Traveling throughout the night and launching a surprise attack on the base was a matter of life and death; everyone was completely exhausted. After putting on their clothes and applying dicine to their feet, they each found a place to sleep. Walking barefoot in the primitive forest was certainly no easy task, and by the ti everyone woke up, it was already night. Luo Zheng slled the aroma of roasted at and his stomach began to growl. He quickly got up and saw several tribespeople grilling a wild boar that was already cooked.

When the middle-aged man saw Luo Zheng wake up, he cut off a large piece of at and brought it over to him. Luo Zheng, unceremoniously, took it and started eating. The others woke up one after another, and with no pretense, Lan Xue sat down next to Luo Zheng and said in a low voice with a worried expression, "This rain has been pouring down all day, and it doesn't look like it has any intention of stopping."

The deadline was drawing ever closer, and if they didn't complete the mission within the specified ti, the situation would be very serious. Luo Zheng estimated the ti and said softly, "We've been on the move for almost a week now, right? And three days on the nuclear submarine."

"Yeah, not much ti left," Lan Xue agreed with concern.

"According to the data, the poison must not leave the lab for over a week, which ans that the Japanese invaders will transport the poison a week before acting. Deducting the ti we've spent, we have less than two weeks left. I don't know how long this rain will last, if it's just rain it's still okay, we can fight, but lightning will be troubleso," Luo Zheng said with worry, recalling the sight of the Japanese struck by lightning the previous night, their charred bodies were terrifying to behold.

"That's what I'm worried about too," Lan Xue whispered.

With a loud boom, thunder crashed, and Luo Zheng looked out of the cave with a calm expression. The rain outside was torrential, with no sign of stopping. A sizzling crack of spider lightning lit up the earth, the intense electrical energy and dazzling light were frightening. Into the cave ca a shadow, a native holding several branches.

The other natives stepped forward to help, breaking the branches into small pieces to dry by the fire. They would later serve as firewood. Watching this scene, Luo Zheng felt sowhat relieved; with these natives familiar with the environnt, they had no worries regarding daily life. Waking up to cooked at brought a smile to his face as he said, "Don't worry, we'll find a way. Did they catch this wild boar?"

"Mhmm, it seems they trapped it with a pitfall," Lan Xue whispered back.

"These natives may be less civilized than us, but their survival skills in this primitive forest are not lacking. With proper guidance, they could be a great asset to us. It's just a matter of whether we can tap into that. During last night's mission, I found that these fellows are stronger than us at night, able to see things we cannot, and they managed to find their way back in the torrential rain without error, sothing we couldn't do. Moreover, they can kill enemies with wooden bows and arrows, which is incredibly impressive," Luo Zheng remarked with a sense of admiration.

"I've noticed that too. Their arrows are sared with Poison Liquid; I'm not sure what kind. As for the vision and finding their way back that you ntioned, I'm also puzzled," Lan Xue whispered back and glanced at Ghost Hand and the others eating, then continued, "We shouldn't act tonight. Everyone seems a bit weakened; I think it's due to exposure last night. It would be troubleso if anyone got a fever."

"That's best," Luo Zheng agreed, feeling a bit weak himself, probably due to the chill. Getting wet again might lead to a fever. He quickly finished the at, drank so water, and saw the middle-aged man with a hesitant expression, unable to communicate. With no other option, Luo Zheng gave a sheepish smile and went back to sleep.

The weather was inclent, but Luo Zheng wasn't worried that the Japanese pirates would find their way up, unless they possessed indigenous skills like the locals. Even so, it would be pointless for the pirates to get there without weapons, so he slept soundly. Waking up for his turn at night watch, he saw Ghost Hand and Mountain Eagle making arrows from hardwood. With no drowsiness, he joined in to help.

Spotting a larger piece of mulberry wood, Luo Zheng's eyes brightened. Picking it up, he examined it for a mont and then took out his Tiger Teeth knife to whittle it. The military blade danced swiftly, and not long after, he had stripped the bark and shaped it into a bow. Ghost Hand chuckled, "Ghost, that's pretty good. Is this skill also passed down from your ancestors?"

"Mmm, it's the technique of hunting, sothing I've learned since I was a child. You should also use this type of wood and follow my lead. We'll need these later. Their bows are too few; it's not good for us to occupy them. We need to make one more suited to ourselves." Luo Zheng replied noncommittally, his gaze firm as he continued to busy himself.

After a while, Luo Zheng had the bow almost completely shaped. Using special rope for the string, he tightened the bow and placed it near the campfire to bake. He then took out snake tendons from his backpack and laid them near the fire to dry as well. The middle-aged man, seeing a large bundle of snake tendons, was imdiately intrigued and started babbling sothing, pointing at them. Seeing Luo Zheng's clueless expression, the man's face dimd, and he retreated with a bitter smile.

"He seed pretty excited," Lan Xue whispered.

"Mmm, people in the mountains know that snake tendons are valuable goods. Ordinary snake tendons don't take shape and can't be used. It's only the ones from snakes of a certain age and size that are suitable. The giant python we killed last ti was big enough. I just wanted to give it a try, and unexpectedly, it worked. If we had waited a few more decades, it would have been even better," Luo Zheng explained quietly.

"Wait a few more decades? Wouldn't that turn into 'essence shooting'?" Lan Xue said surprisedly.

"I don't know. It's not possible for a python that large to live where humans do. This prival forest is quite mysterious, with many species we've never seen before. There are rumors that a snake turns into a flood dragon after five hundred years and turns into a dragon after a thousand. This doesn't sound scientific, but there's no smoke without fire. Otherwise, how would humans have conceived of flood dragons and dragons at all? And why would they include the dragon among the twelve zodiacs? If such creatures didn't exist, why would they be included? If there really are dragons out there, none of us have seen them. Who can say for certain?" Luo Zheng spoke indifferently.

"We are materialists, don't talk nonsense," Lan Xue laughed dismissively.

"False or true, it doesn't matter to . My family has hunted for generations. There are legends about snake tendons, but snakes with tendons are not easy to deal with. Last ti, we'd have been out of luck without the grenade," Luo Zheng said, recalling the battle with the giant python, still feeling a chill, his eyes glancing at the snake tendons roasting by the fire.

"Do you plan to use the snake tendons for bowstrings?" Lan Xue asked, and seeing Luo Zheng nod, she continued, "I've checked them out, and they're indeed good stuff, full of resilience and elasticity. However, I saw the middle-aged man really wanted them. How many bows can you make with your snake tendons? If possible, give them so."

"Understood," Luo Zheng knew Lan Xue was trying to win over people's hearts to better complete their mission. After thinking it over, he said, "Let's see later. Three or four bows should be sufficient. We'll use them first and leave the bows to them after the mission is completed." As he was saying this, Luo Zheng suddenly heard a noise outside the cave and, startled, quickly ran to grab his gun.
