The morning sun was high in the sky, and the sunlight of winter spread warmth as it cascaded down, feeling suprely comfortable on the skin. Luo Zheng had intended to bask in the winter sun but unexpectedly encountered a thoughtless rich playboy. Noticing that the bodyguards to the side might be carrying guns, he imdiately thought about seizing them. This ti on the boat, everyone had embarked as ordinary people, but there were many enemies, and the situation showed faint signs of spiraling out of control. Annoyed about being unard, he certainly wouldn't refuse a weapon delivered to his door.
Luo Zheng slowly stood up, staring coldly at the two bodyguards. His sharp gaze finally fell on the rich playboy who was ogling Lan Xue like he'd never seen a woman before, which was abnormal. Even if Lan Xue was stunningly beautiful, it shouldn't be to this extent, right? Wouldn't a wealthy playboy like him be surrounded by beautiful won? The man's stare was far too intense.
Sothing was fishy about this affair. Luo Zheng didn't act imdiately, but instead heightened his alertness, scanning the surroundings. Apart from those out to soak up the sun like him, there were also a few people swimming in the pool. The top deck wasn't crowded. Most of the tourists on this cruise ship vacation were headed for the casino; only a few ca out to relax. There was no reason for the rich playboy to co to the top deck at this ti, so deliberately. He was clearly looking for trouble.
With this thought, Luo Zheng's anger turned to laughter. He glanced at Lan Xue, who seed to have also realized what was happening and nodded subtly, not saying anything. However, Luo Zheng could sense both Lan Xue's rage and intentions and returned her nod with a smile then turned back to the rich playboy with a placid smile on his face, as chillingly cold as the depth of winter. Suddenly, he surged forward, his body darting between the two bodyguards.
The bodyguards were taken aback and swiftly moved to pinch him from both sides. Luo Zheng had been waiting for just this mont. With quick hands, he reached for the weapons at their waists while simultaneously launching a kick that sent the rich playboy flying. All these actions were completed in the blink of an eye, so fast that the bystanders could barely register what had happened before the playboy landed on the deck of the ship with a miserable scream.
"You're seeking death," one bodyguard roared, swinging his elbow fiercely toward Luo Zheng's head; the other aid his own elbow viciously at Luo Zheng's lower back. As Luo Zheng kicked the playboy away, his hands had already grasped the objects at the bodyguards' waists. By feel alone, he knew they were guns, and he pulled them out swiftly, retreating several steps.
Luo Zheng quickly regained his footing, hiding the pistols behind his back as he coldly observed the two bodyguards whose attacks had missed. A hint of a smirk played at the corner of his mouth; he didn't take their abilities seriously at all.
Seeing their assault fail, one of the bodyguards quickly went to check on the rich playboy. The playboy's front teeth had been knocked out, causing him to convulse in pain; his mouth was full of blood, making it difficult for him to articulate. The other bodyguard, realizing his weapon had been snatched, knew they had encountered a formidable opponent. He watched Luo Zheng warily, not daring to move rashly.
At this mont, Lan Xue got up and approached from behind Luo Zheng, discreetly slipping the handguns into her handbag. Linking arms with Luo Zheng, she sweetly said, "Let it go; he's just a kid. No need to be so aggressive, let's just leave."
Having acquired the weapons, of course they'd leave. Luo Zheng agreed, ready to depart, but the bodyguards wouldn't have it. One stood in front of Luo Zheng and said coldly, "Give us back what you took before you leave."
"What did I take?" Luo Zheng played dumb.
The bodyguards were so frustrated they wanted to kill soone, but they respected Luo Zheng's skill. As bodyguards, even if their own ability was not enough, they could recognize soone not to be trifled with. They couldn't just let him go, but speaking out about the guns was out of the question. With tourists all around, revealing that they were carrying firearms could cause a panic. One bodyguard's face turned frosty as he watched Luo Zheng, and, bracing himself, said, "Don't take this too far."
"Who is causing trouble here?" a commanding middle-aged man's voice rang out.
Luo Zheng found the voice sowhat familiar and couldn't help but turn to look, and saw a middle-aged man in a suit and leather shoes approaching, followed by a retinue of about a dozen bodyguard-looking types. Luo Zheng thought the middle-aged man looked familiar, abruptly recognizing him as Song Yan, a second-generation elite representative of the Song family, a forr important leader in Beijing. His eyes showed a hint of shock, his expression changed slightly, and he exchanged a glance with Lan Xue, who also recognized the man. A cold light flashed in her pretty eyes.
"Uncle, this bastard hit ." The rich playboy ran over with a woeful face, as if he had seen a savior.
Song Yan walked over, looking coldly at Luo Zheng and Lan Xue, his body shaking slightly with anger, his expression icy. However, he quickly regained his composure and mocked with a sneer, "I wondered who it was, and it turns out to be you two. It really is true what they say, 'Enemies are bound to et.' You hit my man, so give an explanation."
"Didn't you just say it? 'Enemies are bound to et.' Since we are enemies, the fact that I hit him is that, what more is there to explain?" Luo Zheng snorted disdainfully, not taking the other party seriously, but inwardly he was puzzled, wondering why this guy was here?
"Arrogant, just as always," Song Yan comnted with an admiring expression, but inside, he was seething with towering rage. He used to be so prestigious, and yet he had been brought to a dead end by the man before him, forcing him to go overseas to manage family business, becoming the kind of businessman he once despised. Although he was richer, he had lost his status. The hatred in his heart could fill an ocean.
Luo Zheng beca more alert. The arrival of the rich playboy was suspicious, and so was Song Yan's. There must be a conspiracy, a plot aid at him. What could it be? Luo Zheng was clueless and decided not to bother with it. Any conspiracy, any trick, would be smashed to pieces with his fists. He stood taller, saying boldly, "I'm flattered, but you're still far behind . Look at you, you're even more imposing than before."
Bringing up the past was bearable until ntioned. When the past was called to mind, Song Yan's rage intensified. He stared at Luo Zheng, his eyes filled with cold light, clenched his fists, and struggled to contain his impulse. It was easy to kill or hit soone, but acting rashly on the cruise ship would look bad for his image and could cause panic. Years of political experience had not gone to waste. Angered as he was, Song Yan soon cald down and looked coldly at Luo Zheng, "Good, I hope you continue with this attitude. By the way, this ship is mine. It's a wonder you could board it, I hope you enjoy yourself."
"I will," Luo Zheng said, unfazed by the hidden threat in Song Yan's words.
Song Yan glanced at Lan Xue, turned around, and left. The bodyguards hurriedly took the rich playboy away too. The top deck quickly returned to normal. From start to finish, the most extre action was Luo Zheng kicking the rich playboy away. Onlookers failed to see the lurking danger and continued their leisure activities.
Luo Zheng and Lan Xue exchanged glances, not in a hurry to leave, but continued to lie down on the sun loungers. Lan Xue whispered, "Ill-intentioned visitors, it's deliberate."
"Mm-hmm," Luo Zheng grunted in agreent, lost in thought. After a while, he continued, "Song Yan must have known we were boarding the ship. It looks like the rich playboy is acting on his own, but Song Yan definitely has a plot."
