"It's great to finally hear so encouraging news," Luo Zheng said excitedly. The mission this ti was extrely challenging, even more difficult than destroying the Japanese research base, feeling utterly clueless about how to start. He was frustrated, but this news greatly lifted his spirits.
"Yes, breaking one arm of the Song family has weakened their power a bit. However, I'm guessing the Song family will take out their revenge on us. Grandpa told to tell you not to worry. He has arranged for soone to protect us covertly and handle the situation, so you can focus on your mission," Lan Xue explained.
"Good, thank him for ," Luo Zheng said gratefully.
"The best thanks would be to complete the mission. I know Grandpa," Lan Xue said with a smile.
The two chatted casually in the room for a while. As it grew dark, suddenly, Mountain Eagle called and reported seeing a convoy of vehicles heading towards the Fushan military area, looking like military vehicles, unsure if they were transporting people or supplies, and asked if they should go up to check.
After thinking about it, Luo Zheng told Mountain Eagle to go check it out, with Ghost Hand covering him and Snow Leopard staying behind at the rental house, keeping at a distance, just the headlights were sufficient. He himself would be on his way soon. After hanging up, both grabbed so simple gear and got a vehicle from the embassy secretary and drove over there, familiarizing themselves with the route.
An hour later, they drove up to the village entrance. The village had many tourists milling around, not noticing their two cars. Luo Zheng saw Snow Leopard nonchalantly point towards a parking area and parked there. The two alighted from the car, and Lan Xue naturally took Luo Zheng's arm, pretending to be a couple as they followed Snow Leopard, walking one behind the other towards a front area.
The trio discreetly reached a rental cottage, a standalone villa with a courtyard wall, guarded by a large iron gate. Everyone entered the courtyard, and Luo Zheng glanced at the three-story villa and the over two ters high surrounding wall, Fushan looming behind them, couldn't help but laugh, saying, "Nice place."
"Decent, let's go to the roof," Snow Leopard said.
The three went up to the roof, where Snow Leopard passed a pair of binoculars to Luo Zheng, pointing towards the forest and saying, "Mountain Eagle has gone over, Ghost Hand is covering in the woods, haven't heard anything back yet, not sure what's going on."
"Don't worry, with Mountain Eagle's stealth skills and Ghost Hand's vigilance, it's just a covert surveillance; they won't be discovered. They might have run into so trouble and couldn't break away for the mont," Luo Zheng said as he took the binoculars and started observing. He soon realized the binoculars were infrared with a high magnification, which allowed a clear view from a distance, and he couldn't help but smile.
After watching for a while, the dense forest ahead was utterly silent, except for the slight sway of trees in the breeze, everything else was still. The only road entering the military area was also silent, not a sound, prompting him to urgently ask, "Tell what you've found?"
"Ten trucks, covered with tarps, can't see what's inside, and the tires don't show signs of being squashed, indicating the cargo isn't heavy. The drivers are in regular garb but have a stern expression, steadfast gaze, not looking around, sitting upright, likely to be soldiers," Snow Leopard hurriedly explained.
"Is that all?" Lan Xue asked softly.
"Yeah, that's all, all the trucks are exactly the sa." Snow Leopard added.
While they spoke, Lan Xue's phone rang. She picked it up to see that it was Shadow calling. She quickly answered, listened for a while, told the caller their location, and hung up, then told Luo Zheng, "Shadow went to the embassy and couldn't find us, said he is coming here soon, sounds like sothing is up."
"Let's stay here tonight," Luo Zheng said. Everyone took turns keeping watch, casually chatting, ti ticking away by the second, still no sign of Mountain Eagle and the others returning. Nobody said it, but everyone started getting anxious. Over an hour later, Snow Leopard went to the village entrance to pick up Shadow. Luo Zheng handed over the binoculars to Snow Leopard and with a glance towards Lan Xue, the three moved to the living room.
The living room was modestly furnished and sowhat ssy, but nobody minded. After settling on the sofa, Shadow's expression darkened as he seriously said, "I followed the prince for a while and found that he is protected by two Chrysanthemum Ninjas, one acting as the driver, close protection, the other lurking in the shadows, both quite skilled and not easy to deal with."
"How do they compare to you?" Luo Zheng asked curiously.
"I could handle one within five moves solo. Facing both, it'd take more than twenty moves, which is enough ti for the prince to escape by car, making success unlikely," Shadow explained.
"What about with us added?" Lan Xue asked curiously.
"You guys?" Shadow asked, surprised. Seeing Lan Xue wasn't joking, he chuckled and shook his head, not adding anything, obviously not optimistic. Seeing Luo Zheng looking seriously at him, he paused, then added, "With the five of you teaming up, maybe you could hurt them within ten moves, but at a heavy cost. Once the police arrive, no one could escape. I suggest not considering this approach."
"Hmm?" Luo Zheng paused, then brooded, considering that Shadow wouldn't speak carelessly. Recalling how he had been hurt with a single punch previously, if the enemies also possessed such strength, they indeed had no chance even united, and he said with a bitter smile, "Understood, I'll seriously think about it."
"Glad to hear that," Shadow truly worried about Luo Zheng acting rashly, relaxed slightly, then prodded, "By the way, how did you all end up here?"
Luo Zheng recounted events and discoveries during dinner and concluded, "There must be a spy in the embassy; otherwise, the enemies wouldn't have reacted so quickly. But we'll know the specifics when Mountain Eagle and the others return, which should be soon."
"No, I'll go check," Shadow said in a more serious tone, stood up, and headed outside.
"I'll co with you," Luo Zheng, feeling uneasy, promptly said.
"Should we all go?" Lan Xue suggested.
"No, too many people is inappropriate, just the two of us," Shadow said, looking at Luo Zheng.
Luo Zheng pondered for a mont, nodded, signaling Lan Xue not to worry, and followed Shadow outside. The two quickly dove into the woods, running towards the military area, and along the way, Luo Zheng noticed that Shadow was very familiar with the terrain and, more importantly, very fast. If not for considering him, he would have run ahead long ago.
A few minutes later, Luo Zheng pointed towards the woods ahead and said, "Ghost Hand is covering just up ahead."
"Sothing seems wrong," Shadow suddenly said in a low voice, looking ahead, his gentle bureaucrat deanor gone. In the moonlight, Shadow was like a sword about to be drawn, his murderous intent concealed, his gaze intense, his expression cold and stern.
