Over fifty natives launched a stealth attack, and the force was trendous. Familiar with the jungle and skilled at harnessing it for combat, they had silently infiltrated behind the enemy lines undetected. With cold indifference, they shot their arrows, quietly hunting any visible targets—swift and deadly in their actions. In no ti, twenty to thirty n had been ambushed and killed.

The attacking enemy was preoccupied with the mouth of the cliff, many concealed at the cave entrance, fiercely shooting inside. So charged in, completely oblivious to the counter-ambush behind them. Luo Zheng saw that this group of enemies was hunkered down in the forest on standby, clearly a reserve force, and without hesitation, he began a massacre. With the help of his Night Vision Device, he found each enemy one by one, and his silenced pistol kept firing without rest, reaping these evil lives.

Soon enough, the enemy beca alert, and a few turned their guns to spray bullets, howling wildly. Luo Zheng knew they had been exposed, but he didn't call for a retreat. Instead, he chose to fight it out—on narrow grounds, the brave would prevail. To retreat would an the bow-bearing natives turning their backs to the enemy, hastening their deaths.

Seeing they were exposed, Hook rely glanced at Luo Zheng and unhesitatingly chose to continue the fight. The enemy's reserve force stationed outside was only about fifty strong, the majority had already been taken down. The remaining twenty or so people were spraying bullets wildly into the surrounding forest, but the natives were all well-concealed. None were panicking, none were charging, and not even a shout was heard. They were like hungry wolves, patient, waiting, ready to loose a fatal arrow when the opportunity arose.

Luo Zheng took cover behind a large tree, relieved to see everyone coolly responding to the battle. He whispered into the headset, "Move out, let's attack the entrance and block those inside from getting out."

"Good idea," Ghost Hand and others responded, and they dashed out from cover, heading straight for the cave entrance.

While running, Luo Zheng saw soone aiming a rifle at him and shot before the enemy could. He didn't even bother to look, sprinting forward like a ghost under the moonlight, swiftly reaching near the cave entrance. He saw a dozen n turning their guns to spray bullets, and he quickly switched weapons.

"Bang, bang, bang!" The Type 95 assault rifle roared to life. Luo Zheng ran and fired, swift bursts taking down targets. Feeling the whizz of incoming bullets, he dove forward, rolled, and resud firing from a kneeling position, his expression stern, combat spirit blazing.

"Bang, bang, bang!" Ghost Hand and others also charged, like angry cheetahs, the Type 95 assault rifles levelled at their shoulders, heads slightly bowed, steely glares locking onto each exposed enemy, the guns moving relentlessly to mow them down.

"Assault formation, charge!" Lan Xue shouted coldly, leaping forward and swiftly reaching the front, like a mother panther, her gun firing ceaselessly; what should have been single shots turned into automatic fire—a testant to her skill. Luo Zheng caught a glimpse of Lan Xue, his blood thoroughly ignited, roaring as he charged onward.

The dozen enemies, under the fierce assault of Lan Xue and others, were quickly killed. The group made it to the cliff top and saw people erging from the cave entrance, clad in clothes. Without hesitation, they opened fire and killed them. The natives were bare-bodied; only their own side and the hired guns wore clothes, so there was no risk of friendly fire.

"Ghost Hand, you hold the entrance. Everyone else, follow to kill!" Lan Xue's voice was icy, and understanding the command, they all turned their guns and dashed into the dense forest. As they charged, they swapped their Type 95 assault rifles for silenced pistols and stord into the thickets. Luo Zheng saw a figure spraying bullets into the forest at random, and with a single shot, the enemy was silenced.

With the help of the Night Vision Device, the surroundings of the forest were clear. Everyone standing back to back, ford a defensive circle, watched the front coldly, not missing any detail, and slowly advanced. Luo Zheng spotted a man suddenly bursting out of the forest, barely seven or eight ters away, about to open fire, and without hesitation, he shot first.

"Thump!" The bullet pitilessly struck, hitting right between the eyes—a headshot.

"The enemy is cunning, and has gone into hiding," Luo Zheng reminded.

"Pop pop pop!" Lan Xue and the others also opened fire, swiftly shooting down the charging enemies.

Under the moonlight, the four of them took positions in all directions, like gods of slaughter. No matter from which angle the enemy attempted a sneak attack, they acted first and hunted them down. In the midst of their movent, suddenly, four or five people howled and charged over. Luo Zheng quickly fired his gun, blowing the head off the enemy in the lead with one shot. Just as he was about to fire a second shot, he noticed that these people staggered and fell backward, lifeless.

"Huh?" Luo Zheng was startled but soon saw Hook slowly approaching, followed by several people who, one by one, held bows with arrows notched, moving slowly and cautiously, barefoot, with impassive expressions. Under the moonlight, they resembled battle elves—proud, resolute, and fearless.

Soon, more indigenous people erged from the woods. The battle was over. Luo Zheng didn't dare to be careless and imdiately had Hook co closer, instructing, "We've already taken the cave entrance. Have your people clear the battlefield, watch out for any that slipped through the net, and collect their weapons. Alive or dead, give them a shot."

"My brothers aren't very adept with guns," Hook said awkwardly.

"Huh?" Luo Zheng said awkwardly, "You guys figure it out."

"Don't worry, we know what to do," Hook assured, then turned to give orders to his people.

Luo Zheng and his team quickly moved to the cave entrance. Ghost Hand was still guarding it, continuously shooting inside while the enemy returned fire. The battle was fierce. Everyone charged up, switched their Type 95 assault rifles to burst fire, and unleashed a sweeping barrage into the cave, suppressing the enemy fire from within.

Soon, there was no more sound from inside the cave. Everyone was on high alert. The indigenous people inside had no guns but were prepared with bows and arrows. Hiding and shooting from cover, and with the narrow cave entrance, the hired guns who entered the cave were not gaining any advantage. Defending the entrance, those who entered were like rats in a bellows, trapped with no way out.

After waiting a while with no movent from inside the cave, Hook ca hurrying over, just about to inquire about the situation when soone inside shouted gibberish. Everyone looked to Hook, whose face darkened as he explained, "They are asking to surrender."

"What do you think?" Luo Zheng asked in return.

"We can't accept. They've killed our people. According to our rules, these n must die," Hook said without hesitation.

Luo Zheng hadn't expected these indigenous people to be so stubborn. No wonder they fought against the Japanese pirates for thirty years without surrendering. They truly had spirit. He thought for a mont and then said, "Let them co out, and after they lay down their weapons, you can deal with them."

"That would be deceit. We won't do that. Leave the rest to us," Hook refused without hesitation. Luo Zheng was taken aback and began to smile wryly. Soldiers would use any ans necessary to accomplish their missions, so Luo Zheng didn't mind trickery—'all is fair in war.' He hadn't expected Hook to be so upright and gave up his spot, gesturing for Hook to handle it.
