potent attack, with everyone's attention on the ground, the underground computer room could have been easily ambushed. Listening to the continuous explosions outside, Luo Zheng clenched his steel teeth with anger and said coldly, "Captain Zheng, you two stay here. I'm going out to have a look."
"Be careful," Lan Xing, knowing he was non-combat personnel and that him going out would only add to the chaos, quickly urged.
Since the surveillance room could no longer monitor, staying behind was pointless. Zheng Duo guessed that Luo Zheng wanted him to protect Lan Xing. He glanced at Lan Xue calmly and then looked at Luo Zheng, saying earnestly, "Don't worry, be careful yourself."
Luo Zheng ca to the door, saw Zheng Duo had understood his intentions, smiled reassuredly, then opened the door and went out. He inserted his long knife into its sheath on his back, drew his 92-type pistol, chambered a round, and rushed to the lobby. He saw that the glass doors had been shattered, the glass fragnts scattered everywhere, and the ground blasted apart. His tiger-like eyes narrowed as he spotted another fake model airplane carrying explosives, which could maneuver and head straight for the elevator below.
"Boom!" A massive explosion erupted; the blast-resistant elevator was blown out of shape. Luo Zheng, watching from around the corner, turned pale at the sight and imdiately realized the enemy intended to use inexpensive model planes carrying explosives to clear the way, forcibly breaking through passageways with firepower. Enraged, he transmitted over the headset, "Mountain Eagle, can you spot where the model planes are coming from?"
"There are three possible locations, but I can't determine the exact positions; they're hidden by the high buildings," replied Mountain Eagle from the rooftop.
"Are you alright?" Luo Zheng asked with concern.
"The rooftop has been attacked, but everyone's safe, don't worry," Mountain Eagle answered calmly.
"Looking at it now, the enemy's tactical arrangent is very determined. Ground-controlled model planes carrying explosives to create chaos, hoping to blast a path through. If they can't open up a way, they can still cause harassnt and attract our attention as a cover for their tunnel attack. Therefore, you must continue to lie in wait on the rooftop, ready to monitor any possible approaching enemies," Luo Zheng said coldly, seeing another model plane approaching, his face turned ashen and his steel teeth clenched.
The model planes, flying unpredictably in the dark night, were difficult to snipe and stop; Luo Zheng could only watch helplessly as the enemy continued their destruction, which made him feel extrely frustrated. He shouted through the headset, "Zheng Duo, have the long-range attacks upstairs weakened? Tell everyone to hold their positions at the windows and show no rcy to anyone attempting to infiltrate."
"Understood," Zheng Duo quickly agreed.
With the surveillance gone, everyone was blind, and Luo Zheng could only send up the guarding personnel. Although this move would expose the guards and put them in mortal peril, the sacrifice had to be made for the mission. After Luo Zheng gave his command, a cold fury danced in his eyes like a volcano on the verge of eruption, a killing intent soaring to the heavens.
"Boom!" Another loud explosion rang out. The elevator doors were blasted open and the cables snapped, plumting down to the basent floor, leaving the elevator shaft exposed. Luo Zheng was shocked to see the surrounding power outage, the obvious darkness indicating that the enemy had sabotaged the power grid, a sign that the all-out attack was imminent.
"Captain Zheng, prepare for battle," Luo Zheng ordered coldly.
"Understood," Zheng Duo responded.
After receiving the order, all the guards aid their guns outwards, targeting the pitch-black night, standing ready in solemn vigilance. As soldiers and Ard Police, none could tolerate the enemy's relentless bombardnt. It was a disgrace, a disgrace that could only be cleansed with the enemy's blood. Everyone stood tense and on high alert, waiting for the opportune mont to strike.
Luo Zheng went to the entrance of the lobby, warily watching outside. There were street lights at the entrance of the Military Research Institute, barely revealing the swift entrance of three dark figures. There was no movent from the guard post at the gate, likely aning the sentry had been murdered.
"Da da da!" The guards spotted the rushing Black Shadows and opened fire.
Luo Zheng was about to shoot when he suddenly saw the three figures sprinting like cheetahs, each wielding two handguns firing almost simultaneously, rapidly shooting at exposed firing points of the office building to suppress return fire. Luo Zheng was astounded by their quick firing rate and incredible precision.
In the blink of an eye, these individuals had emptied the bullets from their pistols. Luo Zheng watched, horrified, as all three simultaneously tossed their handguns forward into the Void, the emptied magazines falling out. As they continued running, their hands moved like lightning to their waist holsters, drawing fresh magazines, one in each hand.
At that mont, as the handguns were falling, these individuals reloaded with a swift motion, gripped the pistols firmly, and resud shooting. Luo Zheng was amazed by the dizzyingly fast sequence, the deftness of their reloading technique, and their deadly accuracy.
"Masters," Luo Zheng remarked upon seeing the three figures, who were unhard despite the barrage from dozens of attackers. He turned and ran, blending into a corner, his back against the wall, and adjusted his Breathing Skill to prepare.
It wasn't long before the three n charged into the lobby. Finding it deserted, they ford a triangle defensive formation, back to back, holding their position for three seconds. One of them rushed to the elevator shaft without hesitation and leaped down, while the remaining two, backs together and ard with two guns each, covered all possible angles.
Luo Zheng, with his back against the wall, used the family's Breathing Skill to steady himself. Faced with masters, his fighting spirit surged. He held his breath, ears pricked, and heard a thud which told him soone had jumped down the elevator shaft. To enter the basent, one had to pass through an explosion-proof door. The basent was equipped with an independent power supply, and the explosion-proof door was not easy to break through.
At this mont, Lan Xue's whisper ca through the headset. She said that Shi Feng had taken people to the tunneling team, where they found only two individuals. The tunnel had just been breached, and amidst the pincer attack, the infiltrator had been killed. She asked Luo Zheng about the situation outside. Luo Zheng was taken aback, and it all clicked. The enemy's calculation was ticulous: while the attack outside garnered attention, they attempted a sneak attack through the tunnel. If the tunneling had succeeded, the attackers outside could break in once the internal defense systems were compromised.
