In the pitch-dark horizon, a streak of light gradually rose, breaking the night's darkness, and slowly lit up the earth. In the dense forest of the prival woods, the darkness receded like the tide at visible speed, and in a clearing on Mountain Ridge, nurous fully ard soldiers were resting. So were alone, so in pairs, either leaning against large trees or back-to-back, displaying faces of exhaustion—it was Luo Zheng and others.
To shake off the pursuers, the group had marched through the night, thoroughly exhausted. After a brief rest, Luo Zheng looked at Kuntai, who had already woken up, securely tied up with ropes all over his body, and smiled coldly before approaching him. Speaking in the international lingua franca, he said, "Kuntai, we've been dealing with each other for quite so ti, so let's skip the nonsense. I'll ask you just one question: Where is the female soldier who was ambushed by your n?"
"What female soldier, I have no damn idea," Kuntai shouted angrily, his face turning beet red. Being reduced to a prisoner was sothing Kuntai, a formidable figure, found hard to accept.
"The one Tiger Teeth was entrusted by General Turul to ambush," Luo Zheng stated coldly. Of course, this information about Tiger Teeth was provided to Luo Zheng by Pangolin.
"That was his personal action, it has nothing to do with . The bastard took soone else's money and act on his own. I've already killed him for that. If you want to ask, go ask in hell, hahaha," Kuntai angrily shouted, his face both grim and pale, a hysterical expression painted across it.
"Too bad, you've answered incorrectly," Luo Zheng, knowing that such individuals would not easily confess, was not in a rush. He retrieved a rope, tied up the prisoner's legs, sought help from others, and hung Kuntai upside down from a big tree branch, about two ters off the ground.
After all this was done, Luo Zheng coldly looked at Kuntai and said, "You can choose not to speak, and I'm not in the mood to interrogate you. How about this—I'll just make a small cut in the arterial vessel in your neck, let you bleed a little. If you can't stand it, just speak up and I'll end your misery quickly." With that, he pulled out his Tiger Teeth combat knife.
"Bring it on. If I frown even a bit, then I'm not a man," Kuntai said coldly.
"Saying that just reminded , making you 'not a man' would be quite easy; I'll grant you that wish in a mont," Luo Zheng replied coldly, turning around to look at Pangolin and asking, "Would you like to take this turn with the knife?"
"Yes, I will," Pangolin said gloomily as he walked over, his face filled with a look of deep hatred towards Kuntai, taking Tiger Teeth from Luo Zheng.
"Damn bitch, I should have known it was you. I always wondered how such a fine prize could throw herself at so willingly. Well, dying by your hand, I can live with that," Kuntai, upon seeing Pangolin, froze and then burst into rage, screaming as his upside-down position forced blood to his head, making his face utterly red.
"Go to hell," the mories of past humiliations and hatred surged within Pangolin as he cursed furiously. His army knife slashed at Kuntai's neck, his emotions getting the better of him, and the force was sowhat excessive, cutting deep into Kuntai's neck. The blood from the veins spurted out like a blood arrow.
"Hahaha, you bitch..." Kuntai burst out laughing uncontrollably in triumph.
Luo Zheng realized that Kuntai was about to utter sothing foul, quickly stepped forward, grabbed Kuntai by the cheeks, silencing him, and looked seriously at the ashen-faced pangolin, comforting, "Killing this beast will put an end to everything. Don't dwell on it, believe that your husband's spirit in heaven is watching all this, watching you avenge him. He will rest peacefully, and if you can live on well, I believe he would be very happy."
"Wuu wuu!" The pangolin covered his face, turned, and ran away in grief, while the Tiger Teeth military knife fell to the ground, echoing his sorrow.
Luo Zheng did not chase after to console further, understanding that in the end, one must co to terms with such things himself. Feeling Kuntai struggling, Luo Zheng looked over, his eyes flashing coldly with a hint of killer intent, and spoke chillingly, "Kuntai, I wonder how long your blood can flow, ten minutes, half an hour, or an hour? I'm really looking forward to it."
"Wuu wuu wuu!" Kuntai's cheeks, gripped by Luo Zheng, prevented him from uttering complete words. Luo Zheng looked coldly at him, slowly let go, stepped back a few steps, and said, "We're going to rest here for an hour. If you're not dead in an hour, I'll spare your life. Whether you can survive is up to your fate."
In this primitive jungle, could a man who has bled for an hour still be alive? The answer was undoubtedly clear, and Kuntai knew it too. His face, initially flushed, turned pale, as if sensing his approaching death, creating a hint of fear. He stared defiantly at Luo Zheng and shouted, "Don't be smug. My n will catch up soon, and then you'll die too. Dying alongside you makes my death worthwhile."
"Really? With our speed, your n can't catch up at all. If you don't die, what will your subordinates do when they find you? Probably seizing power from one another? Watching the ard force you built crumble before your eyes, seeing those you once trusted fighting over your authority, leaving you to die... I wonder what that feels like?" Luo Zheng said with a cold laugh.
"You?" Kuntai glared at Luo Zheng, fire seeming to spark from his eyes, montarily at a loss for words. Giving it a thought, this scenario was indeed probable. While alive, Kuntai feared no one, but what else could a dying man be but a tool used by his subordinates?
Realizing this, Kuntai's expression grew even more terrible, his eyes filled with hatred. The empire he had struggled to build was about to beco soone else's, filling him with rage that quickened his blood flow, continually dripping to the ground, creating a crackling sound.
Luo Zheng knew he had hit Kuntai's vulnerable spot, smirked, and said, "What will it be? Seeing your organization fall apart with your own eyes before you die, or should I make it quick for you? Either way, you're going to die. Would you rather die in rage or without regrets? It's your choice; I have all the ti. In an hour, your n will definitely co. By then, I will hand you over to them, and your dying can even buy us ti to retreat. That'd count as doing a good deed."
"Bastard, devil, if you have guts, make it quick." Kuntai knew Luo Zheng spoke the truth, rage consuming his heart. He let out a furious roar, but the sound was feeble and quickly faded into the vast surrounding forest, t with silence as everyone coldly watched him, unmoved.
Facing death is not what's fearful; it's the endless facing of death. Dragging the death process is a terrifying test for the psyche, unbearable for anyone. Even the tough-minded Kuntai started to break down after ten minutes, especially after Luo Zheng targeted his fatal weakness, inciting panic and rapidly dissolving his resolve. He roared in desperation, "Just end it quickly. I really don't know where these people you ntion are."
