"Swoosh!" Luo Zheng saw his target stop in the bushes two ters ahead, continuing to cover his companion's advance without noticing him—a rare opportunity. He seized it, suddenly bursting forward. The nail flew from his hand, whistling through the air with a faint sonic boom, cutting a dark streak through the void and instantly burying itself in the eye socket of a ninja.

"Ah!" The ninja scread in agony, covering his eyes and falling to the ground.

"Tat-tat-tat!" Another ninja, keenly aware, quickly spotted Luo Zheng and opened fire.

After making his move, Luo Zheng had no intention of checking the results. He turned and bolted. He had barely taken three steps when he heard the secret gunshots. Not taking any chances, he dove into a tiger leap, rolled into a nearby bush, and crouched down to retreat quickly.

"Tat-tat-tat!" The relentless gunfire continued unabated, wreaking havoc all around. Luo Zheng, anticipating this response, retreated decisively, jumped out of the danger zone, and quietly crawled into a dense patch of weeds. There, he suddenly spotted a snake as thick as a thumb, grabbed it like lightning, and was about to throw it away when a sudden thought struck him. He transferred the snake to his other hand, securing it by the vital seven-inch region, freeing his hand to fetch another nail and quietly hold it, waiting patiently.

"Tat-tat-tat!" Bullets were fired indiscriminately, hitting the surroundings with a rumbling noise.

Luo Zheng knew this was a reconnaissance by fire, lay flat on the ground, and waited without moving. His pursuers didn't have much ammunition; they couldn't afford to waste it recklessly, and the gunfire soon ceased. Luo Zheng slowly peeked out, and through the bushes, he saw soone approaching—a ninja, moving towards a pit trap. Luo Zheng smirked coldly.

Before long, Luo Zheng noticed that his adversary seed to stop, warily surveying his surroundings, showing signs of changing direction, but the trap was just a step away. Luo Zheng threw the snake he held, turned, and ran. Hearing the noise, the ninja instinctively turned to look, about to shoot when he suddenly saw sothing flying towards him. Startled, he quickly jumped back to avoid it.

"Swoosh!" A hardwood as thick as an egg flew out of the bushes like lightning. The ninja, incredibly strong, knew trouble was coming just by hearing the whistling wind and twisted his body away weirdly, fast as lightning. The hardwood narrowly missed his back, humming through the air with a sonic boom.

Luo Zheng had just changed hiding spots when he saw the hardwood shoot into the sky, realizing that the trap had been avoided. He sighed to himself, gaining a deeper understanding of the ninja's abilities and recognizing he was facing a top-tier master. Instantly dodging the hardwood attack, this enemy's skill was undoubtedly comparable to that of the 'Drunken Master' and others—aning, the ninja possessed Elite Soldier King level strength.

This was an expert stronger than himself. Luo Zheng's face grew stern, his eyebrows furrowed. Suddenly hearing a scream, he was startled and hurriedly crawled through the weeds, only to find his opponent rolling on the ground, clutching his neck desperately, a snake flung high into the air by the ninja.

"Huh?" Luo Zheng was surprised to see this was the sa snake he had thrown. Could it be that in his attempt to avoid the trap, the ninja had neglected to guard against the poisonous snake? This was illogical; for soone of Elite Soldier King level, overlooking any detail was unthinkable. The only explanation was an accident.

Luo Zheng, puzzled, saw the ninja suddenly foam at the mouth and begin to convulse all over. He was shocked and glanced at his snake and then at the one thrown far away, stunned. Could it be that the snake from before was actually a highly poisonous viper? Impossible, right?

With full suspicion, Luo Zheng looked at the ninja, who gradually stopped convulsing, and felt imnsely relieved. Fortunately, he had acted quickly and decisively, or else it would have been him bitten by that poisonous snake. It seed this thicket was no simple matter. He had to be careful since where there was one poisonous snake, there were likely two, or even more.

In less than a minute, a physically strong individual had been killed by a snake; how potent was the venom? Luo Zheng glanced at the ninja with so sympathy, rushed over, and crouched down only to see that the bite was on a vein, which caused the venom to act fast. But it was also quite potent. Caution was needed.

"Ah—!" Another agonizing scream rang out. Luo Zheng, on guard, looked towards the sound and saw a ninja standing stiffly, a bamboo pole as thick as an egg piercing his abdon. One hand covered his eyes and the other dropped the gun it had been holding. The gun had been aid at Luo Zheng, who now quickly reached for the bamboo pole in the man's abdon. The man's face turned pale, and he began to tremble, a sign of rapidly diminishing life force.

"Huh?" Luo Zheng saw it was the ninja whose eye he had injured. The man had staggered over despite his wounds but unfortunately had stepped into a trap. The bamboo had pierced his abdon. The hollow pole, its sharp end slanted, allowed large quantities of air to rush into the body, and blood spurted wildly from it.

Luo Zheng hadn't expected the injured man to charge at him. His bravery was comndable, yet he had stepped into a trap. Otherwise, Luo Zheng could have been ambushed. He felt lucky, charged at his adversary, and saw him stagger backward without a trace of rcy. On the battlefield, it was either kill or be killed.

The ninja stared defiantly at Luo Zheng, attempting to say sothing, but his lips twitched without producing a sound. His indifferent expression turned confused and resentful. Luo Zheng had no sympathy for the Japanese raiders. He grabbed the bamboo pole, twisted it to enlarge the wound, and pulled it out in a swift motion, causing blood to erupt and the man to scream tragically before he died.

"Damn it." Luo Zheng muttered coldly, his determined gaze lifted as he looked into the distance. He saw three figures sprinting towards him, most likely assassins, only three to four hundred ters away. Luo Zheng quickly cleared the battlefield, gathered two Japanese swords, two handguns, and two M4 rifles, which could hold 30 rounds and had an effective range of 600 ters, firing nearly a thousand rounds per minute— a horrific firing rate invaluable in jungle warfare.

Luo Zheng stashed the Japanese swords and handguns, picked up an M4 rifle, and collected all the magazines from the bodies. He then hurried forward, cautiously running through the bushes and arriving at a huge boulder. He darted behind it to take cover, gasping carefully while keeping a vigilant watch on his rear, gripping his gun even tighter.

Having unexpectedly killed two Japanese raiders, Luo Zheng's confidence surged. Judging by the speed of their running, the assassins were lagging fifteen minutes behind. They were far weaker than the ninjas. If he could successfully ambush and kill at least one more, the remaining two wouldn't pose a significant threat, giving him a chance to fight.

Surviving this far had felt like a miracle to Luo Zheng, who had grown indifferent to life and death. He couldn't let these assassins go unchallenged. Killing them was the only way to draw Turul's attention and alleviate his pursuit of Lan Xue and the others.

With this thought, Luo Zheng looked ahead, his cold gaze flashing with a tinge of concern.
